On the job training

Bob (not his real name) was frustrated. And that’s putting it mildly. When he and I talked about his business’s on the job training program, I’m pretty sure I could see his blood pressure go up. Because he knew his system didn’t work. But he thought he just didn’t have time to change it.

So, I wanted to show him a better way to do on the job training.

Because business owners DO have time to change it. And that time comes from all of it saved by setting up training that doesn’t cost owners and other workers their valuable time.

For example, Bob (again, not his real name) used the old follow-me-around-and-learn method. But he, and the workers he trusts to train other workers, ended up distracted by tons of newbie questions. And you can’t blame the newbie. Because how’re you gonna learn if you can’t ask questions? Right?

So, the old follow-me-around-and-learn method costs time AND money in reduced production output.

And there’s another issue with the old follow-me-around-and-learn method that can actually be dangerous. Because newbies don’t know their way around the place. And they risk getting hurt on machinery while they’re trying to pay attention to instructions. That’s a serious risk management problem.

I’ve talked to other business owners who had potentially good workers quit because of those risks.

Good workers are willing to be lead. But the problem is, people wanna work with people who make them feel confident. And how confident can a newbie feel as they follow somebody around who’s trying to answer questions AND run a business?

Short answer…not very.

And, as a business owner (or someone who wants to be one) it’s important to understand how the old follow-me-around-and-learn method is not the best use of your time. Or your newbie’s time.

And making the best use of your time is one of my super powers. Matter of fact, I’ve used my schedule control power (among others) to help business owners and entrepreneurs build 6 and 7 figures businesses. Lots of them.

So, when you’re ready to make the best use of your time, consider jumping into my . That’s where I share how-to videos (on the first Thursday of each month) for getting your business back in control. Or off on the right foot.

But the deadline to enroll for June’s class is fast approaching. May 31. You can still enroll after that, but then you’ll have to wait for July’s class. And you’ll miss out on this important time management class.

You know the drill or the drill can sink your boat

Here’s one of my favorite quotes. “Make sure everyone in your boat is rowing and not drilling holes when you’re not looking.” And when it comes to quotes, you know the drill (pun intended). Read it and move on. Or read it, let it sink in, and use it to your best advantage.

There have certainly been many times when owning a business felt like I was rowing upstream. And I’m glad that, most of the time, I didn’t have the added headaches of someone drilling holes in my boat.

Does the boat and business metaphor make sense?

If not, you know the drill.

Email me and say, “Ronda, what’s with all this talk about a boat. I’ve got business issues. And I could sure use some straight talk about solutions.”

Well, that’s when I’d answer and tell you your business is the boat. And you want your business boat to stay afloat. Right? Or maybe you’re just starting out. Either way, you’re gonna come up against people who tell you it can’t be done.

But that’s because they can’t do it. Their own fear holds ‘em back. And they subconsciously try to hold you back, too. Because fearful doubters don’t want you to prove ‘em wrong.

That’s why starting and running your own business takes courage. Because you might be sailing uncharted waters. And that means you’ve just gotta have only people around you who will support you. Of course, I don’t mean you have to shun all your naysayer friends and family. But, if it was me (and it HAS been), I’d keep the contact to a bare minimum.

At least until you’ve got your business to the point where even THEY can’t doubt it.

Because your business is your “baby.”

You had the idea. And you brought it to life. And you nurtured it to grow. Because you want it to be able to stand on its own two feet. And make something of itself.

And then one day, when it’s grown, it can take care of you so you can focus more on YOU again.

If that’s where you are, take time to reward yourself. And I congratulate you for a job well done.

But if it’s not where you are, and if you’re not sure how to get it going, consider jumping into my RondaReady UNversity monthly classes. A mere 50 cents a day, $15 monthly, gets you how-to information lots of businesses have used to build 6 and 7 figures businesses.

Of course, your results might vary. Because I don’t know how much effort and time you’re willing to put in on your business. But when you work the strategies I teach, you can see results you might not see right now.

If that interests you, enroll before the end of the month (May 31) to be in time for June’s class. After that, you can still enroll, but you’ll have to wait for July’s class.

So, don’t procrastinate.

Get my free emails for all the updates. And if you’re already a subscriber, you’ll keep seeing my notifications until the May 31 deadline.

Why we do what we do is more important than what we do

There used to be a blood pressure commercial that finished with this tag line: “If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for them.” And thinking about that made me remember a conversation I had with a client of mine. We talked about why we do what we do.

Turns out we both do what we do for about the same reasons.

And family was number one for both of us. Plus, we both want financial security. And I definitely want to work on my own terms. So, I built a business that helps me work from home and take care of my kids.

And I’m grateful and blessed to have been doing this since my kids were crawling around the living room floor. Now, my youngest is about to finish out his school years. And my two older daughters are working on careers (and even business ideas) of their own.

Just knowing I was able to be with them more and guide them more is a reward I can’t even calculate. And I’m sure they won’t fully know how much it meant to me until they have kids of their own some day.

Your reasons for doing what you do might not be the same as mine. But, whatever they are, never let them out of your head. In fact, if you can’t say what your reasons are right this very minute, stop reading this.

Yeah, stop doing whatever you’re doing. And grab yourself a pen and paper. And put everything else down, too. Because you need to figure out why you do what you do, today. Right now. Then, write down your reasons and read ’em out loud to yourself.

We humans just don’t do as well when we don’t know why we do what we do.

But, my guess is…you already know your reasons.

Even so, the challenges and frustrations of the day might blur your vision. I’ve been there. We all have. But, like I always say (or at least as often as I can think to say) keep your eyes on the prize.

If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for them.

Speaking of doing it for them…

I’ll be launching RondaReady YOUniversity soon. It’s System Thinking for younger people about to go out on their own. And it’s based on a proven System. A system that’s helped lots and lots of business owners and entrepreneurs turn 5 figures businesses into 6 and 6 figures businesses into 7.

You should know…I’m gonna offer it at a substantial discount only to those who get my daily emails. But that’ll only be for the first few days when I launch and release it.

So, don’t dilly dally. Get my free emails for all the updates. And if you’re already a subscriber, set up notifications so you don’t miss out on the offer. Get Ready, and…

Think about things and stop thinking about 'em

A while back I shared the idea about how thoughts become things. And I quoted Ralph Waldo Trine who said, “Thoughts are forces.” So, if that’s true, and it is, it’s not so hard to imagine that you could think about things and make them appear.

But you can’t just think about things and DO nothing.

You could sit around all day and think about how Henry Ford invented cars and the assembly line. Or how Beethoven sat at his piano and composed beautiful symphonies and sonatas. And you could think about how Apple keeps putting out cool computers and smartphones. Or how easy it is to shop online.

But you wouldn’t be doing what any of those people and those companies are doing. And what they’re doing is DOING.

Sure, every great product or service started with an idea. And yes, every idea was once just a thought in somebody’s mind. But if the great ideas were just thought about, there’d be no Apple, or Ford, or sonatas, or online shopping sites.

It’s true, you’ve got a lot of power packed your brain. But you gotta unleash it. And set it free. By DOING.

Once you think about things long enough to know you should follow up, then it’s time to DO.

But when you start the “do” part, it can be easy to forget some of those great ideas you thought up. And that’s why I tell my clients and students to write it down. And learn to either automate or delegate. Because you shouldn’t bog all that brain power down with ordinary, every day jobs.

And that’s where I can help.

Because I’ve already developed an awesome System and put together the teaching to help you be the best YOU possible. To help you think about things…but then get ’em done.

When you can focus on what only you can do, you’ll build credibility, authority, and probably quite a profitable business. But my System isn’t cheap. So, it’s not for everybody. But for the right kind of entrepreneurs and business owners it has been a (sorry to use this overused term) game changer.

So, if that tugs at your thoughts a little, get my free emails so I can tell you more. And if you’re already a subscriber, be sure to watch for my upcoming course on System Thinking for young up-and-comers. You’ll get the announcements for RondaReady YOUniversity.

Business FOR family instead of OR

Way back in the day (as they say) I started my business for family reasons. And some would say that sounds a little contradictory or odd. But I can promise you it was the best decision I could have made.

I wanted to (and needed to) make a living and provide for my family. AND spend actual time with them. Not spend time in an office with a whole bunch of other office people. Because that’s what I’d been doing. And I could almost literally feel the joy of life draining out of me. I didn’t wanna miss my kids growing up.

So, after two years I went my own way, and except for one year I’ve been “on my own” ever since. And that year was when I transitioned my work from one industry to another to move to different part of the country.

And that’s why I say choose business FOR family instead of business OR family.

Because they can and should complement each other.

I think about the 20 years I’ve had with my three kids. And I’ve worked from home for almost all of them. And just saying it out loud, I realize how incredible that is.

When I first had my oldest daughter, I had a good-paying corporate job. And I got three months of maternity leave in my benefits package. But, after being with my new baby for those first three months, I knew I didn’t like the idea of leaving her each day to go back to work.

So, that was my motivation to develop what eventually became my RondaReady System. And now, it’s a proven System with over 20 years of proof behind it. That’s 20 years of helping entrepreneurs and business owners turn 5 figures businesses into 6 figures businesses. And 6 figures into 7.

I don’t guarantee I can do the same for you. Because I don’t know how committed you are. But I CAN say, if you’re the kind of person who’s motivated by dreams, goals, and even family, I can probably help.

But don’t decide right now. Get my free emails and see if I seem like who I say I am. Find out if I’m the kind of person who truly wants to help you succeed. And when you DO see that, THEN jump into the RondaReady System with both feet. And I’ll help you Get Ready, and…

Get discovered because it's obviously the easiest thing to do.

Let’s say you live in a remote, small town in some place like northern Idaho. And let’s say it’s way back in the 1920’s. So far this doesn’t sound like the right set of circumstances to get discovered and become a big Hollywood celebrity. Right?

But a young girl with those circumstances DID get discovered.

It wasn’t in Idaho. But that young girl’s parents moved from Idaho to San Francisco when she was a teenager. After her father died, she and her mother eventually moved to Los Angeles. And one day she skipped her typing school class for a snack break in a soda fountain (yes, that’s a real thing) in the Top Hat Cafe in Hollywood. And boy, did she get “a break.”

Yeah, if you’re any kind of fan of silver screen movies and movie stars, you probably already know I’m talking about Lana Turner. And you probably already know how she took her lucky break and sure made good, as they say. In fact, she went on to become one of the most famous movie stars.

Ms Turner won awards and was even nominated for the Academy Award for best actress for her role in the movie version of Peyton Place. So, her chance meeting worked out pretty well for her. At least for her career.

Her personal life was a completely different story.

Lana Turner married and divorced seven times. She suffered from chronic depression. And her daughter, Cheryl, stabbed one of Lana’s lovers to death.

So, that whole “discovered” idea isn’t always a bed of roses, to say the least.

It’s also not a good business plan. And it’s certainly not a system you can depend on or trust. Sure, it sounds glamorous to think about having a milkshake and becoming a movie star. But the odds are stacked against 99.9% you for that to happen.

It’s a much better idea to figure out who you are, what you do well, and where there’s a market for that. Then, it’s a good idea to set up a system that’ll help you take the right steps to turn your idea into your lifestyle.

But, I can tell you, from experience, it takes a while to set up that kind of system from scratch. But I’m also happy to tell you that you don’t have to start from scratch. Because I already did the hard work for you.

And my RondaReady System has over 20 years of proof behind it. I designed it so business owners and entrepreneurs could plug in and start automating and systemizing almost immediately. I’ve shared lots more of the benefits (plus strategies and tips) in my free daily emails. So, if you haven’t already signed up, sign up.

Don’t wait for me to discover you. Odds are I won’t be going to any soda fountains any time soon. So…

Vacation fails are hilarious when they're happening to someone else.

Last week I read a funny article about some funny vacation fails. Well, maybe they’re funny in hindsight. But at the time they happened, maybe they weren’t so funny. And since we’re getting close to that time of year when lots of families go on vacations…

I’ll share a few snippets from those vacation fails.

How about this story of sky high horror?

“The first time we flew with all three kids was a disaster. About an hour into the flight, my oldest starts complaining that she doesn’t feel well. Out of nowhere, my middle [child] projectile vomits all over the place. There are no baggies in the seat pocket. I’m cleaning her up and my oldest starts vomiting. The flight attendant brings a ton of wet napkins so I’m able to clean everyone up. I ask my middle how she is doing, and she vomits again — directly into my face.

“When we landed, the flight attendants asked everyone to stay seated so ‘the children who are sick’ could get off the plane first … When my mother-in-law asked how the flight went, I burst into tears.”

I have three kids, so I could relate to that poor woman’s story. Thankfully it never happened to me.

Now imagine going through this blood-sucking ordeal…

“My parents took us to Florida one year to visit Cape Canaveral. Driving past a highway pullover titled ‘Mosquito Lagoon,’ my dad decided to pull over. Not so wise. Mosquito Lagoon was given that name for a reason. Five minutes into the boardwalk through the swamp, my sister and I were so bitten up, we ran back to the car screaming. When we finally made it into the car, we had to kill all the mosquitoes that had followed us inside. Summer vacation fail.”

Yuck. I started itching just reading that one.

Then, there was this absent-minded mess that another lady shared…

“Last year I wrote the wrong dates in my calendar and the hotel called and asked where we were because we missed the first three days of a prepaid vacation.”

Ouch. Has that ever happened to you? I hope not. And her memory leads me to something I talk a lot about in the RondaReady System. Your recovery calendar. It’s a big part of helping you cope with the challenges and stress of being a business owner or entrepreneur.

I’ll never forget how one of my clients told me the recovery calendar I helped her set up “has been a lifesaver.” She said she just never sat down and planned time off before. So, she never took time off.

And I think that’s worse than any of those other vacation fails.

So, I included a recovery calendar section, to help you avoid it, into a proven System for you. And that System has helped scores of businesses go from 5 to 6 figures and 6 to 7 figures.

And that beats projectile vomit, mosquitos, and lost vacations any day of the week.

My free emails show you how and where to get the RondaReady System. So, you should get them and find out. If you’re already a subscriber, you already know. And you know I want to help you Get Ready, and…

Thought process of a penniless inventor can make you wealthy.

I read an excerpt from an article written by John J. O’neill. He was a science writer at the New York Herald Tribune. And he’s a guy who Nikola Tesla said knew him best. And this little snippet sheds some very interesting light on Tesla’s thought process.

“Tesla created the modern era; he was unquestionably one of the world’s greatest geniuses, but he leaves no offspring, no legatees of his brilliant mind, who might aid in administering that world; he created fortunes for multitudes of others but himself died penniless, spurning wealth that might be gained from his discoveries. … His name became synonymous with magic in the intellectual, scientific, engineerings and social worlds, and he was recognized as an inventor of unrivaled greatness…. In a single burst of invention he created the world of power today… he gave us our mass-production system… every essential of modern radio; he invented the radar… he gave us high-frequency currents… he gave us remote control by wireless… And these discoveries are merely the inventions made… scores of others remain still unused.”

Wow! Nikola Tesla’s thought process helped make others rich.

But he died penniless.

These days it’s so much easier to get your dreams and ideas out there. And you can make a good living with ideas, now, that wouldn’t have been possible in Tesla’s time. And so much faster and low-cost, too.

But, just like Tesla, you gotta have a System. And I mean a thought process you don’t have to (and shouldn’t) keep in your head.

Guess what? I’ve already built that kind of System for you. It’s a proven, successful System with over 20 years of proof behind it. And scores of businesses that have gone from 5 to 6 figures and 6 to 7 figures.

Don’t die penniless. Be smarter than Tesla at least in that way.

My free emails show you how and where to get the RondaReady System. So, you should get them and find out. If you’re already a subscriber, you already know. And you know I want to help you Get Ready, and…

Baby steps can take you to amazing and profitable places.

Small steps. Some people even call ’em baby steps. But the point is…they’re steps. And they require action. And action is the only way to get somewhere. Have you noticed that?

And the good news is, big things can happen even when you take baby steps.

A client of mine, Justin, who’s a marketing professional, shared some comments about my step-by-step System. Yes, he complimented me, which is nice. But he also shared how it helped…

“Ronda has been a pleasure to work with over the past few months! She is a terrific coach that truly challenges you to create quantifiable goals and holds you accountable to meeting those goals. Ever think you are too much of a “big picture” person that won’t have success implementing your grand ideas? Well Ronda is super helpful in strategizing with you on how to build the foundations for a successful business. She breaks down step by step the building blocks needed to achieve your grand vision, all while making it manageable with weekly and monthly benchmarks. After a few sessions with Ronda your entire year will be mapped out, not just time spent in your business but on your business and away from your business as well…yes that even means vacations.

The best part about working with Ronda is how empowering she is. It is not just about helping you build out goals to tackle on your own. She provides support along the way and seems to always find a way to encourage, motivate and inspire. I would highly recommend working with Ronda if you are someone who has a goal of where their business should be but needs a quantified and effective plan set forth to accomplish and be held accountable along the way. An investment in Ronda is an investment in the success of your business.”  ~Justin D. – Marketing Professional Online Software Co.

So, when you’re ready to take some small (or even big) steps…

…get my RondaReady online business coach CRM system. It’s the only way to get what no other system in the universe has…me. I’ll be there with you, every step of the way, to help you get ready, and…

Purpose in life is essential. So find yours on purpose.

I watched a movie, some time ago, about a dreary day in the life of a gifted young guy. And I don’t remember the name of the movie or really a whole lot about it because it wasn’t a very good movie. But I do remember the young guy was highly intelligent. And he came from a wealthy family. And he was attending a small, high dollar college. But he didn’t have a purpose in life. Or he certainly wasn’t sure what it would be.

Sadly, there are too many gifted, young people who don’t know their purpose in life.

But I don’t think it’s because they’re stupid. Far from it. They’re like the guy in the movie. He could easily learn stuff. But he didn’t have a clue where to apply himself. As it turned out, he was good at gambling. But, like everything else, the luster wore off pretty quickly.

So, as he wandered around the college campus, he aced his tests, looked for card games, and tried to figure out what it was all about.

And I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you know a young person, or maybe even several young persons, who go through the day like that. And I believe it’s because they don’t have a System for getting through the day.

So, how’s that gonna work out for them in life?

Short answer? It’s not.

Longer answer is…someone needs to show gifted, young people a systematic way to look at life. And then they can get a clear picture of what they want…and a proven way to go and get it.

Good news is…someone has done that. And that someone would be me. I call it RondaReady YOUniversity.

And my RondaReady YOUniversity is based on a proven System with over 20 years of proof behind it.

It’s an investment in the future of gifted young minds. Not the least expensive investment you (or they) will ever make. But certainly far from the cost of a college that might or might not help them focus.

You should know…I’m gonna offer it at a substantial discount, when I launch it shortly. But only to those who get my daily emails. And that’ll only be for the first few days of the release.

So, don’t dilly dally. Get my free emails for all the updates. And if you’re already a subscriber, keep your eyes peeled for the offer, and…
