At your fingertips are the maps to unearthed treasures

Maps. Back in the olden days they were made of paper. And I’m told you folded them up and kept them in the glove box of your car. And apparently they weren’t all that easy to fold up. Plus, if you wanted to look at one in the middle of the night you had to turn on the overhead light. It’s archaic is what it is. Thank goodness we live in these modern days when all you gotta do is tap an icon on your little magic device, and Voila! Maps. At your fingertips.

So, now, it’s super easy to plot out a road trip and get going. Yeah, you just load the bags in the car that’s all tanked up with gas. And you stock the portable cooler with plenty of food. And, of course, don’t forget the water and other preferred beverages.

Then you just jump in the car, fire it up, and head out onto the street.

Oops! One minor detail. Where ya goin’?

Yeah, you gotta know your destination before you take off. Otherwise, like I always say, how will you know when you get there? And like grownups used to say all the time, “be careful what you wish for.” Because you just might get it. And IT might not be what you hoped.

But, as I mentioned before, you’ve got solutions right at your fingertips.

Maps. So simple, in fact, you don’t even have to use your fingertips if you don’t want to. Just use Siri (or Google or whatever your phone’s helper is) and say “Directions to biggest ball of twine in the world.” Or something like that. And almost like magic your maps app finds the destination, plots out different ways to get there, and even estimates the time it’ll take you to arrive.

Then, you just choose one, hit the “GO” button, and suddenly you’ve got a copilot telling you every turn to make. It’s a great system that saves you tons of time and headaches.

And Maps is just one example of why I always say you gotta sit down and plan it out.

Not just any “it.” Your special “it.” The vision you create for yourself. Then, you gotta see yourself having it. Enjoying it. Living the dream as they say. You wouldn’t drive with a blindfold on. And you shouldn’t pursue your dreams without your destination in clear view either. Here are a couple of reasons why.

You might have to deal with something you don’t want. Or you might have to dig your way out of it. And those are two awful choices. Because they’re both expensive. And I’m not just talking about money. It can cost you emotionally and mentally, too.

If you can already relate to what I’m talking about, don’t feel bad.

Because I’ve been there, done that. And, yep, you guessed it, I got the T-shirt too. But let’s not waste time feeling sorry for ourselves. Successful people learn from their mistakes and keep pushing past those bumps in the road. And you’re ready to move forward, right? Great. So, here’s how I lay it out in my RondaReady business management system. Three easy-to-remember steps:

  1. Get Ready – envision your future
  2. Be Ready – develop your strategies
  3. Stay Ready – build your systems

And you’ll be so glad when you take yourself through those steps. Because once you get to the Stay Ready phase, you can have a hands-free business. Now, THAT’S how to be the highly organized CEO of your own empire. Remember, there’s no such thing as standing still. If you’re not moving forward you’re rolling backwards.

So, get yourself a copy of my RondaReady Business Management System book, today. You’ll have a resource, at your fingertips, that can help you like it’s helped my other clients build 6 and 7 figures businesses, and…

Out of reach, out of mind. That doesn't sound right.

Mystery achievement you’re so unreal.
Mystery achievement,
Where’s my sandy beach? Yeah.
I had my dreams like everybody else.
But they’re out of reach.

Have you ever heard “Mystery Achievement” by the Pretenders? I love that song. And I guess my brain is hardwired to connect things like that to business. That’s why I looked up the definition for the word, achievement. The dictionary says “a thing done successfully by effort, courage, or skill.” And I love that combination.

Effort. Courage. Skill.

And those aren’t out of reach. So, achievements don’t have to be either.

You just gotta put in the effort.

But how do you get started?

Well, sharpen your skills. And gather up your courage. And get going.

Because somewhere in your mind you know where you wanna end up.

The lyrics in that Pretenders song ask, “Where’s my sandy beach?”

Well, maybe your sandy beach isn’t a beach at all. Maybe it’s more of a metaphor for a little house on a lake. Or a getaway in the mountains. Doesn’t matter where. But here’s what DOES matter. If something is currently out of reach, maybe you just need to improve your ability to reach.

Focused forward motion will help you make the stretch to get there.

I’ve always found that when I have a clear target it mind, I can almost always hit it. Because clarity helped me to find and get the right people to mentor me and help me strategize. Then, I was able to build a system that helped me create the habits necessary to keep me on task.

And that’s how I’ve been able to use my time wisely and stay organized.

But maybe you’re a shoot-from-the-hip kind of entrepreneur.

Maybe you prefer living on the edge. And you don’t want something like a boring business management system stifling your creativity. Or your spontaneity.

If so, stop reading this now and get back in your game.

But I suggest that it’s better to be able to answer questions than live a life full of them. It’s your life. You get to choose. But if the achievements you desire are still out of reach, I’m somebody who knows the way to the beach.

Get your own copy of my RondaReady System book, today. And get Ready to add your own achievements in a way that’s not mysterious. I’d love to help you…

Stay Ready,

Manual shift to automatic smoothness

I wanna share a little manual shift story that includes one of my interesting appointments.

First, a little background.

Over the years, I’ve had the privledge to work for non-profit organizations in addition to my work with regular profit businesses. Both have been very rewarding experiences.

For one non-profit, in particular, I was hired by the board of directors to help them get documented systems in place. And during my time there, a lot of changes occurred. Board leadership changed. The CEO changed. And the only other employee, who knew the inner workings of the business, left rather suddenly.

At my meeting with the new board leadership, shortly after that, they were understandably concerned. And they were more than a little anxious to know “what kind of mess” the new management would find.

But not to worry. Because I had already made a manual shift for them.

No, it wasn’t a four-on-the-floor, silly. Fortunately, I took action before the sudden departure of the employee who had the inside track of the place. And I captured all that person’s knowledge in a completed operations manual.

So. See what I mean, when I say “manual shift?”

Yeah, we shifted from NO system to having a customized operations manual.

Instead of starting from scratch, completely in the dark, I handed them their operations manual. Then, they quickly realized how they could focus ON their business. Instead of on new programs and donors to serve their community.

They were lucky.

Not so much for a man I knew, a few years back, who suffered from debilitating back problems. Eventually, and inevitably, he could no longer be a one-man-band, self employed business. And he found out the cold, hard truth. He no work, he no make money.

So, here’s a thought…

You will go through the coming year(s) one way or another. But you don’t have to let your business run you. Because you can set up a system and build your business better. A business that can make you money whether you show up all day, every day, or not.

The RondaReady business management system has helped scores of other entrepreneurs, like you, set up their own operations manuals. And this has helped them eliminate chaos and avoid catastrophe. And who wouldn’t like to avoid that? Especially these days.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Hobby ideas shouldn’t just live in your head

A lot of people come up with a lot of hobby ideas. But there aren’t many who figure out how to turn them into full-time successful businesses. Either that, or they can’t decide. Business or hobby? So, they sort of “play” at it. And it never really takes off. Then, they can feel like they gave it a shot. But did they really?

One of my clients turned her hobby ideas into a successful business.

When we first met, she was still in the hobby ideas phase. But she knew she wanted to turn them into a business. And she did it. In fact, she has a great business now. She even had to hire employees. And she increased her revenue by 300%. Plus, she’s enjoyed multiple “road trips” because of her business. And I’m so glad I got to help her get to this level of success.

I gotta share this note from her after one of our appointments. Because it makes me feel so good. For me AND her.

“Ronda, thank you so much for today. Always making great strides with you! It’s been quite the adventure, and I’m so thankful for all you have done and continue to do.”

Yep, no doubt about it. I love to hear and read things like that. It’s why I do what I do. Because I love helping go-getters go get the life they dream about. It’s awesome to watch them Get Ready, Be Ready, and then set up the system to Stay Ready. And when they do, I feel the thrill of their accomplishment, too.

So how about you?

Wouldn’t you love to turn your hobby ideas into a business? Wouldn’t it be great to make some extra money, or even a real nice living, doing something you’re already good at and passionate about?

And, if so, wouldn’t you love to see some of the same kind of results? If you answered yes, what are you waiting for? I wrote a system book that can help you do that. And I know my system works. Because I’ve got way more proof than the client example I just shared with you.

Get your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And don’t let another day go by without working on those ideas in your head. Get ‘em out there in the real world where they can work for you. And let me help you…

Outgrow your limits working On instead of In

I know you’ve heard the expression. Like when an adult sees a pesky little boy and says, “Don’t worry. He’ll grow out of it.” Right? It’s true that some do. Sadly, some don’t. But I’m not talking about how raise kids right now. I just wanna use that expression to motivate you to outgrow your limits and your business.

And it just so happens, working ON your business helps you outgrow your limits.

I know you’ve got the working IN part of your business down to a science. Those day-to-day operations you gotta get done to keep the bills (and hopefully YOU) paid. And they include technical issues, customers and clients, and all those oh-so-fun administration tasks. But that’s all about working IN your business. And it’s crucial to work ON it. Because that’s where the real CEO part comes into play.

When you wanna separate yourself from the 5, 10, 20, or more years “daily grind”, you gotta work ON your business. The people who figured out how to get out of the hamster wheel (hopefully pretty early) got out of the grind. Because they learned how you gotta outgrow your limits in order to keep growing your business.

Are you doing that?

What kind of time are you putting aside to work ON your business? Do you have a plan to get it to that next level, whatever that might be for you.

Do you have a daily focus to put time aside for working ON your business?

And what time of day works best for you?

Usually first thing in the morning works best. Even if you’re not a “morning person.” Because it’ll help make sure you do the CEO stuff before you jump back into the day-to-day grind.

Of course, you gotta get the day-to-day stuff done. Otherwise you’ll lose business. But it’s important to make it a daily ritual to work on your CEO part. The part you dreamed about when you started your business. Or at least set aside a couple times a week with bigger blocks of time.

And plan a strategy and create a system or systems to help replace YOU.

It just so happens, my RondaReady business system can help you do that. So, you can get back to the fun planning and organizing only YOU can do for your business. And that’s when you’ll have more free time and Make More Money.

Good news is, my RondaReady Business System is contained in a book you can get as early as today. When you get it, you’ll have access to the same business system my clients have used to build 6 and 7 figures businesses. So, get your copy today so you can start go outgrow your limits and…

Certain parts gotta go if you wanna grow

Have you ever heard of, or read, the business book, The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz? In that book, the author says to grow a prize pumpkin you gotta get rid of certain parts. Like the vines that are taking away resources from your “prize.” Because if you try to take care of all the pumpkins, your prize pumpkin suffers.

But which certain parts do you get rid of?

And what’s any of that pumpkin talk got to do with business? Right?

Well, let’s say it’s not a pumpkin farm. Let’s say it’s, hmm, let’s see. Yeah, let’s say it’s your business.

So, you probably started your business with a more focused, good idea. In other words, I’ll bet you your next week’s profits that you didn’t start out with the intention of being all things to all people. In fact, I bet you had a particular product or service or information offer. Right?

Well, that’s best the way to get your business going. Because focused efforts produce better results. Better products, services, and information.

And once you grow your prize pumpkin, I mean business, AND your efforts result in sustainable profits, only then should you consider “growing” another one.

It’s crucial to remember that you can’t be everything to everyone.

So, narrow your focus to your ideal clients. But do you know who they are? If you’re not sure, go through your database and find them. Because it’ll show you who you really like working with. And who pays on time. Get a clear picture of your ideal client or customer in your mind. Then you get rid of the certain parts that don’t serve them well. Your data will show you which parts.

After that, you can focus your products, services, and information to get more of those kinds of people.

By the way, my RondaReady System book can help you do all this. And, when you do what it says to do, it can even help you automate a lot of the processes and procedures.

So, dash on over to Amazon and get yourself a copy of the book, today. But only if you’re Ready to Get Ready, Be Ready, and…

Dependable girl or the dangerous type

I remember watching a movie, although I don’t remember which one it was, where a girl made fun of another girl for being dependable. Yep. That’s not a typo. She said something like, “Oh Heather is the dependable girl. Obviously she’s trying to be the teacher’s pet.”

I don’t see how being a dependable girl, or guy, should be considered bad.

After all, don’t you like knowing people you can count on? I know I sure do. Yeah, give me a dependable girl or guy over a dangerous type any day of the week. And twice on Sunday.

And these days you gotta keep a keen eye (and ear) open for users and selfish con artists. If you haven’t had to deal with one, up close and personal, consider yourself fortunate. They’re not always easy to spot. But the good news is, people show you who they are over time. Dependable OR dangerous.

And when you hone your radar skills, eventually you can develop a sort of sixth sense. That radar will beep faster  when the dangerous types get close. But it takes practice.

And that practice includes being clear about your values and principles. Because the questionable characters tend to avoid business owners who make it clear who they are and what they stand for. They’ll see you can’t easily be sidetracked by fast talk and something twinkly.

It sort of goes back to the old saying: “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.” Until someone proves to be a dependable girl or guy, just assume they aren’t. Never ignore red flags. And time can reveal red flags. But if you do get involved (or are involved) with a dangerous type, on any level, use your “see ya later” secret weapon.

Stand up for yourself. Make them earn your trust. You deserve it.

My RondaReady System has helped lots of other entrepreneurs, like you, define and set up business values and principles. And this process has helped business owners build better businesses avoid most dangerous types. And my complete system is in a convenient book. Choose either a fast download or physical page turner.

I have scores of clients who’ll tell you I’ve been that dependable girl you can count on. You’ll find lots of their comments on my website.

And if that helps earn your trust, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And get your system set up soon so you can Get Ready to Be Ready and…

Spring chicken for a quarter

A friend of mine, who, by his own admittance, is no “spring chicken,” told me about finding a quarter on a recent walk with his wife. And not just once. But two days in a row. He said he just happened to look down at the right time and saw a shiny quarter next to the curb. Next day, same thing. But no big deal, right? Because a quarter doesn’t buy anything.

Well, back when my friend WAS a “spring chicken,” a quarter WAS a big deal.

Get this. He said when he was a kid, if he found a quarter, it meant he could buy a soft drink, a bag of chips, AND a candy bar. Or he could go to the store and get 25 pieces of penny candy. Or sometimes he could even go see a movie. What?! That almost sounds impossible these days. So, imagine being a kid back then. Imagine how big a deal it would have been to find that first quarter.

Fast forward to now. And if you’re a business owner on a regular calendar year, you’ve got a pretty big deal first quarter on the horizon. Because the first quarter of 2024 is coming to an end later this month. And it’s a great time to analyze last year’s performance.

And since I’ve been sharing lists and list info this week, here’s a short list of why it’s important.

  • You can make sure you have your current year projections in place.
  • And you can make sure this year’s budget is in place.
  • You’ll be able to include line items for salary increases and incentive bonuses.

Here’s another pro tip:

Set up a staff meeting so you can keep them in the loop. Because they need to know how your organization did last year, too. And they’ll better understand your expectations for this year.

Want another pro tip? OK, how about this? Don’t forget to prepare your employee Pay-for-Performance reviews and bonus structure. Especially if company and individual goals were met.

I know it’s a bunch of extra work. But it’s all part of owning your own business. And performance analyses and projections are still crucial. Even if you don’t have employees. Unless of course, what you do is more of a hobby. Then never mind.

But if you want to turn your hobby into your business, then let’s get crackin’. By the way, my RondaReady System can help you automate and delegate this work. Just tossin’ that out there to anyone who’d like to make it easier.

So, dive into it with your very own copy of my RondaReady System book, today. And it’s a good (and small) investment whether you’re a spring chicken or not. I look forward to helping you…

Special list you can either hire or fire

My previous post was about lists and how to use them for motivation. Today I have a special list for you. It’s a free lesson you can either use or ignore. Totally up to you.

But this special list might only interest you if you hire people.

Or if you think you’ll ever hire people in the future. Because this special list gives you an outline for how to hire them. And how you’ll proceed once they’re onboard. So, are you ready? Really, really ready? Ok, here’s the list…

For new hires:

  1. Determine position roles and responsibilities differently for each new hire. Because people are not all the same.
  2. Find out how your new hire works, and then determine how to let them know what you expect.
  3. You know your business better than anyone. So be sure your new hire can follow you around for the best training.
  4. You’re all adults. So use whatever language you prefer. After all, showing emotions is just keepin’ it real.
  5. If your new hire doesn’t cut it within 90 days, you gotta let ’em go and get someone else. You gave ’em every chance.

OK, there you go. Total common sense.

And the list is yours to use as you see fit. Or, as I said, completely ignore. After all, it’s YOUR enterprise. So, it’s YOUR starship. YOU are the captain. And you call the shots. So, I trust you to make the wise decisions, based on your knowledge and expertise, to avoid mutiny.

But just so you know, I’d say somewhere around 100% of the business owners, who follow a special list like the one I just shared, are going out of business. Or, at the very least, will captain a Starship that doesn’t travel at warp speed.

Either way you choose, let me know how it goes.

If you’d like some help to skip the potential pitfalls of a list like that, transport my RondaReady system book onto your Starship today. Lots of other Captains of Enterprise have used it to keep their shields up and their ship “engaged.” And there’s a whole section devoted to hiring and firing with James T. Kirk confidence.

Each link you see contains the coordinates for where you can beam a board your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And when you get the book, it’ll be almost like having your own Scotty who helps you…

Invisible motivator found next to the indented bullets

A few years ago I talked about a radio DeeJay I enjoy. She has a program she calls “Lust for Lists.” And she puts together her playlist each day based on a particular theme or topic. Now, she didn’t actually say so, but I bet that works like an invisible motivator to keep her fresh and creative.

And I think most people could use an invisible motivator for similar reasons.

I know a lot of, and maybe most, business people tend to love making lists. Are you one of them? It’s almost, as I described a few years ago, a sort of list lust. Who deals with that?

Ok, I’ll be the first to raise my hand. Because it’s so satisfying to create a list and then check each item off the list. Right? And it makes no difference if it’s in personal life or business. When you have a goal you want to accomplish, it just makes sense to make a list. In fact, just the act of making a list brings out that energizing, invisible motivator.

But how and where do you start?

Well, I’ll show you by example…

  • Think of all of the steps required to achieve your main goal.
  • Write them down.
  • Arrange them in order of importance.
  • Double check to be sure you haven’t forgotten any steps, and
  • Start doing them in order so you can check them off.

See what I did there?

A simple list. And all I did was make a list of the steps to take to make a list. You can see how it helps. Right?

Because it keeps you on track. And it gives you the immediate reward of the checkmark. Think of that as silent, but positive reinforcement (aka: the invisible motivator). With every checkmark you get closer to what you want.

Be like Santa business owner. Make your list and check it twice. It’ll take your business from naughty to nice. And when you’re ready to Get Ready, my RondaReady system book can help you develop a healthy list lust.

Invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today.

Then, do what I show you how to do, and it can pay for itself over and over. And it can help you…
