Pivot episode and I’m only sharing this with my friends

Do you need a pivot episode?

Did you ever watch that little unknown 90’s show, “Friends”? Remember the pivot episode where Ross, Rachel, and Chandler are taking a sofa upstairs? Ross kept yelling, “Pivot, pivot, pivot!”

Finally Chandler yelled, “Shut up, shut up, shut up!”

Pivot episode

Do you ever have a pivot episode?

I’m only sharing that because it’s getting close to the end of another work week. And some of you Type A’s might be thinking of working through the weekend. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, if you’ve got some momentum and things are going well, and you just plain love the work, go for it. But I like to encourage business owners and entrepreneurs to Pivot! once in a while.

Get out of your daily groove and get out and move.

Go see a movie. Or hike in the mountains…or wherever you like to hike if you don’t have mountains where you are. Get a change of scenery. Do some things in a different order. Or eat a different kind of lunch.

Point is…pivot from the routine once in a while so you can get refreshed and go back to work with a new perspective. Sometimes you don’t even realize you need to do it until you actually do it. Believe me, I understand what it’s like to get in the groove and not want to stop. Especially when you’re trying to build your business and get more out of life. But I still encourage you to write your own pivot episode. And when you do, let me know how it went.

Maybe somebody needed to hear this.

And to all of you, have a great weekend. Now, I’ll shut up, shut up, shut up.

Stay Ready,

Wimbledon is like your business – be the racket not the ball

Wimbledon is like your business

Wimbledon is in full swing right now. (pun intended) I’m not a big tennis fan, but I do like to “drop in” from time to time and watch. Mostly watching the audience. It’s funny to see all those heads going back and forth in sync. And, of course, seeing the tennis games and audience makes me think of a business analogy. (What are the odds?)

Do you ever feel like you and your business are being smacked, like a tennis ball, back and forth. Maybe it’s your schedule, or your to-do list, or your clients. Whatever it is, it doesn’t feel good does it? Wouldn’t you like to change that? If so, I feel your pain. Like they say, “been there, done that.” But after working with scores of clients and developing a way to help define, plan, and implement systems, I think I can help you overcome that out-of-control feeling.

Pretend you’re a star player at Wimbledon

You’re known for your powerful serve. You’ve practiced and played hard your whole life to be here in this moment. On this grassy stage, Wimbledon, famous around the world as one of the top tennis arenas. You loft your first ball into the air and lift the racket to swing into the serve. Now, stop action! Let’s zoom into that shot a lot more closely. Zoom in. A little more. That’s it. A cropped shot of just the ball and the racket.

Which one do you think is about to feel the impact more?

Yeah, that’s right. The ball is about to get smacked beyond its ability to stand still. So, it’ll fly through the air, over a net, bounce on the ground, and get smacked again by another racket. And that poor, little ball will have no say-so in where it goes or how long or where it’ll end up. Here’s where my business analogy comes in…

Don’t be that ball. Be the racket. Because the racket controls the impact, pace, and direction. Much better and all important to your business.

I believe I can help you build your business better so you feel more like the tennis racket and less like the tennis ball.

Paid time off is not always what it’s cracked up to be

PTO – Paid time off

This might sound like crazy talk, but I’m actually grateful for no PTO…paid time off. At least in the way PTO works for most people and businesses anyway.

Paid time off

One huge reason I made the leap from working for someone else to building my own business was so I could be with my kids. I never want family to be an afterthought or come in second place to work or other parts of life.

Regular jobs never had enough paid time off.

When I “went out on my own”, my oldest child was 2 and my second daughter was only 3 months old. So, my number one reason for owning my own business was to have time with family. After almost 17 years as a business owner, that’s still my number one reason. Working in the corporate world never allowed enough paid time off to be with my kids when they need me most.

Take today for example…my daughter isn’t feeling well. And I’m able to be at home with her and take her to the doctor. I didn’t have to “call in sick” or ask permission to “take time off.” And I know the systems I’ve put in place will help keep my business operating while I take care of my family. Another benefit is my daughter doesn’t have to feel my stress. That pressure stress of getting back to work before I lose my job. She can rest easy knowing I’m able to be there as much as she needs me.

It’s a tremendous gift.

I remind myself, almost everyday, not to take it for granted. When I see or hear myself complaining about how the day is going, I just close my eyes and remember what it was like before. Oh yeah, that’s a gift. And if you’d like any help getting the same “gift”, I’m confident I can show you how.

Money is fluid so do all you can to help keep it flowing

Money is fluid.

The more you try to hold onto it, the more elusive it is. I learned this a long time ago. And it’s good to remind yourself of wise things…or be willing to be reminded of them. Saying money is fluid is more than just a catchy sound bite. It’s actually true. Money, like fluid, needs to flow in order to be of good use to individuals and economies.

Money is fluid

My daughter discovered an every day example of how money is fluid.

I had a conversation, about this, with my daughter the other day after enjoying a nice lunch together in one of our favorite restaurants. The subject of tipping the wait staff came up. My daughter offered to pay the tab, but she said she felt like tipping was spending too much.

I brought up the old saying, “What goes around, comes around.” And I added how money is definitely no exception. When you want people to spend more on your products, services, or information…or even to remember you, it stands to reason you should be doing the same for them.

That’s how economies blossom and flourish.

Matter of fact, the more people try to hold on to money, the less effective an economy is. Think of it this way…if no one went to Walmart to spend any money, how could they keep even one store open? Much less become a giant retail force. You might not be a retail giant…or ever want to be…but you DO want people to pay you for your hard work. Right? Then, it stands to reason you should be doing the same. In fact, if you don’t go spend some of your money, you won’t get any new things. And where’s the fun in that?

So, here’s to learning how to make a lot of money while, at the same time, keeping a spirit of generosity. Give value – get value.

That’s how money is fluid.

From here to there is gonna take doing things differently

From Here to There

There’s a saying I’ve heard a lot of times that goes: “What got you here won’t get you there.” Here…it’s where you are now. There…it’s where you want to be or you’d rather be. So, it makes sense to say if you want to get from here to there, you gotta do something different. And I keep seeing this in my client meetings. Here’s an example:

Bob (not his real name) is a potential new client. He and I met, a few days ago, to talk about how I could possibly help him get from where he currently is with his business to where he wants to go.

The good news is, Bob started out as a solopreneur, a one-man band you might say. And in only seven years, he built his business up to the point of having 10 employees.

The bad news (if you wanna call it that) is…now, he finds himself in a position of not only having to run a business, but also having to manage 10 employees.

Not as easy as it sounds.

What got him to where he is now won’t help him manage 10 employees. He’s gotta do something different. And that’s actually a good thing because it’ll mean setting up a system with automated and repeatable processes to help get him out of the day-to-day tasks. To get from Here to There, he needs to leverage his time and focus.

That’s where my online business coaching and CRM system comes in. It provides business owners the right tools to build, scale, and even automate day-to-day tasks so they can focus ON their business, not IN it.

When you find yourself in the enviable position of having a profitable business…but you feel you’re losing control of your time and focus, I’m confident the RondaReady system can help you get back in control and live your dream.

Bold and brave – two words to describe America and you

Bold and brave.

Those are two words I think of most often to describe entrepreneurs I have the privilege to work with. After all, for most people, going “out on your own” is just a dream. And few (the bold and brave) follow through with action to make their dreams come true. And I love helping those risk takers because they inspire me to keep on keepin’ on, too.

bold and brave

Independence Day, the 4th of July here in America, is the perfect time to acknowledge the bold and brave men and women who served our country and helped provide and protect our freedom. Because of them you and I are able to take risks, start our own businesses, and make a better life for ourselves and our families.

So, I’m here to celebrate the bold, the brave, the free, and the entrepreneurs. Happy Birthday America!

Sharks are circling – Is it too late to start swimming faster?

Sharks Are Circling – Swim Faster

Do you ever feel like the sharks are circling you and your business? I’m talking about that overwhelming sense of not being in control. Where so many distractions and interruptions become like blood in the water and here come those sharks to take you away.

Sharks are circling

I talked with a client, recently, who’s been going through that. Of course, I know she shouldn’t be going through that because she’s so good at what she does. So, we went over her schedule of a typical day. As it turned out, she just needed better control of her activities, and I showed her how “batching” them can help alleviate that feeling of losing control.

When the sharks are circling, batch

Batching’s just another way of saying you’ll keep the same kinds of tasks together and do a bunch of them at the same time. The reason it works so well and helps you be more productive is because you don’t have to shift gears so much. Like sending out emails. Instead of doing one or a few of those every day, set up a time when you’ll do them all. Then you’ll be in that gear, and you won’t have to move back and forth between programs or apps.

Or how about scheduling all your phone calls for the same time each day. That way, phone calls won’t feel like an interruption. You’ll be getting to them on purpose, and you’ll be more focused on sales or customer service or whatever.

The time blocking tool in my RondaReady CRM system helped my client batch those daily tasks. And she told me, today, instead of feeling like the sharks are circling she feels like she’s safe in her speed boat.

I hope you’re staying shark free. But if you see fins in the water, I can help.

Limited time offer is for everything you sell and even you

Limited Time Offer

Act Now…While Supplies Last…Offer Ending Soon – You’ve no doubt seen all the various forms of the limited time offer. Right? We all have. Those different ways businesses tell you to take action before it’s too late. Sure, it’s a sales strategy. But it’s also a way to reward you, if you’re READY to take your products, or services, or information to a whole ‘nother level.

Limited time offer

There’s a reason why the limited time offer works.

You and I both know everyone one of us is a limited time offer. You only get so much time here on planet Earth. So it makes sense to get things or get things done while the gettin’ is good. And that’s why it works so well to use that as part of a marketing strategy. It strikes a chord. Maybe not always a pleasant-sounding chord, but it strikes one anyway.

That’s why I gotta ask? Are you still on the fence about being ready (or ARE you sort of ready) to scale things up? Then, I encourage, urge, and remind you to get my RondaReady all-in-one business coaching and CRM system right away. There’s no time like the present to get started. Especially since the present is the only time you do anything about.

Waiting till tomorrow means you’ve let one more day go by for your competitors to get a jump on you. You’ve let another day of opportunity pass you by. Another day of grinding it out in the same way.

Another day…gone.

So, if you’ve been looking for an affordable business coach and/or CRM system, AND you’ve been putting off getting started, don’t put it off anymore. I can help you build your business better, have more money, more time, and most importantly…more freedom. Even if I keep the prices the same for the rest of my life, it’s still a limited time offer. Don’t wait, and…

Job interviews and the dreaded question you can avoid

Job Interviews

I remember, way back in the day, going for job interviews and getting that dreaded question…

Job interviews

“Where do you see yourself five years from now?”

Did that ever happen to you? If so, were you prepared with an answer? And was it always the same answer? Or did you fumble around for a different one each time?

Either way, it can be almost impossible to picture yourself one year from now, let alone five years. Right? And when you don’t have a clear picture of where you wanna be later on, it can really build up negative thoughts…those nagging little voices in your head.

Is that happening to you in your job or your business? Well, how would you like a bridge you can cross from where you are now to being your BEST self? I’m talking about a bridge you can cross anytime to get back to positive thoughts and actions. Do you think that could help get a better picture of where you’ll be five years from now? And wouldn’t that be better than going on those job interviews?

In my RondaReady all-in-one online business coaching and CRM system I help you get back to your best self. And you’ll be surprised out how quickly you’ll be able to turn things around with some practice. Good new is…you won’t have to practice alone. I serve it all up in video lessons. So, I’m right there with you. An encouraging guide to help you through each step.

Like I always say, “Why go it alone when you don’t have to?” When you’re ready to say no to job interview and the dreaded questions, then say yes to solid systems and guided help.

Remember…I’m here to help you build your business better, have more money, time, and freedom.

Solid systems separate the winners from the wannabe’s

Solid Systems

Here’s a quote I like: “All great business owners are successful because they build solid systems to help them form better habits.”

Know who said that? Me. It’s part of what I talk about in one of the first videos of my RondaReady online business coaching and CRM system. I also mention how “habits can make or break you.”It’s really a matter of where you focus.

Solid systems

And business owners and entrepreneurs who subscribe to RondaReady get 5 focus tools. They’re simple to understand and implement…and yet, powerful enough to change your life. With all the digital distraction you have these days, it’s more important than ever to keep your focus. I’m confident my tools can help you get more focused much faster.

You can get those 5 tools, and SO much more. You’ll discover how to turn your business into a smooth-running, less stressful, money-making machine for about 5 bucks a day. Try getting an assistant to work for 5 bucks a day. And I’m talking about 24 hours a day, not just 8. Not only will you get a personalized CRM…I’ll also show you how to set it up and use it. Like I always say, “Why go it alone, when you don’t have to?” I think you’ll love my encouraging and instructive video lessons.

By the way, you can get an even more affordable and strategical investment in your business by choosing the Annual Option. Just a little over 3 bucks a day. You’d have a hard time getting a fast food breakfast for that. And my course is much healthier for you and your business.

I’m here to help you build your business better, have more money, time, and freedom. Don’t wait another day to get started. Remember, it’s solid systems that separate the winners from the wannabe’s.
