Believe in luck, but only if you're really lucky

You probably already know this. But successful people don’t believe in luck. And they don’t rely on chance. They make and take chances. Did I ever tell you that entrepreneur is a French word for “risk taker?” (actually, yes I did)

But you don’t have to be much of a risk taker if luck is a real thing. (hint: it’s not)

You can believe in luck if you want to.

There’s no law against it, that I know of. But luck is like the “pot ‘o gold” at the end of the rainbow. Neither one fills bank accounts.

Action is a MUCH better strategy.

And I believe you already know that. Or else you wouldn’t be reading this. So, here’s how action works.

Today you might need to take some classes to develop and hone your skills and talents. Tomorrow you might take those skills and talents out into the business world. And next week you might be sharing those skills and talents with a huge audience of devoted clients or customers.

Regardless of where you wanna go with your dreams, only persistent action can get you there. And choosing to believe in luck is not action. In fact, it’s a recipe for letting other action takers jump on your good ideas before you.

But I have a feeling you’re not gonna let that happen.

You’re reading this because you ARE an action taker.

And you’re ready to take actions to propel you upward and onward into the business stratosphere. Am I right? Great. Then, here’s what I suggest. Don’t put off till Monday what you can get started right now.

Schedule a call with me so you can share your dreams and goals. We can talk about how you can automate and streamline your business, your dreams, your goals, and your results.

Here’s your link to get started.

Auto repair shop tuned up and revved up

Once upon a time, in a town very much like where you live, there was a forward-thinking car repair entrepreneur named Mike (no, he didn’t also have a band on the side). His auto repair shop grew steadily for several years. But he always kept his finger on the pulse of technology for ways to improve efficiency and serve his customers even better.

Because he knew an auto repair shop grows on referrals.

So, one day, Mike decided to implement an online system to automate and streamline his operations. He started with a revamped, comprehensive website. And he knew it had to be easy to navigate AND functional. So, he got his webmaster to set up an online booking system where customers could book appointments easily. And that feature, alone, drastically reduced back-and-forth calls.

Then, Mike got his guy to set up an online invoicing and payment system. Because he wanted his customers to be able to pay for services directly through the website. And that also reduced the whole billing and accounts receivable headaches.

Next, he got help to set up an inventory management tool. And that helped him keep track of the shop’s parts in real-time. Because one of the biggest problems an auto repair shop can have is not having parts. But with his system in place, Mike’s shop basically 86’d that issue.

I could on and on about the different ways he automated and streamlined his business. But I’ll just share how Mike got rave reviews, both online and in the shop. His customers really liked being able to book and pay for services online. And he loved how he didn’t have to worry about some of those parts of business anymore.

He actually got to “crank some wrenches” once in a while.

And if you knew Mike, you’d understand how great that made him feel. Because he actually loves the feeling of fixing cars.

I can’t guarantee you’ll feel anything like he did. But I believe my RondaReady Business System hub might help you stay more connected with what you love about your business and ideas. Automated tools can do that.

Find out more about it. Take time to schedule a call with me so you can tell me about your ideas and plans. Maybe we can get them up on the rack and see how to rev things up for you.

I need you to not feel so darn needed

Have you ever heard the song about lost love, by America, called “I Need You?” It’s way before my time. But an older friend recommended it, and I enjoyed it. The vocals sound like they really mean what they say. So, yeah, it’s a sad song.

The thing about saying I need you is that it sounds so needy.

I mean, read the lyrics to the chorus of their song and tell me it doesn’t sound over-the-top needy.

I need you.
Like the flower needs the rain,
You know, I need you.
Guess I’ll start it all again.
You know, I need you,
Like the winter needs the spring.
You know, I need you.
I need you.

Wow. Words like that put a lot of responsibility on the object of the message. Wouldn’t you agree? And it sounds like someone is looking at someone else to be the source of how things go on.

And I know people say such things every day, somewhere. Right? But, while it might seem romantic, it also sounds SO needy. What’s your reaction when somebody gets needy like that? My guess is, it’s not “Yippity skippity.”

OK, now I’m gonna connect this to building a business.

If you’re like a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs in America (see what I did there?), you might think your business can’t survive without you. Because it’s your vision. You dreamed it up. And you were the only one, from the start, who poured blood, sweat, and tears into it to make it what it is. Right? So, the very thought of handing any part of it over to some stranger makes you cringe.

But I bet you also understand that you can’t actually do it all.

No, you certainly can’t do it all and stay healthy. You don’t need a business that’s constantly says “I need you.” Because there might be times when you just can’t be there.

For example, a few years ago a small business owner told me he’d be going into surgery soon. And he had no idea how long the recovery period would be. That’s bad enough. But even worse, he wasn’t prepared for that unexpected time off from his business. So, he wasn’t just stressed and worried about his medical condition. He was also worried about whether or not his business would survive. And that’s a sad, but avoidable situation.

Fortunately, I helped him make sure his business kept running without him while he was out of commission.

And that’s what I do with my RondaReady Business System hub. I help business owners systemize. So, instead of asking “how can my business grow without me” they’ll be confident it can.

The best time to get started was when you first came up with your dream or idea. And the second best time is right now. I need you to schedule a call with me so we can talk about your unique circumstances. Oops, did that sound needy?

Strong belief and the power of information

Israelmore Ayivor said, “Every great building once began as a building plan.” Mr. Ayivor also said that he’s “passionate about transformation individuals through information.” And he’s so passionate about it that he said, “I hold a strong belief that reformation and transformation of society can only become evident in the presence of information.”

Now, you could replace the word “building” with the word “business.” And, no matter what business you’re in, it started with a plan. An idea. Just a thought, or some thoughts, in somebody’s head.

What do you think of when you hear or read the word, Ikea? Affordable home furnishings you assemble yourself. Right? And that’s a great idea. But there’s a catch. You gotta do it yourself. And sometimes there are lots of little parts. So, what do you do?

Well, you start with the strong belief that you CAN DO IT.

Then, you put yourself in the presence of information. (hint: that’s also known as grabbing the instructions)

Yeah, they put the easy-to-follow instructions in every box. Just follow them, and in no time at all, Voila! New bed fram. Or coffee table. Or something else you just couldn’t live without.

But without those simple assembly instructions, and a strong belief that you could do it yourself, where would you be?

With a box full of parts. And no idea if tab A goes into slot B or D. And no clue about all those tiny metal thingys. Plus, where do you start so the whole thing doesn’t fall apart as you go? Yeah, instructions are pretty important, to say the least.

You might not care for IKEA furniture. But you can’t deny their success. And they got there because they make sure to include the information you need to get the end result you want.

That’s the same thing that motivated me to build my RondaReady Business system hub. I have a strong belief that, with good information and a great system, the sky’s the limit for real go-getters and risk takers.

I’d love to tell you more about it.

Because I believe it can help you, too. So, schedule a call with me. And let’s talk about your ideas and plans. And I think you’ll be surprised at how much the information and tools in my system could help you.

Here’s your link to get started.

Believe in something. Don't settle for nothing.

You need to believe in something before you can actually do it. At least, before you can do it well or do it right. Otherwise it’s almost guaranteed you’ll just go through the motions.

So, do you believe in something enough to see it through?

Maybe the first thing you need to believe in is YOU. OK. Do you?

I read an article that talked about how to do that better. Here, I’ll share part of it with you:

~ The Power of Believing You Can Improve

Magic happens by simply believing it’s possible. So, your belief in possibility is necessary for the work, experimentation, and consistency needed to change your life. This belief in possibility is what provided rock stars with the single-minded intensity to get on stage every night, in the face of ridiculous odds. It’s what gave famous authors the tenacity to keep writing and editing after countless rejected manuscripts. And it’s what kept star athletes training, through pain, injury, and loss, until they made it to the top. ~

Well, that shows you the power of believing in yourself. But it doesn’t actually show you how. So, here’s their how-to list:

    • Work on your strengths, not weaknesses
    • Embrace who you are
    • Believe you can and you will
    • Be uncomfortable

As I write and share this, it’s Monday morning in the last full work week of September 2024. So, the fourth quarter of the year is gonna fire up real soon. And you know what that means.

Yeah, tons of fourth quarter talk.

Maybe you’re just getting things off the ground. Or maybe you’ve been going for a while and you hope to finish the year strong. And maybe you’re somewhere in between. Doesn’t matter. The main thing I wanna share with you, right now, is that your dreams and goals will be much more reachable when you believe in something. Something beyond where you are now.

And if you do, then I invite you to schedule a call with me so you can tell me about your ideas and plans for the last part of this year. Let’s see what it might take to give you the big push in the direction you wanna go.

Offer solutions only to people who want them

Offer solutions only to people who want them

I remember listening to a couple of different clients of mine, a few years ago, as they talked about car problems. The first guy mentioned an issue he had with his car on the way to work. But, before he could even finish his story, the other guy started to offer solutions. And the client with the car problem kinda growled under his breath.

But why growl at someone who’s willing to offer solutions?

I mean, c’mon. They’re “only trying to help.” Right?

OK, maybe you shouldn’t growl at someone who’s willing to offer solutions to your problem. But, then again, it CAN be frustrating, to say the least, when you can tell someone isn’t listening. Especially when they don’t even listen to your whole story.

Also, the second guy didn’t ask any other questions. He just started popping out solutions. And that’s like pouring water into a full glass. And you end up with a bad case of information overload.

Have you ever heard this saying? “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Depending on your source, that could be a quote from Teddy Roosevelt or John Maxwell or even Earl Nightingale. It doesn’t really matter who said it first. Because when you start giving answers to someone who hasn’t even asked you for advice, you could end up talking to yourself.

Sometimes questions can be way more powerful than answers.

And they can help you in two vitally important ways.

First, they show the other person you want to know more about them and their problems.

Second, they provide you with much more information. So you have a much better chance at giving the right solutions. And by asking questions, you can help the other person pour some water out of their glass. THEN, they have “room” for you to pour in your solutions.

And your business helps solve your customer or clients problems, I hope you have a streamlined, well-oiled and automated system. If not, consider my RondaReady Business System hub.

And I’m gonna take my own advice and I won’t try to offer up all the problems it can help you solve right now. So, instead, I invite you to schedule a call with me so you can tell me about your ideas and plans. And that way I can offer solutions personalized for YOU.

Top dog status is tougher when there are more dogs

After years of being a business owner myself and working with other business owners, I get it. A lot goes on “at the top.” So, a lot of people think that means you get to be top dog. Because, well, you’re at the top. Sounds logical. Right? And they also think that means other people do the work.

But the best top dogs don’t delegate responsibility to everyone else.

Yeah, you don’t define a true top dog with a big office and a shiny desk.

Of course, if you just started your own business, all this “at the top” talk might not mean so much. Because you might be the ONLY “dog.” Maybe you’re the only decision maker. And you might also be the worker bee, the coffee maker, and the I.T. troubleshooter. But here’s a news flash for you. Every one of those jobs is good prep work for any top dog wannabe.

And here’s another news flash. It’s WAY more important to serve your clients and customers well than it is to try to get “status.” Because, ultimately, it’s your clients and customers who pay your bills. There I said it. And the better and faster you can deliver what they want and need, the better and faster they’ll wanna work with YOU.

That’s why I designed the RondaReady Business System. And, more recently, the business hub. To help go-getters and risk takers get where they wanna go as streamlined as possible. And there’s nothing like a set of automated tools to help you do that. Tools that work well together and/or separately.

I’d love to tell you more about how I believe it’ll help you, too. So, I invite you to schedule a call with me so you can tell me about your ideas and plans. Because I think you’ll be surprised at how much you could enjoy some help. Even if you’re the top dog.

Action center for your dreams and goals

Peter Nivio Zarlenga, a famous American businessman, said, “Action conquers fear.” And I can tell you from experience how you can take action, conquer fear, and even reduce stress. But the best thing to keep in mind is how you have total access to an amazing action center.

You’ve probably heard this famous quote from President Franklin Roosevelt. “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

So what do you suppose keeps you from activating your action center?

Short answer? Exactly what President Roosevelt said. Fear.

Maybe the longer answer is, fear plus not knowing how to activate your action center. Because, maybe you don’t even know where it is. If that’s the case, here’s some great news. It’s in your head.

Your thoughts. Your mindset.

But you gotta make that first move. The first action is almost action-free. Decide.

Yeah, make the decision to take action. And THAT activates your action center, which is your brain. After that, you soon discover how the next logical steps can start falling into place. And that’ll motivate you to take more action. And that’ll lead to more steps falling into place.

Do you see a pattern forming here?

I hope you realize that you only fail if you give up or never start.

So, I encourage you to find someone (even if it’s not me) who’s got the systems in place to help you minimize your risks and maximize your results. Of course, I believe you’ll love the many benefits of the RondaReady Business System hub. It’s kinda like a digital action center that works in sync with your mental action center.

And I have lots of successful business owners as clients who agree.

But I don’t wanna yammer on about how wonderful my system is. Because you might not need it at all. Or you might not be the least bit interested in setting up a system for your dreams and goals.

But if you ARE, then I invite you to schedule a call with me so you can tell me about what you’d like to do about your dreams and goals. And maybe I can help you, too.

Getting things done? Then, you can skip this.

Are you sitting down? Comfortable? Do you have your favorite beverage at hand? If so, great. Because I’m gonna talk about getting things done. And this could get a little rough. I hope you’re really ready.

By the way, this is about getting things done that you gotta do.

So, this might take you WAY out of your comfort zone. And I know what I’m talking about. I fell back into my comfort zone more than once back in the day. Yeah, that’s right. Testify, sistah.

Now, if you’re honest with yourself, maybe you can relate to this next point. I only got in my comfort zone so I could put off the difficult stuff. But the trouble with that is, you can avoid getting things done for only so long. Then, you either do ’em or your business dies.

And that’s the whole thing about your comfort zone. It’s there so you can FEEL like you’re getting things done.

But what you’re doing doesn’t build a better business. It’s just stuff.

Anyone can shuffle papers, sharpen pencils, and straighten a desk. But you’re not just anybody. You’re the CEO of YOU incorporated. No one can replace YOU. And no one can think your thoughts. Or implement your ideas.

A few years ago I talked about Parkinson’s Law.

It’s a law you need to break. And the way you do is to set aside time, each week, to work on higher level parts of your business and ideas. Those important tasks that help you build your business better. And you’ve really gotta guard this higher level activity time the most. Treat it like appointments you absolutely can’t miss.

Don’t worry about your paper, pencils, and your desk. That’s the small stuff you can do easily. And maybe even more efficiently if you have less time for it. Because you can laser focus with tighter deadlines. You CAN achieve what you focus on. Believe that. And act accordingly.

That’s a big reason why I developed the RondaReady Business System hub. To help you automate more so you can get back to getting things done you want and need to do.

Schedule a call with me so you can share your dreams and goals. And maybe I can help you, too.

Healthy separation isn't as weird as it sounds

I’ve gotta keep a healthy separation between my family and my work. Because I don’t like anyone messing with my family time. Not even me.

But that kind of healthy separation can be challenging sometimes.

If you’re self-employed or running a business, and you live in the same house with your family, you know what I’m talkin’ about. Right? Yeah, you love ’em. But they CAN be frustrating when you’re on a phone call.

So, as awful as it sounds, you gotta set boundaries.

But don’t think of it as a bad thing. Because it’s actually a healthy thing. And you’ll see the benefits almost as soon as you set things up. Now, that’s not a guarantee. Because everybody’s different. But it IS usually true.

Just start with the knowledge of how important it is for you to guard your time. And the fact that you’re the one definitely in charge of setting your boundaries.

I had conversations, about this, a few years ago. Some with my daughter. And one with a colleague. Boundaries go hand-in-hand with the values and schedules you live and work by. For example, when you value spending time, in the evening, with your family, set boundaries for that time. But if you consistently allow work or something else to interrupt that time, you probably need to re-think some things.

Is it truly an important, valuable time? Or do you simply go through the motions?

Yeah, give yourself a little tough talk.

Ask yourself the tougher questions. Then, you can find the better answers. Your family life AND your business life will benefit in big ways. And don’t be surprised when you find yourself feeling so much happier and less stressed as a result.

The RondaReady Business System hub can help you schedule your business a lot more effectively. And that can help you can see better ways to keep a healthy separation everyone will probably like better.

Schedule a time to talk with me about it. When would you like better results? Sooner? Or later?

Here’s your link to get started.
