Make room for overwhelm
The struggle is real. And that’s why I’m talking about how to make room for overwhelm. I know you don’t have an issue with it. But maybe you know someone who could use this information (Can you see the eye roll?).
Actually, everybody faces it. So, I say make room for overwhelm.
Part of getting ready for success is your ability to overcome overwhelm. And quickly.
There are 3 important success habits to fight it. And the first one is…breathe. I know it sounds silly. But you gotta remember to breathe. Because when you don’t, panic can really start to set in. So, take some deep breaths. And breathe isn’t just physical. Also, take “a moment” to gather your thoughts.
OK…second…focus on gratitude. Because when you’re overwhelmed, all you see are problems. So get back in your head. And make your list. Say it out loud. What are you grateful for? That’ll get you in a much better place. Along with the breathing.
And third…accept it. You know, when you try to push something down, it kind of rears its ugly head even more. Right? So, accept it. Make room for it. And acknowledge it. “Yeah, I don’t feel real hot right now.” Or “I’m uncomfortable.” Whatever the situation. Whatever’s going on. All of it…accept it. But then, don’t dwell on it. Back to the gratitude.
And prioritize what’s important. What do you need to get done? Structure is like mother’s milk. It really does help you.
