Cowardly lion marathon runner runs one block and then into success

This cowardly lion got a wake up call from her doctor.

In the movie, Britney Runs A Marathon, the main character discovers she’s been living a lie. And she decides, after her doctor warns her about her health, that she’s not gonna continue to be unhappy with herself. She sees how she hasn’t been following her passion. And, in fact, her cowardly lion approach to life actually put her on the path of self-destructive behavior.

Cowardly lion marathon runner runs one block and then into success

Like the cowardly lion in Wizard of Oz, she finds courage.

But her success doesn’t happen overnight.

When she takes the first steps toward better health, there’s a scene when she looks down the block in her neighborhood in New York City. And instead of giving in to the feeling that it’s just too much, she says to herself,

”Just one block.”

And from that simple three word statement, it took her over 2 years to be ready to run the New York City Marathon. With some huge physical and emotional setbacks along the way.

There’s also a scene where her brother-in-law tells her she needs to learn how to
“let people in” and “let others help.” Because she lashes out at others all the time. It’s almost like an automatic response for her.

And I won’t tell you more, in case you want to watch it.

But as I watched the movie, I thought of how most business owners are Britneys. Cowardly lions who somehow find the courage to start a business. But often losing courage along the way. Not letting people in, people who can help. And too often they forget to focus on “just one block.”

If that’s you, my RondaReady business coach CRM system has already set up all the blocks. I don’t want you to wait anymore to be happy. And I DO want to help you get ready to run your marathon, and…

2020 business ideas for Santa

Santa’s Brilliant 2020 Business Ideas

I know it’s Christmas, and you’d probably rather open presents, eat cookies, or do anything besides read this. (Me too!) But I HAVE to tell you about this crazy little guy who showed up at my door a few nights ago. He was only about 4 feet tall. And he had weird ears and bells on his shoes. And when I opened the door, he immediately started rambling off something about 2020 business ideas.

Being a business coach I’ve been thinking about 2020 business ideas, too. But this was weird…

So, I asked the little guy who he was. And get this…he said he was a messenger from Santa! Yeah, right. Even though the little guy could see my skepticism he kept going with his story.

Apparently, Santa’s not as quick as he used to be. And he’s worried about keeping up with everybody now. He told his assistant how it bothers him that everyone has smartphones. I guess he’s always been able to keep everybody’s Christmas wishes in his head. But now everybody’s so spread out, on social media, and making lists of their own.

So, Santa’s feeling the numbers crunch of just keeping up with all that extra digital data. The little guy at my door said there needs to be more elves. But Santa doesn’t have an efficient way of bringing more on board. And the work is really stacked up.

So the little guy said Santa wanted my advice.

Can you believe that? He wanted me to give him some business management tips he could take back to Santa. And he hoped it would help them have a successful trip this Christmas, too. I hated to tell him how I doubt they could change things that fast. But who am I to say Santa couldn’t get ‘er done?

Of course, being the system savant I am, I did more than tell the little guy some tips he could pass on to Santa. I gave him a copy of my .

And I told him, If he needs more advice and help, he should book a call with me. Wouldn’t that be something? Instead of me whispering in Santa’s ear what I want for Christmas…he’d be talking in mine finding out how to automate and delegate more of his workload. How cool would that be?

I also mentioned to the little guy how my business coach CRM system has already done all the “heavy lifting” for him. So, it’s a fantastic way for him to build his Christmas delivery business much better and faster.

In other words…if he plans his work and works his plan (that my system will help him with), he won’t have to lay off 50% of the elves! Because there’ll more work than ever since the business will be running smooth as figgy pudding.

Anyway, that’s what I shared with the little guy.

And I won’t know until sometime on Christmas…or maybe around New Year’s Eve…whether Santa was able to get more done in less time this year. Hopefully he’ll pay attention, read the book, implement the strategies, and you’ll find your presents under the tree.

Or maybe you’re reading this, and it’s already happened. If so, way to go Santa!

By the way, Merry Christmas. And now let’s look forward to 2020.

Stay Ready,

Time away from work can be such sweet anticipation

Be a plannerator and schedule some quality time away from work next year

While spontaneity can be great, you deserve to anticipate. You like that? I just made it up. And it’s a nice rhyme to help you remember something I believe is so important to your health. And the health of your business. Plan for what I call, recovery time. Because time away from work has several benefits.

Time away from work can be such sweet anticipation

Plan ahead for time away from work and…

  • Get better travel deals
  • Accommodate staff, clients, family, and yourself 1000% better
  • Your mind gets a break to be creative again
  • Most importantly, spend time with those closest to you

And there’s another intangible, invisible benefit to planning ahead. Something you might not think of at all. But it can lift you, mentally, for days, weeks, and even months ahead of time. What is this magic force? Anticipation. And I’m not kidding. “But how can anticipation help anything?” you ask.

Well, here’s an excerpt about it from an article written by Steven Handle:

The Power of Anticipation: Why We All Need Something to Look Forward To

“We all need something to look forward to in life. In fact, a healthy sense of “anticipation” can often help energize our lives, and even help us get through tough times. While living in the present is a very beneficial thing – sometimes the present can feel a bit annoying, frustrating, tedious, or intolerable.

The key idea is that by creating new rewards in your life – or by actively looking for things to look forward to – you can build more discipline and motivation in any area of your life where you are lacking.”

Carly Simon wrote a song about the power of anticipation. In fact, she called it “Anticipation.” And the message was so powerful Heinz Ketchup used it in a commercial. They wanted to convey the feeling that their ketchup is so good it’s well worth waiting for.

And Anticipation did that perfectly.

By the way, I not only anticipate the change in price for my RondaReady business coach CRM system I can pretty much guarantee it’s gonna happen this week. So, if you wanna get help building your business better and faster, invest in the system now. Or, after this week, I don’t want to anticipate how much you’ll regret waiting. So get RondaReady right now, and…

Stop planning on planning

Stop planning on planning

If you’ve followed me and worked with me for any time at all, you know I’m big on planning. But it’s important to DO, too. In other words, stop planning on planning. And start doing. Here’s why: “If you employed study, thinking, and planning time daily, you could develop and use the power that can change the course of your destiny.” ~William Clement Stone: businessman & self-help book author.

Stop planning to do.

That’s probably the only time I’ll advise you against planning.

My clients know how I repeat myself about time management. And how important it is to trade non-productive, time-sucking habits for habits that’ll save you more time, more money, and give you more freedom.

It’s not just a clever catchphrase. It’s vital to the health of your business as well as your personal health. And one of the key habits you can work on is Planning. You’ve probably heard the old saying that goes something like: “Plan your work and work your plan.” Right?

Regardless of what business you run or hope to run, if you don’t make a plan, you’re creating a recipe for almost certain disaster.

And if you don’t work your plan, your recipe will blow up.

There are over 75 sections in my RondaReady business coach CRM system. And in one way or another, they’re all connected to planning. That’s how important it is. And the best part of that is…you don’t have to figure out how to change all your habits and plan out your business by yourself.

I love to hear the success stories of my clients. How they got back so much of their time. Or they increased revenue by tens of thousands of dollars. And how they feel more in control.

You can be, and should be, one of those success stories, too. Let me help you plan your work and work your plan. Get my RondaReady system working for you today, and…

Unique selling proposition

– Your unique selling proposition –
Be a dingy…not a freighter

The first thing I wanna ask you, today, is…what kind of customer are you looking for? Do you have somebody in mind? Or do you think your products, services, and information are great for everybody? Well, guess what hot-shot. They’re not. But don’t feel bad. That’s true for every business owner. So, think of it this way. You and your business are unique. And that can work to your advantage, if you work on your unique selling proposition. A fancy way of saying “here’s why I’m different and why it matters to you Mr. Customer.”

Just about any unique selling proposition falls under three main categories.

  1. Price
  2. Value
  3. Uniqueness

And where you position your business will determine what kind of customer you will attract.

For example, on my way to my first client meeting this morning I passed a window company truck. And on the side of the truck, in big white letters, was the message “Windows For Less.” So, what category does their message fall under? If you said #1 Price, give yourself a nice pat on the back. Let’s do another example…

You’re walking in the neighborhood, near the dog park. And you see a step-van with a painting on the side that says, “Mobile Paw Spa”. Which category would that selling proposition fall under? If you said, “Duh, #3 Uniqueness” give yourself a treat. Good boy (or girl). Sorry…couldn’t resist.

One category isn’t necessarily better than the others.

But it’s important to be clear from the beginning. Because it’ll help you keep your finger on the pulse of those you want to attract. One thing about selling on price, though. Remember, there’s almost always a competitor out there who’s willing to offer an even lower price. That’s what’s known as a race to the bottom. And you don’t wanna win that race. Not only is it a tough way to stay in business…it’s just plain no fun.

There’s a lot of fish in a lot a bodies of water out there. And you don’t need or want all of them. It’s better to be a dinghy on a small lake than a freighter in the giant ocean.

So here’s what I recommend…

  • Decide what kind of customer you want to attract
  • Create your unique selling proposition based on that information, and
  • Build your systems to support solid strategies to deliver on your promises

And in case you hadn’t noticed, I have a proven system to help you do all that and…

Where you are doesn't have to be where you end up.

Is it tense where you are?

Have you ever walked an untrained, big dog on a leash? Take it from me, it’s no fun. Because the constant tension on the leash can tire your arms out faster than you can say “roll over.” But compare that with dogs that are trained to be aware of where you are. They stay close by your side so well you hardly even feel the leash in your hand. And that makes the walk so much more enjoyable.

In life, knowing where you are can ease other kinds of tension.

If your present circumstances are tense, maybe you’ve moved away from your training. Or your skills. Maybe even your vision. It happens. Life is full of distractions. And no one’s immune. But the difference between you and those who fail is…you’re not gonna give up just because the going got tough.

You know what it feels like to accomplish goals, or you wouldn’t have a business at all. So, don’t let those little doubt demons talk you out of believing in yourself and your business. You can either choose to be your own worst enemy or your own best friend. Going the friend route is much easier on your body, mind, and soul. And you can work on it a couple of ways.

  1. Remember your original vision for you and your business.
  2. Put together an organized plan to help you get there.

For example, let’s say your business feels like that untrained dog I mentioned before. You could try to ignore the strain. Or resign yourself to dealing with it because that’s just the way it is. Or you could choose to remove the constant tension.

Because constant tension can break down even the best of us.

So, using the dog analogy again, instead of dealing with the straining leash, take your dog to an obedience class. Or hire a professional trainer. You could even get a book, and learn how to train the dog yourself. Regardless of which way you use, the important thing is training. It benefits you because it gives your arm a break from the strain. And it benefits your dog because it finally knows what’s expected and doesn’t have to choke on a leash anymore.

That special training is available for your business, too. The RondaReady business coach CRM system can help you take the strain off your mind, body, and soul. It can help you go from where you are back to where you wanna be. Maybe it can even help you get a new “leash” on life. (see what I did there?) And for sure, it can help you…

Reverse engineering for better business results

Reverse engineering – look back and go forward

To be clear, when I say reverse engineering, I’m not talking about some manufacturing or invention process. But I think your business can benefit a lot from the methods reverse engineers use to design something new. And since it’s the end of 2019 as I write this, it’s a good time of year to look back at what worked well. Because you can use that information for goal setting and forecasting next year.

So, how does reverse engineering work for your business?

Well, first…how do you track your performance? Do you have a system in place to track your different marketing units? And do you know what your three different business marketing units are? Because that data can give you laser like focus for next year.

Of course, it’s so important to understand how much effort and time it’ll take to reach your revenue goals. In other words, measure your conversion data. When you reverse engineer your conversion data, you can better project future revenue results. It’s kinda like the old tootsie roll pop commercials. How many licks does it take to get to the middle? Your “licks” are points of contact. How many of those does it take to get an appointment? And how many appointments to get a consultation meeting? Then, how many meetings to get the contract? And, finally how many contracts turn into closed business? See what I mean?

This is a large part of your role as the CEO and visionary of your business.

And in case it seems a little overwhelming, here’s some good news. My RondaReady business coach CRM system can help you figure out how many licks it takes to get the results you want. And I’m confident you’ll even enjoy making it happen as you…

The Wedding Syndrome and RondaReady

Skip the business wedding syndrome

Have you ever heard of the wedding syndrome? A couple meets. They fall in love. And they decide to get married. Then, they spend who knows how much money. And for a year or two or even more, they plan an extravagant wedding. It’s extraordinary. And usually those weddings are just breathtakingly beautiful and wonderful. But then something goes wrong.

The wedding syndrome strikes about 60% of married couples.

Yeah, that’s a sad percentage of failed marriages. And it makes me wonder (hopefully it makes you wonder, too) why that is. Why do so many couples plan so much for the wedding. But then, they spend no time planning for the relationship. And they have no ideas about what happens after the ceremony’s over.

Like when a baby comes into the picture. What are the plans for raising kids? Is there a likeminded value system?

Or how about when somebody decides they want to change careers? And the other one has to pick up the slack with working and bringing home the bacon.

And how about all the typical dynamics of the extended families?

Without planning, so many couples drift and fall apart.

And the same thing is true when you’re talking about business. Development programs. Business coaching. Everybody gets real hyped up on the marketing. One company can help you ramp up your search engine optimization and get in front of lots more potential clients and customers. Another company promises leads till the cows come home. And still another one insists social media marketing is IT.

Marketing is huge. I’m not gonna deny it. And we cover marketing in the RondaReady online business coach CRM system. But marketing isn’t everything. Because, what happens when the clients and customers start rolling in and you don’t have a solid foundation? Will you be ready to treat them so you can keep them for a lifetime? And I’m talking about lifetime Repeat business and lifetime Referral business.

A lot of money spent on “the wedding” and no real investment in the relationship.

And what happens? Your reputation starts to drop. Because you’re scattered and not servicing your clients and customers well. Sure, you’re making money. But do you have any time? No!

And when money and time are mutually exclusive…what do you really have? You certainly don’t have freedom. Do you? No.

So, that’s what sets the RondaReady System apart. We help you build for that relationship. Yes, we’re gonna have a nice “wedding” too. Of course. That’s important. And we all look forward to that. But it’s the relationship that counts for the long haul. You want things to last. Right? And we can help you and your communication to be so good that you’ll be head and shoulders above your competition.

Your repeat and referral business can increase dramatically. And when that happens, all the money you thought you’d have to spend GETTING business can now be spent on SERVING better.

Let me help you build those relationships better and faster. And you’ll be ready to nurture them for the long haul and…

Stay Ready,
Ronda

Shadow me is not a dependable employee training method.

Shadow me – not so much

Lorrie suddenly quit her job. Because enough was enough. And it wasn’t actually so sudden. She’d given it “the ol’ college try”. But after multiple weeks of frustration at her new job, she threw in the towel. And it wasn’t because the job was too much for her. Her anxiety and frustration were due to the disorganized lack of training. The person assigned to train her used the old “shadow me” method of job training. And, as predictable as it almost always is, that went over like a lead balloon.

So, why doesn’t the shadow me method work?

Good workers are willing to be lead. In fact, as a new worker in a new job, you need guidance. So, that’s not the problem. Problem is, people wanna work with people…and follow people…who make them feel confident. And you don’t feel confident when you’re just being a shadow. Especially when the person you follow spends most of the time “putting out fires.” Right?

I’m not kidding about this. I’ve heard this more times than I can count, when it comes to the hiring and training section of my RondaReady online business coach CRM system.  “I’ll just have them shadow me.”

Hmm…OK, on your bright and shiny business days, shadow time might be fine. But what about all those overcast business days? Those times when new and unforeseen issues pop up. And you’ve got to come up with solutions. Those are times when it’s so much fun to have someone shadowing you. Right? Not!

So, where does the shadow go when your day gets cloudy?

That’s probably anybody’s guess. Wherever it is, it’s probably costing you money. Because now you have a new employee who doesn’t have enough (or anything productive) to do. And without a backup plan in place, ahead of time, you’ve just added fuel to those fires you’re trying to put out.

But guess what? Jump on board with my proven system today, and I can help you be ready to put out the fires. Let’s talk some more about it. Book a free call with me in the calendar below, and…

See your goals and overcome your obstacles.

Can you actually SEE your goals?

A friend of mine told me about a cabinet project he did in his house a few years ago. And the story sounded a lot like what I tell my clients, so I’m gonna share it with you. It’s all about being able to see your goals so you can overcome obstacles.

See your goals first.

Then, you’ll know where to start. In a section of my RondaReady online business coach CRM system I lay out 5 guidelines for getting a clear vision for you and your business. And one of those guidelines is about actually seeing your goals. You can think about your goals. And you can talk about them with your friends and family. In fact, you can actually write them down. But if you can’t actually see them, it’s like trying to arrange your furniture in a a dark room.

So, back to that story my friend told me about his cabinet.

He said he used to get his morning coffee, sit in his favorite leather chair, and read some news. AND every few minutes he’d look up at a very large empty wall on the other side of the living room. He and his wife knew they didn’t want to fill up the wall with a hundred pictures. So, he started to envision some custom cabinetry to cover the whole wall.

Fortunately, he has professional carpenter skills. And one of those mornings he stared at the wall and Boom! He could SEE the entire finished project in his head. Didn’t even have to draw up any plans. He told me it was like a high definition picture in his mind.

And a couple of months later, there was a finished cabinet for books, an enclosed media/TV center, and built-in surround sound.

Accomplished goals follow clear vision.

No matter what business you’re in, or what dreams you have, you’ve gotta be able to see them clearly in your mind. And you can’t be vague. Because it’s gotta be specific AND measurable. My proven system can help you clarify, measure, and…
