There’s an interesting line that Denzel Washington’s character, in “The Equalizer” says. “When you pray for rain, you have to deal with the mud too.”
And you don’t have to look very far, right now, to see how devastating it can be to deal with mud. Right? Yeah, heart-wrenching videos are everywhere about what’s going on in southeast USA.
Before I go on, I wanna be sure you understand I don’t mean, in any way, that those people prayed for rain and now they just have to deal with mud. Far from it. Just shared current events for illustration.
Rainmaker marketers use the pray for rain analogy.
And the mud that comes with that is all the boring, behind-the-scenes stuff you gotta do to get it. But you gotta be able to do that stuff AND not be boring to your customers, clients, or audience.
In other words, you gotta project the good stuff. Even when it doesn’t “feel good” to you. Like they say, “you gotta man up and do the hard work.” And it’s the same idea for lady entrepreneurs, too.
When you want to build a lasting business, you gotta build a solid foundation. I know you know this. But I wanna point out, for the sake of distracted people, that your big building (idea) will fall if it’s built on mud.
And you certainly don’t want to get stuck in the mud. But that’s what’ll happen if you’re praying for rain and building on soft dirt. But here’s some good news. It’s not that hard to build a solid foundation when you have a solid system to help you avoid most of the pitfalls.
So, where do you start?
