Risk management vs no risk
You’ve probably seen one today. One of those signs that says “right lane must turn right.” Right? Sure, those signs make perfect sense. They keep traffic flowing in the most logical and safest direction. You might call it a form of risk management. And it’s necessary, but…
Risk management doesn’t mean you never take any risks.
Most entrepreneurs and business owners have experienced a fairly common risk management tactic from well-meaning friends and family. Has this happened to you? You start up your business idea, and a lot of people in your life…even those closest to you…say things like:
- You should think about your family before trying something like that, or
- Have you thought about what you’re gonna do if this doesn’t work out? Or
- You remember what happened to Uncle Bob with his crazy business idea. You don’t want that, do you?
They probably mean well. But none of that helps. And most of it is an indication those people don’t have the stomach for risk taking that you do. Most people would rather “play it safe” (or what they think is safe, and it might not be so much anymore). So, there’s maybe even a part of them that wouldn’t like to see you succeed. Because that would mean taking a risk actually ended up being an awesome thing. And how would it feel to miss out on something awesome?
But for entrepreneurs, like you and me, taking risks, walking close to the edge, going where no man or woman has gone before…that’s all the exciting part of the ride. We know it’s what gets us closer to our dreams. And a little risk management mixed in is a good thing, too. That’s where the RondaReady online business coach CRM system comes in.
