Cupcake business blues…
Jane (not her real name) hired her sister to help with her new cupcake bake shop. What could go wrong? I mean cupcakes. Sisters. What kind of bakers wouldn’t want a delightful cupcake business? And everything was great. For about a month.
After about a month the cupcake business ran out of frosting.
That’s when the cupcake bake shop wasn’t pulling in enough people to pay the bills…let alone any left over for the sisters. Disaster hit hard. They quickly discovered how sisterly love doesn’t always erase unmet expectations.
Frustration led to harsh words. Harsh words led to hurt feelings. And hurt feelings led to a damaged relationship, more losses, and a broken business.
In my RondaReady business coach CRM system I talk about this. And how it happens, a lot, as a result of hiring people based on feelings, not facts.
Instead of hiring someone because they’re related…or they’re your best friend…it’s best to define what jobs are needed. Then, clearly define the tasks and responsibilities for those positions. And then go find the right talent for the positions.
This is true for just about any business owner.
Right now, I have a client experiencing the pain of hiring the wrong person for a particular job. Because his business needed a certain skillset for that job. But he hired someone based on feelings instead of needs. It didn’t go well. Now he has to let that person go. And that’s never any fun.
Think of all the lost time, resources, and money spent on the wrong person. But you can avoid that problem.
The RondaReady system has helped lots of other entrepreneurs, like you, successfully set up job criteria. And then, they were able to establish better hiring policies and procedures. And that sure helps them (and you).
So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…
