Here’s one of my favorite quotes. “Make sure everyone in your boat is rowing and not drilling holes when you’re not looking.” And when it comes to quotes, you know the drill (pun intended). Read it and move on. Or read it, let it sink in, and use it to your best advantage.
There have certainly been many times when owning a business felt like I was rowing upstream. And I’m glad that, most of the time, I didn’t have the added headaches of someone drilling holes in my boat.
Does the boat and business metaphor make sense?
If not, you know the drill.
Email me and say, “Ronda, what’s with all this talk about a boat. I’ve got business issues. And I could sure use some straight talk about solutions.”
Well, that’s when I’d answer and tell you your business is the boat. And you want your business boat to stay afloat. Right? Or maybe you’re just starting out. Either way, you’re gonna come up against people who tell you it can’t be done.
But that’s because they can’t do it. Their own fear holds ‘em back. And they subconsciously try to hold you back, too. Because fearful doubters don’t want you to prove ‘em wrong.
That’s why starting and running your own business takes courage. Because you might be sailing uncharted waters. And that means you’ve just gotta have only people around you who will support you. Of course, I don’t mean you have to shun all your naysayer friends and family. But, if it was me (and it HAS been), I’d keep the contact to a bare minimum.
At least until you’ve got your business to the point where even THEY can’t doubt it.
Because your business is your “baby.”
You had the idea. And you brought it to life. And you nurtured it to grow. Because you want it to be able to stand on its own two feet. And make something of itself.
And then one day, when it’s grown, it can take care of you so you can focus more on YOU again.
If that’s where you are, take time to reward yourself. And I congratulate you for a job well done.
But if it’s not where you are, and if you’re not sure how to get it going, consider jumping into my RondaReady UNversity monthly classes. A mere 50 cents a day, $15 monthly, gets you how-to information lots of businesses have used to build 6 and 7 figures businesses.
Of course, your results might vary. Because I don’t know how much effort and time you’re willing to put in on your business. But when you work the strategies I teach, you can see results you might not see right now.
If that interests you, enroll before the end of the month (May 31) to be in time for June’s class. After that, you can still enroll, but you’ll have to wait for July’s class.
So, don’t procrastinate.
Get my free emails for all the updates. And if you’re already a subscriber, you’ll keep seeing my notifications until the May 31 deadline.
Stay Ready,
Ronda
