Second half factoids for people who wonder

July starts the second half of the year, and it’s the seventh month of the year. And you history buffs probably know that it’s the seventh month on both the Julian and Gregorian Calendars. Plus, it’s the fourth (of seven) month to have 31 days.

Did you know July is named for Julius Caesar? You remember him, right? He was that famous Roman general who said “Veni, vidi, vici.” Or, for you English speaking readers, “I came, I saw, I conquered.”

Well, apparently July was the month little Julio (aka Julius) was born. So, the Roman Senate voted to declare the seventh month, which was called Quintilis, July in his honor. Actually I’m kinda glad they did that. Because can you imagine calling America’s Independence Day the Fourth of Quintilis? Yikes.

The second half of the year, here in the Northern Hemisphere, starts out HOT.

Of course, for you down under neighbors, July is one of your coldest times. And for those of you who celebrate birthdays in July, your birthstone is the ruby. And your birth flower is either the larkspur or water lily. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone bought you a ruby and a bouquet of larkspurs and water lilies?

In case it matters at all to you, anyone born before July 22 is the Zodiac sign of Cancer. And anyone born on July 23 and after is a Leo.

Oh yeah, one more thing that happens in July. On the seventh, to be exact. And that’s my monthly UNversity class. This month I’m sharing a how-to class on the topic of hiring the right person for your business. UNversity video classes are on the first Thursday of each month. This month, that’s the 7th.

But if you haven’t already signed up for the class, you missed it. Because the deadline to sign up for classes is always at midnight of the last day of the preceding month. And that was yesterday. June 30.

That’s the bad news for anyone who didn’t meet the deadline. Good news is, you can sign up anytime in July and be Ready for the class on the first Thursday in August. And UNversity subscribers can email me with their questions about setting up their business System. And I answer them personally.

So, when you’re Ready to Veni, vidi, vici, sign up.

There’s a world to conquer.

Let’s Caesar together. Starting on this first day of the second half of 2022. Click or tap the link below. Enroll in UNversity, today.

Stay Ready,
Ronda

Fifty Fifty? No, I like better odds than that.

OK, half now. And half later. When “they” say the odds are even, they usually say they’re “fifty fifty.” You’ve heard that. Right? And maybe you’re thinkin’, “What’s that got to do with anything you ever talk about, Ronda?” Well, thanks for asking. And I’ll explain.

Because we’re at that fifty fifty point of 2022.

Yeah, time flies when you’re havin’ fun. Or dealing with tons of new challenges. But it still seems like only a few blinks ago it was the “new year.” And if you’ve lived for longer than a couple of decades, you know how time seems to speed up more and more the longer you live.

And you probably feel like that sped up feeling makes everything more challenging than ever. But the reality is, you still have the same 24 hours every day that everyone else has. The same 24 hours a day you’ve had your whole life.

Sure, your challenges might be totally unique to you and your business or industry. Not likely. But maybe. Still, your business has a couple of things in common with every other business.

You’re in business to serve others and make money. Right?

So, it’s pretty simple. Do what you do. Serve your market or audience or clients or customers well. And increased sales and profits should be your results.

And maybe your results have been fantabulous so far.

Maybe even so fantabulous that you need to hire some help. If so, that’s more than fantabulous. It’s a solid confirmation you’re doing something right.

But it’s important to do something else right, when it comes time to hire help.

And that’s this. Have a plan and a process in place to hire, onboard, and train new employees. Or even freelance or virtual assistant help.

And, as it just so happens, I’ll be talking a lot more about that in my first RondaReady UNversity session coming up the first Thursday in July. That’s July 7th.

I call it UNversity. Because it’s not like those regular business classes in college or business schools. You know, where you invest hours and many thousands of dollars to learn how to get a job. And I’ve been there…done that. But what those classes fail to do is give you the tools to RUN a business.

So, if you’re a business owner, or you wanna know how to own a business that works for you, here’s what I recommend.

Skip “school” and go to UNversity.

It’s $15 a month, less than 50 cents a day. But if you’re not ready to invest in yourself and your business, then UNversity isn’t for you. No problem. But if you wanna move ahead and start setting up a system to help you hire, onboard, and train the right people, then…

The enrollment deadline for the first session of RondaReady UNversity is midnight (Mountain Time) on June 30. So, if you wanna get in on this deep-dive, how-to lesson, and have way more than a fifty fifty chance at hiring better people, don’t delay.

Join now, and Get Ready to Be Ready and be the primo boss of your business. Your link is below.

Stay Ready,

Vacation ideas are a breeze when you do this.

It’s that time of year again, already. And can you believe it? There are some business owners and entrepreneurs who actually take vacations. Are you kidding me? And they come up with the wildest vacation ideas. Like, lounging on beaches. Or quiet hikes in the mountains. And even amusement parks. Where do they come up with this stuff?!

But seriously, there are business owners who are RondaReady to take their yearly time off. Because they set up their vacation essentials in their System. Imagine how great they must feel right now! Or are you one of them? If so, where ya goin’?

I’m more of a beach person. Even though I’ve been living in the Rocky Mountain region for quite a while, the sand and sea never stop whispering my name. Matter of fact, a friend of mine recently moved to the Emerald Coast area on America’s southern shores. And he sent me a picture from the beach. Can’t tell you how jealous it made me. White sand. Bluegreen ocean. Beam me over Scotty.

Ok, wake up Ronda. Back to work.

By the way, your vacation ideas don’t mean you have to vacation from ideas.

In fact, that’s part of the beauty of setting up your business with a System. So you don’t have to personally BE there 24/7. AND you don’t have to take your laptop on vacation with you. Unless you wanna use it to store all those creative ideas you’ll come up with while you’re relaxed.

And, if you’re like me, you get your best ideas when you’re relaxed. Right?

So, set up your System. And make sure your presence isn’t required. And when you put in the up-front work, eventually your business will run just fine while you’re gone. Do you have that kind of system in place? Or are you still in that everything-depends-on-me mode? Because if everything in your business depends on you, then you can’t truly vacate and enjoy time off.

You can’t “get away” and relax if your head has to stay in your business. And you can’t relax when you’re too afraid you’ll miss something. Like a potential new client. Or potential new customers. Or that crucial phone call. Etc, etc, etc.

That’s why I’ve said this before. And I’ll say it again. ”

When your business is running on a system that actually works, you can be the CEO of your business. Not just another hired hand.”

I love helping business owners and entrepreneurs get set up that way.

And it’s awesome to see them fill up their calendars and run their businesses better and faster. I know, from personal experience, and from working with clients for many years.

That’s why I developed my RondaReady System. And like I always say…it’s not easy, but it’s simple. And if it was easy, everybody would do it. But they don’t. And that’s spells BIG opportunity for YOU.

Because you wanna do the work and reap the rewards. Right?

But don’t jump into the RondaReady System (or any other system) if your business isn’t making money. Because that means you’re not ready. In that case, get my free emails so we can stay in touch. And subscribers can ask me questions. AND I answer them, personally. Your link to sign up is below.

Stay Ready,
Ronda

Monday is just a way to say "Yeah, MY day!"

As I share my thoughts for today, it’s Monday morning. Ah, good ol’ Monday. And we get the name of this day from Luna’s Day, in ancient Rome. Because Luna was an ancient Roman moon goddess. Go figure. In Latin they said “dies Lunae” (pronounced deez loo nay). In French, they say Lundi. Spanish speaking people call it Lunes. And in Italian, it’s Lunedi.

And this particular Monday is the second longest day of the year.

Not because it’s another drudge-filled Monday. But because it’s literally the second longest (in terms of daylight) day of the year here in the northern hemisphere.

So, if you already hate Monday’s, then this one might be sheer torture to you. But IF you hate ’em, I gotta ask, “Why?” There are seven days in a week. Why would you hate this one?

Could it be that Monday morning rolls around and reminds you of all the work ahead of you? And could it be that you feel even more disorganized than a week ago at this time. Also, could it be that, once again, you let a week go by without systemizing your business?

If any of those reasons (or something like them) make you hate Monday’s, then I believe I can help. Because, it just so happens that’s what I do. Small business owner dreams of more money. What?!

Turn on the TV news for about a minute, and you can get depressed real fast. Right? Because there’s a lot going on out there that’s challenging small businesses and business owners more than ever. You gotta work harder to get the results you’re  So, if you’re a small business owner, you sure don’t wanna add to that.

But I know you’re a smarter small business owner than that.

In fact, I’ll bet you’re one of those people who’s always ready for a good challenge. Right?

But I’m sure you’d prefer those tough times to go by as fast as possible. Yes? Great!. So, that means it’s time to for some envision time. Time to focus (or re-focus) on your dream. And why you started your business. And all the reasons to still feel good and positive about it. Try it. You’ll like it.

Maybe you could start with your top three reasons for building your best business. And for being what I like to call RondaReady. OK, got three reasons in your head? Good. Now, create the connection between the work you’re doing now and where you see yourself in the future.

And it doesn’t matter what your top reasons for building your best business are. Because they’re YOUR reasons. Not somebody else’s. For example, maybe you think to yourself, “I want to make more money.” That’s a great reason. Because money does buy comfort doesn’t it? And lots of other things, too.

But let’s break it down a little more.

Do you actually want more money?

Or is it the stuff and the lifestyle money can buy? And maybe, to you, more money means more security. Or maybe more options in life. But let’s dig even deeper. Because those so-called “options” might boil down to a lot more potential quality time with your family. Or maybe you just wanna live life on your own terms.

Main thing is, think it over. Spend some time on it. And write it down.

Yeah, I encourage you to focus on this exercise with all your heart and mind. And I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you find your relationships in life that can help drive you foward. In the direction of your higher goals.

My RondaReady System has lots of helpful exercises like this. And lots of tools to help you be your best self. So you can build your business better and faster. Get my free emails and let’s stay in touch. Subscribers can ask me questions, and I answer them myself. Your link is below.

Crash and burn or stretch and learn

A while back I said, “Owning a business can be the easiest way to make money. Because when you serve others well, they’ll pay you for what you know or offer. But it can also be one of the easiest ways to crash and burn, if you don’t have a clear vision of what you want to do and where you want to go. So, you gotta write it down.. And be sure it’s repeatable. Even by employees. When you can smoothly repeat your processes, without starting over every time, your little hatchback becomes a muscle car.”

Believe me, I know what it feels like to crash and burn.

But I also know how it feels to go from that little hatchback to the muscle car. At first, it feels like your brain might just explode. And it feels like you gotta slam on the brakes every time you have to write stuff down. But it’s actually just the opposite.

In fact, if you don’t write it down (and set up an operations manual), you’ll just repeat the same moves over and over again. Sure, it won’t feel natural to write it all down. At first. Because you’d rather do that thing you do. Sell that thing you sell. And talk about that dream that lights your fire. Right?

But when you set up the right System, it’ll feel like a superhero stretched out his hand and lifted you out of all that crash and burn explosion. Only difference is…that superhero will be YOU.

So, you Ready to be the Wonder Woman or Iron Man of your own business? Are you Ready to be the leader, CEO, and superhero of your own business? My RondaReady System can help you suit up and soar higher and faster. Click or tap the link to get my free emails and stay in touch if this sounds good to you.

Without you the whole world falls apart. Right?

Nilsson Schmilsson. If you’re a baby boomer, that probably makes sense to you. But for everybody else, I’ll just go ahead and explain. That’s actually the title to an album from 1971 by Harry Nilsson. And one of the hits was called “Without You.” It’s a very sad-sounding breakup song. Here are the lyrics to the first verse.

“No, I can’t forget this evening
Or your face as you were leaving
But I guess that’s just the way the story goes
You always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows
Yes, it shows”

Then, there’s another verse that sounds just as sad. And then the chorus adds…

“I can’t live, if living is without you.”

And you’ve gotta hear Nilsson sing it. Because his voice adds that deep sadness that makes you lean in and keep listening.

No, I haven’t decided to take on a career as a music reviewer. I just heard that song recently. And you know how I am. I tend to relate things like that to business. So, I started thinking about you business owners. And I wondered if you believe your business “can’t live if living is without you.”

Let’s do a little three question test to see if that’s true.

  • Do you believe every part of your business requires YOU?
  • Do you think there’s no part of your business that someone else could do better?
  • And does it seem like you can never “get away” from your business?

If you answered yes to any (or all) of those questions, Nilsson might actually be singing your song.

Believe me, I can relate. And I understand how you’d rather not give up any part of your business. After all, it’s your baby. And your dream. Right? And if it’s working just the way you always dreamed, great. Keep doing what you’re doing. And if you’re making all the money you need or want, then stop reading this.

You’re already on the right track for YOU.

But if you’d like to kick things up a notch (or several notches), you might already realize how tough it is to do it alone. And, in that case, you gotta decide whether you’d like to be involved or essential.

Essential translates to hands-on. And I mean basically every business hour of every business day. For small business owners that’s usually at least six or seven days a week. If that’s your preference, go for it.

On the other hand, if you’d like a more hands-free business, then that means you’ll be involved. But not essential to every hour of every day. And that requires automation and delegation. And that’s where my RondaReady System really shines.

It includes tons of tools to automate your day-to-day tasks. And those tools include a whole video series of me right there with you every step of the way.

Procrastination is bad. Because later on never gets here.

Procrastination is bad. Because there’s never a perfect time. Maybe you’ve said things, or you’ve heard someone you know say things, like…

“I’ll get started on my own business after we get in our new house.”

“After we get married and spend time getting to know each other, we’ll figure out how to start a business.”

“I can’t think about that right now. We just had our first kid.”

“But honey, if we put out the bucks for that system right now, we won’t be able to go on our vacation.”

Any of these questions sound familiar? If so, you’ve been listening to Mister Procrastination.

So, you can see why procrastination is bad. Right?

Grab yourself any of those standard excuses. Oops, I mean reasons. Yeah, I’m sure you’re probably like most other entrepreneurs. And you have “reasons” why you have to put something off. Or reasons why you can’t invest in your business. And maybe you’ve talked yourself into believing it’s because you “choose to wait.”

But most likely your lack of forward momentum building action is a result of some sort of fear.

So, maybe you’re afraid you don’t know enough. Or you’re not good enough at what you do yet. Or maybe you think others will think you’re crazy. And they’re just waiting for you to fail so they can say they told you so.

I’m here to encourage you to stop listening to the naysayers. Even the one inside your own head. And don’t let Mister Procrastination tell you what to do. Instead of standing still, do this. And start today. Right now. Get the tools and build a system that can give you the confidence and know-how to grab your dreams and hold on tight.

I love this quote I pulled from the book, “Healology,” by Criss Jami. He said, “If you’re waiting until you feel talented enough to make it, you’ll never make it.”

But I know that’s not you because you’re here.

You want to succeed. And you want the tools to help you start right now. You’re not willing to put the life you deserve on hold even one more day. Right?

My RondaReady System has helped scores of other entrepreneurs, like you, beat Mr. Procrastination. It’s the system that can help you build your business better, have more money, more time, and more freedom. Wanna find out more about it? Then click the link below and get my free emails. And you can send questions directly to me.

AND…I’ll answer them myself.

Wise decisions you must make. There is no trying.

Jim Rohn said, “You can not make progress without making decisions.” That’s so true. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll make wise decisions. And nobody makes the best choices all the time. Because nobody’s perfect. But there ARE ways to give yourself a better track record in your decision-making process.

If you wanna make wise decisions, get yourself some wisdom.

That might sound trite and oversimplified, but it’s a fact. So, the obvious question is how do you get yourself some wisdom? Well, I think there are two main ways. One takes a lot more time than the other. Here’s what I mean.

A few years ago, I decided to take more control of my life. I knew what I had been doing wasn’t working. And I figured out I’d need to develop some systems I could use to stay focused and on track.

All I could think of, at the time, was how my life had to change. And I knew there had to be a better way. So I figured out that better way. Without realizing it, that was the start of my RondaReady System. And I used it to build my business so much better and faster. And it was one of the wisest decisions I ever made.

But that’s the long way around.

Full of obstacles and stumbling blocks. And full of starting, re-starting, and stopping, and starting. Mistakes. Corrections. More mistakes. More corrections. And days turn into months. And months can turn in to years.

The shorter way is…don’t start from scratch. And why go it alone when you don’t have to?

My RondaReady System can help you get things under control. And guess what you make when you’re in control. Yeah, wise decisions. But guess what’s even better than that. No, don’t guess. I’ll tell you. What’s even better is how your wise decisions can lead to more of them. And that almost always means more time for your dreams, more money, and more freedom.

We should talk about this some more. So, how about you click or tap that link, below, and get my free daily emails. Then, you can send me questions. And I can answer you. Just like an actual conversation. What a concept. Right?

Simplify your life unless you prefer it complicated

There’s no shortage of advice, out there, for how to simplify your life. Lists are everywhere. Like one I found this morning with 20 areas of your life you could make simpler.

And if you have 20 areas where you could simplify your life, you might need that list.

It also included “100 things to get rid of today to declutter your home.” I’m just guessing, of course, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out I have a bunch of those things. How ’bout you?

Anyway…the article mentioned how you could even simplify your meals. And when I read their suggestions, I thought about how they sounded like my batching tip from a few years back. Then, it talked about how you should declutter your home so it’s easier to manage. And I thought, “Whoa! I just did a whole class on decluttering. Are they reading my tips?”

One of the tips included in the article recommended being able to say no sometimes. And that reminded me of the story I shared about a friend who just basically couldn’t say no. It made her life so much more complicated.

And another tip in the article said “own less.” See if any of this rings a bell with you. Maybe you’ve accumulated so much stuff it’s starting to feel like it owns you. It takes so much of your time and focus. And you know you’ve got more important stuff to focus on and get done. So, you start to dread going into certain rooms. Or even going home. And that can affect you AND those you care about. So, consider a purge. I mean, c’mon. Do you really need it all?

I think maybe the most valuable tip for how to simply your life was about time. And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how precious, and limited, it is. Right? Yeah, you sure don’t wanna let it slip through your fingers like sand or water. So, it’s a good idea to really think about how you spend your time. Do you add value to as much of your day as possible? Probably not. Because you’re probably like the rest of us who have plenty of room for improvement.

So, set up a better system.

A system to help you be more productive, less “busy,” and waste less time. Focus on that “say no” tip I shared earlier. And learn to prioritize. Because there really ARE some things more important than others. You know what they are.

Here’s a quote from Vincent van Gogh that I like “The great artist is the simplifier.”

Maybe you don’t do your work with paint and canvas. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use your skills and talents to create a business work of art. A business that can provide income and opportunities for you and your loved ones.

If you’d like to learn more about how to set up a system like that, get my free daily emails. Because you’ll see I truly do wanna help you build a better, income-producing business. And I’ve been helping business owners and entrepreneurs do that for a long time. But if you’d rather go it on your own, don’t waste time…even though your competitors would like you to.
