Whole new direction for those windy days

What happens when the wind drastically changes? I bet sailboat owners can relate. Sailing along. Blowin in the wind. Everything’s great. But then, suddenly the winds whip up in a whole new direction. What do you do?

Adjust the sails and go in a whole new direction.

Adjust the sails, so you you’re not trying to go against the wind. Because isn’t it a lot easier (and makes more sense) to go with the wind? When you do it right, you don’t even have to go in a whole new direction. You can simply use the wind to tack differently and still go in the same general direction you wanted to go in the first place.

A lot of times, in business, you can get so accustomed to going in the same direction. On a course you’ve set. Maybe even a good course. But then something changes. And you gotta change with it. Adjust the sails.

So, one easy way (or I should say simple because there’s no truly easy way) of doing that is to really start thinking outside your box. Because that familiar box can keep you trapped. And it can keep you focused on limited possibilities. But you can climb out of your box. And go in a whole new direction. And explore ideas that maybe wouldn’t have made sense yesterday. Or last week. Or even two months ago.

And those ideas might make a lot more sense now. Get out of that solitary confinement you’ve made for yourself. And discover what else is out there. Because there’s a whole world of possibilities.

Yeah, if you’re having any issues about where to go next, think outside that box. I know it sounds so cliché. But clichés exist because they’re truisms. And they tend to work.

Get outta that dinghy.

And jump on a world-class catamaran. Adjust your sails. Find out what else could you be doing. I’m confident you’ll find the answer.

And, as far as business goes, I believe my RondaReady business hub could be your catamaran. Serious business builders have been using it for years to turn their crafts in a whole new direction.

How about we talk about it some more? Here’s your link to let me know if you’re interested:

First day at work was so manually smooth

I shared a video of Jen, who’s the office manager of a client of mine, a few months ago. And, in the video, she talked about how she was able to start, on her very first day at work, with clear directions, training, and systems to follow. Because I had already helped my client set up and implement their very own operations manual.

So, even a new hire’s first day at work makes sense.

And guess what my client saved by not having to start from scratch with Jen. If you’ve paid attention to what I’ve been sharing, even for a little while, you’re probably way ahead of me. Yep. TIME.

Probably the biggest benefit of getting organized is saving time. Maybe you’ve figured out the code. But I still haven’t figured out a way to make more time. So, the next best thing is to get more done using less of it. Right?

And that’s an awesome way to build your business better and faster.

One of the three pillars of my RondaReady system is what I call Stay Ready. I remember an ad I saw a couple of years ago, as I did some online research. And it was an ad for a cream or lotion for men. They claimed you can “nourish and hydrate your skin while eliminating odor-causing bacteria with a mint & clove fragrance.” And that way men can “stay ready” for the day by looking and smelling good.

If only it was as simple as that for business. Right?

Well, I won’t say it’s as easy as applying moisture to your skin.

But my RondaReady business hub is about as close to it as your business can get. Because you can literally plug your business into a system that’s already set up for you. And you can start getting (and feeling) more organized. And I mean from day one.

So, you gotta answer some important questions. Can you afford to spin your wheels trying to figure everything out on your own? And would you rather work on what YOU know?

And I know you have plenty of options when it comes to setting up a business system. But I recommend you choose my system. Because it has the one thing no other system has. Something that can help you reach your dreams and goals better and faster. And that one thing is ME. From your first day at work in the system.

I don’t want you to just buy stuff from me. I want you to succeed to whatever level you desire. And that’s why I make myself available to my customers and clients. Within reason, of course.

Keep in mind, though, it’s not for tire kickers. It’s a comprehensive, yet easy to follow, system for entrepreneurs and business owners who don’t have time to waste.

Hands free but definitely still hands on

The right system can help you easily duplicate and replicate what you do in your business. And then you can pass it on to other people and/or tools to get it done. Then, you can stay hands free and ready for that “next big thing.” And that takes me to your content calendar.

And doesn’t a hands free content calendar sound like the best thing ever?

I know. Maybe not compared to a brand new car. Or a trip to the coast. I’d love a trip to the coast right now. But this isn’t about me. Because I wanna help you get wherever it is you wanna go. So, I just mentioned the coast because that’s what I usually think of first. And did I mention I’d love a trip there?

OK, let’s say you have accounts on this little thing called social media. Then, let’s say you’ve already set up your website. Those are great places for content. But have you set up a calendar for it? And do you follow the schedule?

Do you know which days you’ll post? And what kind of content you’ll post? What social media and business channels will include? And do you know what time of the day you’ll post? And is your setup something you’ll stick with?

Are you one of those off-the-cuff content creators? Or does your business need something more formal? And if so, will you be getting it edited? What all does it take to “get out there” and be seen? And do you have your methods documented so you can pass the whole thing on to someone else one day?

Position yourself so you don’t have to ask,  “What was I doing again? Or, should I be doing this on Monday or Wednesday?” Those questions should show you that you’re not Ready. Not prepared for success.

And they also show you that you’re way more hands ON than hands free. To some degree you gotta do both.

But. Do you wanna know what works great for small business owners like you?

Software tools you can “plug and play” and schedule everything so you can get it off your mind and into Action. Those kinds of tools help you keep your sanity. And they can help you actually scale up your business.

And if you don’t have the software tools, I shamelessly suggest my RondaReady business hub. It includes the System I’ve used to help clients build business better and faster over and over and over again.

But it’s only for serious entrepreneurs and business owners who know how to buy the right tools AND not pay for them. Because, it only works for the ones who are committed to having a successful, more hands free business.

Getting closer to getting ready?

Skimming through some YouTube videos I saw a clip of an old black and white movie from the silver screen days. The title said something like “freeloader brother-in-law’s excuses.” And my curiosity got the best of me, so I clicked it. There’s a part where the “man of the house” asks his brother-in-law, “Are you getting closer to finding a job?”

Of course, the “freeloader brother-in-law” had plenty of excuses. But no job.

And I smiled as I watched the clip.

Because it made me think of getting closer to getting ready.

And I’m talkin’ about how a lot of business owners get so bogged down in busyness. They spend so much time “getting ready” that they never seem to actually get ready. And here’s the thing.

GETTING ready shouldn’t keep you from BEING ready.

When I coach my clients one-on-one, it takes about a year to complete. That’s based on putting in an average of 1-3 hours of work each week. There are ways you can reduce the time. But, on average, it’s a time investment of about a year.

I only bring it up because I like to help my clients and customers save as much time and energy as possible. And I always ask them, “Why reinvent the wheel, when you don’t have to?” Plus, why not keep things as simple as possible?

In my RondaReady business system I recommend a simple list of tools:

  • It’s a great idea to have (or get) a cloud storage account. You’ll need a secure place to save all your work. Cloud storage is great so you can access on any of your devices and easily share with others on your team.
  • Reliable computer/tablet and printer
  • PDF reader software
  • Paper for printing out worksheets and examples
  • Pens/pencils for regular writing
  • One large piece of paper or poster board at least 2’x2′
  • A physical folder for your handwritten notes and printed resources. (If you prefer digital files, be sure to save all your downloads to your cloud folder.)
  • Scotch tape and post-it notes.

And start with your own website so you can focus your marketing efforts toward getting people to come to you. And make it a super simple site to navigate. Easy to understand. And simple to buy your goods and services.

And don’t worry about getting the coolest, latest super-duper calendar with lots of bells and whistles. Just start with the one you probably already have on your phone. And be persistent with it. Set your reminders. And your alerts.

Maybe you already know this, but a lot of phones, like my iPhone, even help you set things up with your voice. Easy peasy.

So, here’s the point.

Don’t spend even one more day getting closer to getting ready. That’s a recipe for frustration. Instead, I recommend you write down your ultimate goal, map out the way to get there, and then take the first step. And follow that up with the next step. Et cetera, et cetera.

And here’s something else I recommend. Give yourself the benefit of my years of experience. Invest in your very own RondaReady business hub. I’ve already done tons of the hard work. And I’ve set up a system you can plug your business into with confidence. As you’ve read this, you’ve been getting closer and closer to the link where you find out if it’s right for you.

Serious business owners buy this kind of system, but they don’t pay for it.

Guess who didn't make it accidentally

I ran across an interesting news clip about a 1970’s rock band called the Guess Who. In 1970, right at this time of year (it’s May 2024 as I write this) they had a three-week run at No.1 on the US singles chart. The song was “American Woman.”

But guess who wrote that song.

No, you don’t have to guess. I’ll tell you what happened, just in case you don’t already know. In a way, nobody sat down and wrote American Woman. It actually happened by accident more than anything. According to the news clip, their lead guitarist, “Randy Bachman was playing a heavy riff on stage after he had broken a string.”

But the other members of the band liked the riff and joined in on the jam.

Unbeknownst (I’ve always wanted to use that word) to them, a fan in the audience had recorded the whole thing on tape. And he presented it to the group after the show. And they listened to how much the crowd enjoyed it, too. So, they developed it into a full song. And the rest is history, as they say.

That shows how, every once in a while, even an accident can turn out to be something great.

But I don’t recommend you depend on or wait for that kind of accident when it comes to business.

Because, the likelihood that you’ll have the same kind of luck the Guess Who had is, well, unlikely. So, I always recommend you make a plan, write it down, and follow the steps.

And a business hub can help you do that better and faster.

When you’re ready to build your business on purpose, my RondaReady business hub can probably help. I don’t guarantee it will. Because accidents (and distractions) DO happen. But with the proper focus and commitment, you CAN see much better results.

Taking action like one of the Queen's knights

Hey there. Ronda here. And I’m gonna share a little something from Sir Paul McCartney AND a business tip. The business tip is about taking action. Because little actions you take today are building blocks for what you’ll get tomorrow.

OK. So, where do you start taking action?

Before I answer that, here’s the something from Paul McCartney I mentioned. First some lyrics from his song, “I Don’t Know.”

I got crows at my window, dogs at my door.
I don’t think I can take anymore
What am I doing wrong?
I don’t know.

And here’s a little snippet I found where Mr. McCartney talked about the lyrics in that song.

“So it starts off with I’ve got crows at my window, dogs at my door. And those are all the sort of troubles gnawing at me. And then it goes through and sort of tries to solve the problem. But eventually the answer is, I don’t know.”

Yep. Sometimes, even with the best intentions, you just don’t know where to start.

If that’s you, right now, then your first action for today is your business agenda.

And, as I always say, write it down.

Doesn’t matter if it’s ten minutes or a half hour or an hour. Just be sure you can take some time, today, to work ON your business. That’s how you build it. Create it. And make it repeatable. So you can grow it.

Become the CEO of the business YOU want. And that’s how you support the lifestyle you dream about. Because YOUR business can do that for you. And you can have a lot of fun doing it.

So, here’s what I suggest.

Every morning, or every evening, set your agenda for the next day. When you have a clear purpose, don’t be surprised to see how glad you’ll be to get out of bed and start taking action.

Results require action. So, the business ABC’s for today are Act, Build, Create. And that’s how you change “I don’t know” into “Let’s Go!”

And back to Paul McCartney’s song. Notice how it’s called “I Don’t Know.” But here’s the thing. He took action and finished the song, produced it, and released it. One action step after another.

When you’re ready to “write a better song” for your business, my RondaReady business hub can probably help. I don’t guarantee it will. Because I don’t know if you have Paul’s dedication to the process. But if that’s the kind of business owner or entrepreneur you are, it’ll be sweet music to your ears before you know it.

Tight rope walking when there's solid ground all around?

I’ve never understood why tight rope walkers do what they do. Especially when they go very high, don’t use a net, and tempt death over and over. But I guess not all of us care to take those kinds of chances with our lives. Right?

Yeah, just imagine your life in the balance on a tight rope.

I’ve shared a snippet about a tight rope walker, Philippe Petit. He’s a pretty famous high wire artist who walked a “wire” between the twin towers of the World Trade Center back in 1974. And not just once, but eight times back and forth. Whew! I get tingles in my feet just thinking about it.

Another famous guy on the wire was Karl Wallenda. In fact, he got his whole family in on the act. They called themselves the Flying Wallendas. Tragically, Karl’s life ended when he fell about 40 stories from a wire fastened between two buildings somewhere in Puerto Rico.

OK, let’s compare your work life balance to that of a high wire artist.

And imagine being so balanced you can stand on tippy toes with one hand tied behind you. With no worries of falling. Wouldn’t that be awesome? And of course I’m using a metaphor to make a point.

But the point is real.

Lots of my clients have complained they just don’t find balance in their lives. Either they spend too much time on their business and neglect family life. Or they “slack off” too much with the family and their business suffers. So, what’s a business owner or entrepreneur to do? Well, I’ve discovered, most of the time, they don’t know how to organize in a way that’ll help them build business better and faster. And they haven’t set up automation and delegation.

It’s easy to believe you’re the only one who can do whatever needs to be done in your business. And when you start out, that’s actually probably true. But if you wanna really expand your business and work ON it more and IN it less, you need a business hub.

One that helps you set up, prioritize, and automate as many day-to-day chores as possible. Why spend your time stringing up the cable and securing the foundation when you could be the artist on the high wire? Up there where the world can see the results of your amazing ideas.

Clients and customers will line up to “see your show.”

When you’re ready to focus your efforts ON your business more, my RondaReady business hub can probably help. I don’t guarantee it will. Because it takes commitment to the process and dedication to your dreams. But if that’s the kind of business owner or entrepreneur you are, it’ll be cake.

Get off the tight rope and on the solid ground of success.

One step forward, two steps back, and turn around

A friend of mine told me his grandmother used to say, “If it feels like you’re taking one step forward and two steps back, then turn around.” I thought about it again just now. And when you let it sink in, it kinda makes sense in life in general.

If you wanna be successful, take one step forward.

And sometimes you have to know when to say one step forward is one step too many. Then you have to go another direction. But how do you know? It’s not always crystal clear. But one part is totally clear.

You gotta know your numbers.

For example, do you know where most or all of your business originated? And do you have an idea of where you’d like to get more of it? Are you working a certain section of your marketing to get results you want?

You almost can’t know the answers to those questions, if you’re not keeping score?

It’s a big part of being your own boss and conveying leadership.

I remember a meeting with a client where we talked about his current year’s projections. And we went over how much more he wanted to accomplish on a monthly basis. It’s always easy to say, “Well, I gotta go get more clients or customers.” But what about the ones you already have? How are they producing?

We went over my client’s numbers. And in his product-focused business his customers can order more from him. So, we did a quick analysis of previous orders. And we came up with some minimums and some strategies for how to boost those monthly sales.

And that’s how he could see 75% of the increase he wanted and needed for the next year could be achieved with current customers. At least as long as he worked his strategy to help his customers make more money. Because helping them increase helps him increase.

Yeah, we figured that out by checking the numbers.

It’s not good enough to know the old money in money out numbers. You gotta know where it’s coming from. Because that helps you know how to position your business for that next step forward.

So, to recap. Numbers. Projections. Know them.

And that’s only one of the many ways my RondaReady business system can help. Plus, the system can help you automate and delegate a lot of the process. And my business system is contained in a handy dandy hub. If you’re interested in building business better and faster, find out more about what a personalized hub can do for you.

Personal assistants don't have to be famous

Did you watch the Mad Men series? If so, you probably remember Peggy Olsen. She started out as the secretary to Don Draper. That was before the term “personal assistants” was used. Anyway, he was a big-time ad exec at the fictional Sterling-Cooper ad agency. Peggy overdelivered when it came to working for Don. And she worked her way up the copywriting ladder. And she even got to pitch famous clients.

Pretty cool story.

Bond movies fans already know one of the most famous personal assistants.

Yeah, Miss Moneypenny. Right?

She’s the one James Bond flirts with but nothing ever goes further than flirting. And Miss Moneypenny is the personal assistant to M, Mister Bond’s boss, so to speak. So, she has to handle herself in some very intense situations. Of course, she does that with poise and personality.

OK, those quick snapshots bring me to my question.

Have you ever hired personal assistants? Can you even afford one? In another post, a while back, I talked about getting a personal assistant for your brain. And I showed how important contact relationship management is to your business. And your sanity.

Because your life is full of things you gotta do. Or things you’re gonna do. Right? Yeah, here in America, business owners certainly deal with high stress almost every day.

So, why make it harder on yourself by trying to remember everything? As I always tell my one-on-one clients, “Your brain is too valuable to use as a storage drive.” Or something to that effect.

And why would you want to focus on phone numbers, passwords, contact addresses, and so many more day-to-day details? Especially when you can get a personal assistant to remember those things so you can focus on creating and building your business.

Think you can’t afford to hire an assistant?

Well, who said anything about hiring? I recommend starting smaller. With an assistant you probably have with you right now. In fact, according to a lot of statistics, you might be using your assistant to read this right now.

Yeah, you probably already guessed. I’m talking about your phone. It’s an amazing organizational tool when you set it up to work for you. Let it remember everything you need to document. And you DO know you should document all your business activities. Right? Another thing I always tell my clients…”If it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.”

And besides taking simple notes, get your phone to add an action plan. You know, the follow up.

What you’re gonna do next. And no personal assistants to pay.

But maybe this is starting to sound a little more involved.

Well, it IS. But that’s why I built my RondaReady System so that every contact has its own notes section. It’s like putting your personal assistant on steroids. But with only positive, business building side effects.

And get this. My system makes it super simple with voice-to-text recognition. Yeah, you can dictate your notes on the fly. And your 24/7 assistant files it away where you can get to it anytime you need or want.

No worries about employee sick days or call-ins. And no complaints about too much work or not enough pay.

Some people call that optimum business efficiency. I call it RondaReady.

And the best way to be RondaReady is with something I call the RondaReady Business Hub. It includes the system I’ve used to help tons of business owners and entrepreneurs reach their dreams and goals a lot faster.

And here’s the coolest part.

It’s totally repeatable for your business, too. How do I know? Because, as I said, I’ve seen it work for a whole lot of clients over the years. It has stood the test of time.

Contact me if you’d like to talk about how a business hub could get you going. Here’s your link:

Plugged in, turned on, and no psychedelics needed

A while back I had the pleasure of working with two of my clients who are already plugged in to the RondaReady CRM System. And I helped them set up intake forms for their new clients and customers who call in requesting services.

My clients were spending a lot of time on the phone. And maybe you know how it is. Lots of initial consultations. Answering tons of questions. And almost always getting nowhere fast. Sound familiar?

That’s why it’s important to get your business plugged into a system.

Here’s an example of how it helps. In your RondaReady System, you get landing pages. And you don’t have to be a programmer to use them. Plus, you get lots of templates to choose from.

And both of the clients, I just mentioned, have dramatically reduced their phone time with these landing pages. Instead of answering the same questions over and over, they set up the information on a landing page. Because that way answers are easily and readily available to everyone who lands there.

So, your lead or your prospect fills in the form. And their info is delivered automatically to your CRM contacts. Mapped directly to the right fields. Talk about a huge time saver. Because it’s the exponentially more efficient, effective way to do things with much less work.

Business systems, you put together, should help you be more hands-free.

And, as the CEO of your own business, you gotta get plugged in like this. Because it saves you SO much time and energy. Either for YOU as you do it yourself. Or in ways you’ll delegate to others. And even in the way you delegate to your automation tools.

So, hopefully you can think of some ways to become more hands-free in your business. And if you’d like to do it better and faster, consider getting plugged in to your personalized RondaReady Hub. What?! You don’t have one, yet?!

Well, I get it. Because it’s not for everybody. Only serious business owners and entrepreneurs who want to build and scale faster. If that sounds like a better idea to you, find out more about what a personalized hub can do for you.
