2020 has certainly been a wild ride so far. Right? And I don’t think it’s gonna calm down the rest of the year either. You’ve probably seen lots of people venting about how this year has messed with their lives. And I mean even people who typically thought they were ready for anything. And there are plenty of others who prefer to act like a victim of their circumstances.
I saw one of those just this morning in a social media feed. A young woman was interviewed about why she was part of a protest booth at a political event. I’m not sharing who she was or what the event was because my point isn’t about politics. But when asked why she was there, she answered, “Because _________ (her state governor) has done everything in his power to shut me down. And there’s no way a small business owner even has a hope of running a business anymore.”
But even though I felt sorry for that young woman, and her business, it made me wonder. Why is it that so many other small business owners are still pushing forward and succeeding? And I mean in all 50 states in America. And instead of me just asking the question and letting it hang, I’ll share my answer, too.
There are basically two kinds of small business owners. 1. Those who come up with an idea for a product or service and then try to sell that product or service to anybody and everybody. 2. Business owners who found a market, created a product or service for it, and built a system to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
This year has proved you can be ready for anything but not everything.
I know you’ve seen marketers and motivational gurus on social media spouting off things like “No Fear.” And “Be a _____(fill in the blank) rockstar.” And the ever present, “The only thing holding you back is YOU.”
Those might make for good speeches at a seminar. But they’re probably not your reality.
Because of course you’re gonna have fears. Especially when you start out in your new business adventure. But instead of thinking of fear as a negative, realize how much it keeps you on your toes. And success almost never comes from a fear-less life. No, success almost always comes as a result of being afraid and working through it.
And who wants to be a rockstar anyway? I mean think about it. What are rockstars notorious for? Sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. And for tearing up their hotel rooms. And for a whole list of things mature adults should avoid like the plague.
Plus…YOU are NOT the only thing holding you back.
Owning and operating a business comes with tons of responsibilities and important things to do. And that means there are lots of outside circumstances you might have little or no control over. Legal hoops you might have to jump through. I won’t make a list because there are too many. And somebody else’s obstacles might not be yours at all.
Also…who could have foreseen a year like 2020? Of course, some will say, in hindsight, they saw it coming. But do you seriously think anybody could have predicted everything that’s happened so far this year? And who would have guessed how so many small businesses would fail as a result?
That’s why it’s so incredibly important to Be Ready for anything. Even though you can’t be ready for everything. And I just mean get a proven system working for you and your business. So you can keep your focus ON your business when things get rough. Because when things get rough is not the time to start figuring out where the hatches are so you can batten them down.
And on that nautical note, that’s where my RondaReady system really shines. Because I’ve built a 3 step system to help automate and delegate the details IN your business, so you can work ON your business. Lots and lots of other business owners plugged into the RondaReady System and got amazing results. Of course, your results might not be the same. Because I don’t know how dedicated you are to making it happen.
But if you ARE dedicated to your own success, then maybe you’re really ready to be the highly organized CEO of your business. If so, book a free 30 minute call with me. And together we’ll see if my system is right for you.
Because I truly do wanna help you…
Stay Ready,
Ronda
