What is your story? And do your people know?

What is YOUR story? And I don’t mean the story you’ve told yourself for a long time. Because it might be skewed a little bit toward the rose-colored glasses side. No, I’m talking about your actual story. What really and truly happened in your life that got you where you are now.

Answer the what is your story question with a story.

And I’m not being coy. I really mean that. In fact, it’s the whole idea behind the 7 principles of the Storybrand framework, created by Donald Miller. Here are those principles:

  1. A Character: Define the customer’s desire.
  2. Has a Problem: Identify and address the problems.
  3. And Meets a Guide: Present your brand as a guide.
  4. Who Gives Them a Plan: Outline the plan or process.
  5. And Calls Them to Action: Create a compelling call to action.
  6. That Helps Them Avoid Failure: Outline the risks of not acting.
  7. And Ends in Success: Describe the successful resolution.

The Storybrand marketing says it’s the way to invite your customers into a story that makes their lives better. Where they are the hero. Not you. And when you present that story well, you’ve got a blueprint for customer connection. One that’s a whole lot more scalable, too.

I know you’re a creative person. So, I know ideas fill your head at all hours of the day and night. But you can save yourself a lot of hassle when you weed out the ones that aren’t scalable.

Scalable business ideas are the ones that don’t require YOU every moment.

And that’s part of what makes them “scalable.”

They’re the ones you’ll be able to maintain so you can sustain growth. Especially in a way that won’t have you on top of every detail 26 hours out of every 24. Sort of like weeds. Ever notice how you don’t have to constantly water, fertilize, and cultivate weeds? They just keep growing. And a lot of times, even in spite of you.

And that gets me back to the what is your story question. Only YOU know what yours is. So, only you can figure out WHAT you need to say. But the Storybrand book can show you HOW to “Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen.”

Piece of the action or the whole hub?

Of course I’m way too young to remember a band called The Babys. So, naturally I wouldn’t automatically know about their song called “Piece of the Action.” But a YouTube video of the song popped up in my feed as I did some research yesterday. And, I hate to admit it, but I let myself get distracted long enough to watch it.

Piece of the Action is actually a good song.

It sounds almost like it could be a theme song to an action movie. Because it has the sort of retro anthem pop sound. But what caught my marketing eye were the lyrics. Check these out:

(1st verse) I’ve got no money.
Could you spare a dime?
I got the plan,
If you got the time

(Chorus) If you take me there,
You can claim your share
Of the action.

(2nd verse) Been on the road
For a long time now.
Paid all my dues.
Oh, I’m ready now.

(chorus)

Sometimes I feel,
As I’m goin’ down,
That nothing can stop me
From losing ground.

From the first line I thought about a newbie business owner.

You first start out a new business on a dream and a vision. And that’s great. But probably somewhere inside you hope someone will take the time to “spare a dime” and buy your products and services. Yeah, I know the feeling. You want somebody to get their piece of the action you’ve got for them.

That’s also the idea behind affiliate marketing. You find a product or service you love. And you can’t stop talking about it. So, you decide there’s no need to stop talking about it. Matter of fact, you set up an affiliate link with the company who provides the product or service and you keep on talking about it. Because when someone buys through your link, you get a little piece of the action.

I even offered my coaching system as an affiliate product for the first couple of years I put it online. Here’s a clip of me talking about it. Keep in mind this isn’t available at this time.

This is just an example:

“If you’re already a RondaReady Online Business System subscriber, I’d love to give you some of your money back. In fact, when you mention it to other business owners you know, or friends, or clients, you’ll receive a commission for every single one who signs up for RondaReady. But only if you’re an affiliate. It’s a great way to get back the money you paid for your own membership. And I’ve already set it up and made it super easy for you.

Click or tap HERE to find out more and sign up for free.

I love to encourage new business owners and entrepreneurs to avoid the feeling found in that song by the Babys. Don’t start thinking that “nothing can stop me from losing ground.”

And that’s one of the huge advantages of setting up a business hub. And that’s why I set them up. To help “take you there” and “claim your share” of the action. But it’s only for serious go-getters. Not Babys. (see what I did there?) If that sounds like something you’ve been looking for, here’s your link to get started:

What is frustration? And where can I get less of it?

Here’s the question of the day. What is frustration? But I bet when I share this example of it, your question will more likely be, “How can I make that frustration go away?”

So. What IS frustration? This:

First, the Setup:

  • Form teams of two. Each team’s members stand side by side.
  • Tie adjacent legs together. In other words, the right leg of one tied to the left leg of the other.
  • Mark a clear start and finish line.

How to Play:

  1. All teams line up at the start line.
  2. On the signal (a whistle or shout), teams race to the finish line.
  3. Teams must keep their legs tied throughout the race.
  4. The first team to cross the finish line with their legs still tied together wins.

You might recognize those rules from the Three-legged race. And if you’ve ever participated in one of those races, you probably have a keen awareness of what frustration is.

And you might also know the feeling of frustration if you and your business are tied together like team members in a three-legged race. Because that’s when you waste a lot of time and effort IN your business. So, you’re unable to enjoy the luxury or option of a hands-free business where you can focus ON it with your creative brain.

But what’s the solution? Especially when you know your dreams and goals require your involvement.

Organization conquers frustration.

I’ve been in business, for myself, for about 20 years. And I’ve been teaching others for the last 11 years or so. And it’s always been about how to be super organized. Because super organized business owners and entrepreneurs are ready for opportunities. Those around you right now. And those yet to come.

Organization isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity.

Because if you wanna grow your business, stay sane, and keep strong and healthy personal relationships (all at the same time) hands-free is essential. Become super organized.

What is frustration compared to super organization? It’s kinda like the old hammer and nail truism. It’s better to be the hammer than the nail.

And I’m confident my RondaReady Business Hub can help you hammer out all the details to get you there. Your business hub is where all the components come together to build your business better and faster.

But you’ll have to let me know if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could work for YOU. Here’s your link to do that:

Consistent communication to replace the interruption

Family can be a blessing. And they can also be the ones who drag you down the most. Because they’re competing for your time. And you understand that. But here’s the thing. You need to coach them as they support you. And you can do that with consistent communication. Let them know what you need. They’re not mind readers. Then, make sure you take time away from your business to show them how important they are.

And don’t be surprised when they reciprocate in a big way.

So, consistent communication equals reciprocation.

Hey, I like that.

And here’s something else I like. In fact, I love to help my clients Get Ready for success. And a huge part of getting ready is to get support from your family and friends. No, I’m not talking about them giving you money while you pursue your hobby. They’d be silly to do that for you. What I mean is the mental, emotional, and even physical support you need to run your business. Because it takes a lot of all those. I’ve seen this work well in my own life. Your results might vary. But here’s how I’ve worked on it.

Business takes a positive mindset and focus. So, you need family and friends who won’t drag you down with negative talk and time-draining distractions. Because you’ve always gotta Get Ready for that next level.

That “next thing” for you and your business.

And with consistent communication you can have people “in your camp.” Awesome people who “get you.” The kind of people who understand you’re working IN your business, AND that you need to work ON it. Because you’ve got to make sure it’s profitable. But you also need to be sure it’s gonna grow to that “next place.”

And by the way, like I always say, a system can help you be light years more efficient. Because a system can help you make time for your business AND your family and friends, aka: your support team. As it just so happens I’ve included the entire system into your RondaReady Business Hub.

It’s where all the components come together to build business better and faster. But I’m not gonna try to convince you how awesome it is right now. No, I’d rather you let me know if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could work for YOU. Here’s your link to do that:

Cast spells, or something that's even better

Imagine, for a second or two, that you’re a well-known neurosurgeon. Respected by your patients AND peers. But one day, on a drive, you get in a car crash. And you have to endure a long journey of healing. But during that time you discover a hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Then, you find out you have the ability to cast spells and create portals you can use to travel through to other places.

And then you discover even more powerful tools than your ability to cast spells.

For example, how about a Cloak of Levitation to help you fly whenever you want. What could be more amazing than that? Well, how about an Infinity Stone that can manipulate time? That might come in pretty handy, don’t you think?

OK, I’ll bet you’ve already figured out I’m talking about Doctor Strange. But I wanted you to imagine yourself in that set of circumstances. Because I’d like you to think about your own “super” powers. One of them should be focus. Yeah, imagine if you could use laser-like focus tools in your business.

Maybe you could “magically” cut your workload in half. And I know, in your business, it can sometimes feel like you’re up against steel walls. And it can also feel like there’s no way around or certainly not through them.

But why bang your head against the wall mentality when you can use your focus super power to cut your way through. Well, that’s what focus tools can help you do. And the sooner you tap into those focus tools, the better. Because you don’t wanna put off success any longer. Right?

It’s not exactly the power to cast spells. But you DO know that’s not a real thing, right?

So, that’s why, in my system, I show you how to use 5 of those super powerful tools:

  • 2 tools to help you visualize your ultimate dream or goal
  • An achievement-to-action tool,
  • A tool to ward off burnout, and
  • A tool to help you establish how much time you’ll take to make the money you want to make.

All of the tools are designed to help you take action. And keep moving forward.

On my website, you’ll see lots of testimonials from business owners who’ve done amazing things with my RondaReady business system. Wonderful stories, from business owners and entrepreneurs, like you. And these are the ones who increased sales, hired better employees, got their creativity back, and plenty more.

I’ve put that system into the RondaReady Business Hub. But I don’t wanna try to convince you how awesome it is from here. No, I’d rather you let me know if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could work for YOU. Here’s your link to do that:

Success is a choice you either make or do without

I like this quote from Dr. Joyce Brothers: “Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.” And I’d add that success is a choice. Because it virtually never happens by accident.

And if you want some income numbers to motivate you, I’ve got some. Here’s a clip from a financial website:

“According to recent studies, to be in the top 1% of earners in the U.S., you need to bring in an annual salary of at least $597,815. This means that the other 99% of earners in the U.S. make less than this amount per year. When it comes to net worth, the top 1% of Americans have a minimum net worth of around $11.1 million.”

Yep. You read that last number right. $11.1 million. And I can almost guarantee those Americans made a choice, at some point in their lives, that got them where they are now.

So, success is a choice you either make or do without.

In marketing and self-improvement circles, you’ll also see it called mindset. And it’s so important that I devoted a few lessons in the first Stage of your RondaReady system to mindset. To help you develop the best version of YOU.  And that’s the mindset you’ll take with you as you build your business.

In those sections, I talk about changing your “Why?” questions to “Why not!” answers. And I help you focus in on who you truly are and where you’d like to see yourself going?

In one of my lessons I say, “It’s vital to establish a clear picture of where you wanna go, so you can actually get there.” And if you’ve followed me for even a little while you’ve heard me talk about your roadmap. But another thing I say is, “Why go it alone, when you don’t have to? Let me help.”

You might think you’re the only one who knows your business well enough to work IN it. And I hope, for your sake, that’s not true. Because you can do so much more and build your business so much faster when you work ON it. And hire others (or set up automation) to work IN it.

So, since success is a choice, are you ready to change your mindset?

I truly hope you’re ready to think of yourself as a success. Because then (and only then) will you be ready to invest in yourself to get there. And I’m confident I have something to help you have that confidence.

My RondaReady business system has helped scores of other entrepreneurs, like you, change their state of mind. And establish their roadmap to success. And in the past year I’ve set up even more ways to help you work your entire process from a personalized business hub.

I’d love to talk with you about it some more? Here’s your link to let me know if you’re interested:

At your desk, fingers on the keys, and…what now?

Are you sitting down, at your desk, right now? I hope so. Because I’ve got a sad story to share. And you really should be seated to soak it in. Here’s a clip from an article I read a few years ago:

“I worked with a guy for 30 years, saving money at a senior engineering job had him with a net worth of several million, and a paid off half million house.

He was going to retire at 65, and travel the world. And he was 64, and could already access his $2 million 401k if he wanted to. He died of a massive stroke at his desk one morning 6 months before his 65th birthday. You never know how much time you have.”

No, you really don’t know how much time you have. But you DO know it’s limited. Right?

So, maybe you won’t die at your desk.

But you might still have to deal with burnout from time to time. And you’ve got a couple of options.

  1. You deal with it, if and when it comes.
  2. You have a plan to avoid it.

Let me make a subtle suggestion. GO WITH THE SECOND OPTION

Because when burnout strikes, it can be almost impossible to be creative. Or focus on the day-to-day operations in your business. Especially if and when your business depends solely on you. And don’t tell me this doesn’t apply to you. Or that you’re immune to the effects of burnout because you love what you do.

I get it. Because I love what I do. But it’s not all of who I am. My business is only a part of me. And I don’t want the other parts to just fade away and disappear because I only worked all the time.

But how can you take a break, a vacation, when your business can’t run without you?

That’s the million (or multi-million) dollar question. Because when you find the right answer, you can enjoy time away from work. And that’s time when you can focus on those other parts of you. Or your family. And friends.

Mental and emotional stress are even more harmful than physical.

You can’t keep holding weights up indefinitely. Your muscles will give out after a certain amount of stress. And your mind will give out, too, if you don’t give it recovery breaks. If you’re affected, you might notice symptoms like:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Lack of memory or concentration
  • Compulsive behavior

If you’ve noticed any of these symptoms, I recommend you seriously consider setting up a system for you business. One that includes what I call recovery time. There are plenty of tools to help you get organized and prepared.

Another option is to plug your business into a hub where that work has been done for you. And, as it just so happens, my RondaReady business hub can fit that bill quite nicely, thank you.

And one section of the system I build your hub on includes how to deal with dying at your desk. Oops, I mean…burnout. It’s where I help you set up the tools you’ll need to be sure you’re not “that person.”

So, if you think you’re Ready to build a business better and faster, connect with me today.

Sequence of events and a sequins covered dress

Where do sequins intersect with a sequence? Now, THAT’S a question you won’t find many places. Right? Here, I’ll clear it up a little bit with this example. There has always been some sort of sequence of events that led up to wearing a dress covered in sequins for something like a New Year’s Eve party.

Now, I know you probably think sequins are just some silly, shiny circles of plastic. Or metal or whatever. But don’t snicker. Because the right sequins covered dress can cost hundreds of dollars at places like Saks Fifth Avenue. And I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they cost even thousands for certain celebrities.

But the wrong sequence can cost even WAY more than that.

And if you’ve followed my posts long enough, you know I just segued out of fashion talk and into business talk.

Because there’s a sequence for business. Yeah, it’s so easy to get started and mark some things “now.” And throw other things into the “later” pile without putting any of them in a sensible, time-saving sequence. Before you know it, you’re so out of order. And you don’t even know how you got there.

The worst part is, out of sequence usually means you’ll have a lot of make-work.

When you don’t work in a logical, productive sequence, you’re gonna have a lot of re-do’s. And there’s nothing like do overs to put you way behind.

OK, I’ll switch back to the fashion talk for a little bit.

So, let’s say, for you ladies out there, that you’re about to get ready to go out. And you spend a lot of time on the makeup. Then, you gotta do the hair. Put it up real nice. And it’s easy to spend an hour, or even more, on all that. But have you ever been in the middle of all that and it dawns on you?

“Oh no! I still gotta get dressed!”

So, you pull your shirt over your head. And you gotta put your other clothes on over your head, too. But I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what just happened.

Wrong sequence! Right? Because, now, your makeup and hair are a mess. And so is your mood. Those are re-do’s.

Wasted time. Frustration.

Well, in business, you definitely can’t afford to do that. Because it might not be just a frustrating loss of time. You could end up losing sales and profits and customers.

And that’s why I set up a logical sequence in my RondaReady Hub System. But I don’t wanna try to convince you how awesome it is from here. No, I’d rather you let me know if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could work for YOU. Here’s your link to do that:

Nervous to fly in the wide open spaces

After a door plug blew out from an Alaska Airlines flight in January, more people have been nervous to fly. And I think it should be fairly obvious why. Right? Here’s another thing to consider, though. Planes DO sometimes make emergency landings. But, according to well-kept, public records, it’s rare that anyone is seriously hurt.

But still, a significant number of people are nervous to fly.

And that’s despite the news that I read that said, “Major U.S. airlines are in the midst of a remarkable safety streak, with none of them having a fatal crash in the U.S. in 15 years.”

Did you catch that?

NO major U.S. airlines have had a fatal crash in 15 years. Amazing! Compare that to how many car crashes happened, across America, just TODAY. I’ll bet that number isn’t “none.” Don’t you?

Now, check out this info I found on a news website. It said, “The FAA handles 45,000 flights per day with 2.9 million passengers aboard. And data from the National Transportation Safety Board shows only a handful of problems on commercial passenger jets happen in any given month.”

On a slight rabbit trail, I just got a visual of 2.9 million people up there in the sky every day. Boggles the mind. Especially when you consider it was only about 120 years ago that people first started getting airplanes to fly. Wow.

OK, where was I? Oh yeah. Nervous fliers.

So, here are some reasons why you don’t have to be nervous to fly.

  • Planes are made with multiples of the important parts
  • Pilots and crews train extensively to prepare for things going wrong
  • Emergency landings aren’t necessarily “emergencies”
  • Even injuries from turbulence are still fairly rare

And major U.S. airlines have stringent systems in place to keep their planes in flight-ready condition. So, the nearly 16 billion people who were in the air over the past 15 years made it to their destinations alive.

That’s the power of setting things up, well, before you even get started.

And that brings me to my RondaReady Hub System. Let’s say your business (or the business you’d like to have) is an airplane. And let’s say you’d like to keep that plane in the air, crash-free, for as long as possible. Well, you’re either gonna need a great team of people, or you’re gonna need a system to help you automate a lot of what you do.

When you just get going, you usually can’t afford the great team of people. So, that’s the best time to set your business up in my System. But I don’t wanna try to convince you how awesome it is from here. I’d rather you let me know if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could work for YOU. Here’s your link to do that:
