Pursue your passion like your hair's on fire

“Your life will be much more fulfilling when you pursue your purpose. And that purpose is to serve others the best way your special gifts will allow.” I said that just about this time last year. And it still applies. In fact, it always will apply.

And when I say “pursue,” I mean go for it like your hair’s on fire. Imagine how fast you could find a solution (aka: water or some other non-flammable liquid) if you suddenly discovered flames coming off your head. Uh-huh. You’d get it done.

Right?!

Yeah, you gotta use your gifts to pursue your purpose.

If you’re not sure what your gifts are, ask your friends and family. I’ll bet they’re willing to help you figure it out. And don’t worry about that special knucklehead friend or family member who’ll wanna make fun. You might even get something valuable out of him. Or her (but it’s almost always a him…right?).

And when you zero in on your gifts, hone ’em. Turn them into the skills you can use to build the life you’ve always dreamed of for yourself. Then, start living it. Keep your head up, look forward, and make that change. Why?

Because there ain’t nobody else who’s gonna pursue your purpose for you. It’s all on you. And that’s perfect, because it’s the only way you can get credit for your hard work. But I’ll let you in on a little not-so-secret secret.

Just because it’s “all on you” doesn’t mean you have to start from scratch and go it alone. In fact, that’s what I’ve been asking for I don’t know how long. Why go it alone, when you don’t have to?

And you don’t have to because I created my RondaReady system so entrepreneurs and business owners could plug right into the business building tools they need.

And get going better and faster.

But if you’re not ready to invest in yourself on that level (and I wonder why you wouldn’t think you’re worth it), at least jump in on my monthly UNversity classes. They’ll be starting up next month (February) on the first Thursday. And they’ll continue on the first Thursday of each of the following months.

Stay tuned because I’ll be announcing when and where you can enroll in the RondaReady UNversity, shortly.

So, Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

Because I truly do wanna help you…

Stay Ready,

Resolutions are bad for hundreds of thousands of business owners

Here we are in the first week of 2021. And so many entrepreneurs and business owners are doing the same thing they did in previous years. But, sadly, most of them are still gonna get the same negative results. And that’s why I say resolutions are bad for most people. Because they don’t tend to set up a system to make sure their resolutions have a chance at success. And resolve turns into re-solve.

Resolutions are bad for hundreds of thousands of business owners

So resolutions are bad when they’re just history repeating itself.

And that’s how I came up with that clever play on words…resolve turns into re-solve.

When you face the same problems in 2021 as you did in 2020, it could be you’re trying to re-solve the same problems. And, according to feedback I get every year from my clients and customers, those problems fall into three main categories.

Time management (which I like to call schedule control). Getting organized. And getting clients.

This month I’m introducing my amazingly affordable RondaReady UNversity. It’s where I’ll provide ongoing coaching sessions for entrepreneurs and business owners who need and want to master those three categories. And enrollment isn’t open quite yet. So, get on my email list if you’d like to be notified when it’ll be ready. Because there’ll be deadlines for signing up each month.

In the first month’s session, which will be the first Thursday of February, the focus will be on time management. And since we’re at the beginning of 2021 it’s a great time to start your enrollment.

I’ll be sharing tips and tools you can use to actually accomplish what you’d like to see happen this year. One of those tools is what I call your Accomplishment Board. I shared a little bit about how it works this time last year. And I mentioned how writing it down helps give you laser focus. I said…

“And I encourage you to write them down in the PAST tense. As though you’ve already accomplished them. It’s much more empowering to say things like, ‘I am’ or ‘I did’ or ‘I have’ than to say things like, ‘I want’ or ‘I need” Gets your subconscious working better.

Only about three percent of the population writes down goals.

And it’s that three percent who tend to get what they want out of life. So, it’s worth it to take the time. Write your accomplishments down. Break ’em down into small steps. And get what you’re after this year. Make it a great year.”

I’ll be diving even deeper into time management in the first RondaReady UNversity session. But, like I said, you gotta sign up before the deadline…which I’ll announce soon. So, be sure to get on my email list, if you’re not on it already, to be notified with more details.

And then…Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

Because I truly do wanna help you…

Stay Ready,

First Monday of the New Year. Let's plant some trees.

I feel sorry for the first day of the work week. Because it can’t help where it was placed on your calendar. And it never did anything to anyone. Because…well…because it’s a day. And days don’t have any power over us humans. Unless we give it to them. Right? And the reason I bring it up is because, as I share this, it’s the first Monday of a brand new year.

And there’s no dark cloud over my first Monday.

Because, years ago, I decided to set up the infrastructure for my business. And that’s just a fancy shmancy word for “System.” I read an article from a well-known business blogger, Seth Godin, about infrastructure. And he ended the article with a quotable sentence.

“We need to plant our trees before we want the shade, and fix our systems before they break.”

So, that’s what I mean about what I did years ago. I planted those trees for my business. And now I’m enjoying quite a bit of shade. Because those “trees” have lots of “leaves” (aka automation and delegation). And I took the time to set it up, so I don’t have to take the time every day.

But when you first start, it seems like so much work you’ll never get it done. And that’s what separates winners from losers. Winners understand how an upfront time investment means a big time payoff, eventually.

And that word “eventually” is where losers drop out. Because eventually isn’t today. And so many people (even entrepreneurs and business owners) want success right now.

How about you?

Do you want the quick fix? The adrenaline rush of marketing gurus and their “get paid to do nothing” promises? If so, my RondaReady system is definitely not for you.

But if you want to “plant trees” that’ll eventually give you tons of shade, you won’t find a better system in the universe. Yes, I’m biased. But it’s true.

So, Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business. This first Monday of 2021 is the perfect time to get going.

I can help you…

Stay Ready,

Look back at 2020 with rose colored glasses and a smile

They say hindsight is 2020. And that’s ironic. Because many, if not most, people are gonna look back at 2020 and be glad it’s over. And I certainly get that. It’s been filled with challenges. So, it’s only natural to wanna sweep it out the door and forget about it. But I think I have a better idea. And I believe it’s better for your emotional, mental, and even physical health.

Look back at 2020 with rose-colored glasses and a smile.

Because you’re still here. Right? And you’re still able to sit or stand, take nourishment, and face challenges. And I’d like you to tell me a year in your life when you didn’t face challenges. So, in that way, 2020 was no different.

I don’t even remember how many times I’ve heard someone say to someone else (or even say to me), “Oh you just see the world through rose-colored glasses.” And they always say it like it’s a bad thing. And I guess, to them, it IS. Because they believe it means someone doesn’t see the realities of life. But you know what? Just because you don’t wanna focus on those harsh realities doesn’t mean you don’t know they exist.

And I prefer not to focus on those harsh realities. My preference is to focus on solutions. And I love rose-colored glasses. In fact, I own a pair of sunglasses with a rosy tint. And they make everything look smooth and nice. And that’s a lot better on my face. Because I don’t have to squint my eyes and scrunch my face to see. And that makes me happy.

Now, don’t those sound like emotional, mental, and even physical benefits?

Sure, you can look back at this past year with a scrunched up face. And you can look back and gripe about all the restrictions and weird challenges in the world. But will that kind of attitude change even one second of 2020?

Nope.

The only thing you or I can change is today. Which helps change tomorrow. And the next day…and so on.

And that’s a great way to start off a new year. Because it puts you in the driver’s seat when it comes to time management. Which, as it just so happens, is what I’ll be talking about in my first RondaReady UNversity session. Coming up the first Thursday in February. I’m setting up the registration page right now. So, be sure to stay tuned because you’re gonna wanna enroll as soon as possible. There will be strict deadlines.

In the meantime, you can jump ahead of the class (and all other classes) when you opt for my RondaReady system. It’s the proven system I’ve been telling you about, all this time. And it’s the best one, in the universe, to help you Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

So, in 2021, let me help you…

Stay Ready,
Ronda

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Finish strong or coast along

You’ve probably already heard this. And maybe you hear it every year around this time. Because it’s sort of like an end of the year mantra. Experts and motivational speakers tell you to “Finish Strong.” And there’s really nothing wrong with that I suppose. But I have another take on it. And I think it’s a much healthier way to look at it. And…I think even Einstein would agree with me.

Finish strong or coast along

Finish strong if want.

But only if that’s what you want.

I read an article that said Einstein took a year off from high school. And during that time he was able to contemplate the world without the pressure of exams or other similar responsibilities. And the article also said he definitely went back to high school because of his obsession with science. But he went back with a better understanding of the world.

Einstein learned to sail when he was a teenager. Apparently he wasn’t all that good at it. But he attributed much of his productivity and ideas to his relaxing time at sea. In fact, he wrote a letter to friends while he was on board a cruise ship in 1932. From somewhere near Panama he wrote, “A cruise in the sea, is an excellent opportunity for maximum calm and reflection on ideas from a different perspective.”

Even his wife saw a difference in him when they sailed. On that same letter Einstein wrote, she wrote on the back side, “There is no other place where my husband is so relaxed, sweet, serene and detached from routine distractions, the ship carries him far away.”

In case you didn’t know this, Albert Einstein won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1921. And in the following year, he toured Spain, Palestine, Japan, and even China. During that tour he wrote, “How conducive to thinking and working the long sea voyage is—a paradisiacal state without correspondence, visits, meetings, and other inventions of the devil!”

Imagine that. Or maybe you don’t have to imagine. Maybe all your emails, meetings, and other business related duties feel like “inventions of the devil” right about now. And maybe you’d like to cruise through the end of the year. If so, here’s my advice…

It’s your business. Cruise if you want.

Because you’ve worked hard all year. And you’ve earned the right to finish smooth. And who knows? Maybe your thinking and working will start the new year off stronger than ever because you relaxed.

Of course, if your business didn’t go all that well this year, it might seem possible to cruise. And if that’s the case, I recommend my RondaReady system. I designed it so you can plug your business in and Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

If that’s how you’d like to start out in 2021, let me help you…

Stay Ready,

What will you do with the end of the year?

Yeah, it’s a silly play on the 80’s song by R.E.M. But somehow it seems appropriate. Because here we are at the end of the year as we know it. And just about everybody I talk to, or read on social media, seems to be glad 2020 is almost gone. No sad good-byes. Just good riddance. Have you noticed that?

But even the end of the year, for 2020, is still an opportunity.

At least for anyone who’s interested in looking for (and at) solutions. And I believe that’s always important. Because I dare you to find a year in your life when you don’t or won’t have any problems. If you live in the real world, you’re gonna experience real problems.

So, in that way, 2020 was no different than any other year in history.

And, like I said, another way it’s no different is how the end of the year is an opportunity. For your vision. And for your focus.

As I mentioned yesterday (if you’re keeping track), a lot of people…including business owners and entrepreneurs…just sort of let this last week of the year pass. And they figure everyone else is doing the same thing. And that’s your opportunity.

Because you can almost magically change this last week into the first week of your new year. And it only takes a mindset change and a few minutes of your day.

You might have noticed, on your computer or smartphone, how your calendar app scrolls through the months like all the days are seamlessly connected. And that’s pretty cool, because all your days ARE seamlessly connected. Even those two days that end one year and start another.

So, get your mind set on how you can be seamless, too.

Connect your vision from this year with your focus on the new year. Or even adjust your vision and focus if necessary. Because this year might have thrown you some curves that require adjustments. But either way, take time to write it down these last few days of 2020.

And then set up action steps. Because plans without action are just ideas. And even the best ideas go nowhere without action.

By the way…my RondaReady system can help you get it all organized. From vision to action. And so much faster than you trying to do it all from scratch. Sure, it takes work. But there’s no time like the start of a new year to get started.

So, Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

Get RondaReady, and…

Week after Christmas big time for business owners not asleep at the wheel

‘Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the land…business owners were sleeping ’cause their week was not planned. Oh no. If that even remotely sounds like you, then you should have gotten a lump of coal under your Christmas tree. Just kidding. Sort of…

Because the slow week after Christmas can help give you the edge.

But only if you had it planned that way. And only if you work that plan while those other business owners are only asleep at the wheel. With visions of sugar plum fairies still dancing in their heads.

Nothing against sugar plum fairies. But I’ve never seen a successful business owner who relied on ’em.

And just in case you didn’t catch my drift yet, I’m talking about daydreaming. It has its place. But not necessarily during a slow time like the week following Christmas. Because that’s the week so many business owners and entrepreneurs drop the ball. They think everything’s gonna be slow everywhere. So, they slack off, too.

But I know you. And you don’t fall for such silliness. Right?

You understand the race is to the swift. And to the prepared. And to the planners.

So, you’re probably all set with your computer fired up. And your leftover cookies by your side. And your RondaReady system opened up to the next steps for your business.

What’s that? You don’t have the RondaReady system opened up to the next steps for your business?! And that’s because why?! Because you don’t even have it yet?!

Well, first let me say I’m shocked that no one cared enough about you to get you the RondaReady system for Christmas. But I’d like to add that all is not lost. But you should get it right now so you’ll leap into 2021 with a head start. OK…are you still here? What are you waiting for? Go get the system…

Because I truly do wanna help you…

Invest in people for a more wonderful life

A friend of mine told me there’s a family movie tradition at his house for Christmas. And it’s how they watch the same three or four Christmas themed movies every year. And they always end up with “It’s A Wonderful Life.” If you haven’t seen that one, you must be new to our country. Because George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart’s character) is famous in these parts. His story is so great because it shows how when you invest in people, it can pay you back in dividends.

George Bailey spent most of the first half of his life trying to get away from his little hometown of Bedford Falls. But circumstances always pulled him back in. And it wasn’t just because he had no other choices. It was because George cared about people. His friends. And neighbors. And, of course, all his Building and Loan customers.

George made a fiery speech I like.

It was directed at mean ol’ Mr. Potter. And it shows how much he cared about people. It was when the Building and Loan board of directors met, after his father’s death, to decide the fate of the company. Mr. Potter was in a hurry to dissolve the Building and Loan, and George said…

“Just a minute – just a minute. Now, hold on, Mr. Potter. Just a minute. Now, you’re right when you say my father was no business man. I know that. Why he ever started this cheap, penny-ante Building and Loan, I’ll never know. But neither you nor anybody else can say anything against his character, because his whole life was — Why, in the twenty-five years since he and Uncle Billy started this thing, he never once thought of himself. Isn’t that right, Uncle Billy? And he didn’t save enough money to send Harry to school, let alone me. But he did help a few people get outta your slums, Mr. Potter. And what’s wrong with that? Why…here, you’re all businessmen here. Don’t it make them better citizens? Doesn’t it make them better customers?”

Yes, invest in people because nothing gets made without ’em.

And nothing gets bought without ’em either. What are stocks, bonds, commodities? And what are products, services, customers, and clients? They’re all forms of relationships between and among people.

In my RondaReady system I talk about and share lots of information about building and maintaining relationships. And the best part is, the system helps serious business owners and entrepreneurs stay on top of the whole process.

And when you get that kind of control going for you, it’s a wonderful life.

That’s why I truly do wanna help you Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your business.

Stay Ready,
Ronda
