Blowin in the wind…
What happens when the wind drastically changes? It did that today, here in Colorado, where I live. And it made me think of what it’s like out in a sailboat. Sailing along. Blowin in the wind. Everything’s great. But then, suddenly the winds whip up in a whole new direction. What do you do?
Instead of just blowin in the wind, you adjust the sails.
Right? Adjust the sails, so you you’re not trying to go against the wind. Because isn’t it a lot easier (and makes more sense) to go with the wind?
And, a lot of times, in business, you can get so accustomed to going in the same direction. On a course you’ve set. Maybe even a good course. But then something changes. And you gotta change with it. Adjust the sails.
So, one easy way…or I should say simple way…of doing that is to really start thinking outside your box. Because it’s that box that keeps you scared. Keeps you focused on limited possibilities. But you can climb out of your box, and explore ideas that maybe wouldn’t have made sense yesterday. Or last week. Or even two months ago.
And those ideas might make a lot more sense now. Get out of that confining “square” you’ve made for yourself, and discover what else is out there. Because there’s a whole world of possibilities.
So, if you’re having any issues about where to go next, think outside that box. I know it sounds so cliché. But clichés exist because they’re truisms. And they tend to work.
Get outta your boxy boat.
Adjust your sails. Find out what else could you be doing. I’m confident you’ll find the answer.
