The other day I was on my way to…well, it doesn’t matter, you don’t care about that. But on my way I heard a song by U2…Out of Control, by U2. And I haven’t heard that in for-Ever. And it made me think (as you know, this is how I am) how sometimes when you or your clients feel out of control, something’s off. Something in the process of buying or selling products and services.
The lack of consistent, predictable communication makes you feel out of control.
I mean, who doesn’t wanna feel like you’re in the know? Right?
And I don’t wanna pick on contractors. But a lot of times, in that profession, we consumers feel a little out of control. You know what I mean. You don’t know when they’re coming back. Or when they’ll arrive. And so often they don’t let you know where and when materials will be dropped off.
As a professional business owner, these are things you need to consider. Not only HOW you do your work. But also in how you communicate the process to your clients and customers. People wanna be kept in the loop. Don’t you feel that way, too?
And as long as people understand what the process is, they don’t feel left out. They don’t feel out of control. And they feel like you care. Why is this so important?
