Organization skills even if you love your messy desk

Organization skills? Check ✓

Hey Mr. Or Ms. Messy Desk business owner. Do you suffer from OSAD? Organization skills attention disorder. Well, before you get oh sad about it (Get it? OSAD…oh sad) let me tell you this. You’re not alone. Millions suffer from this disorder. But fear not. Because I have a solution, for you and your business, to take the dis out of disorder.

By the way…a messy desk isn’t necessarily a sign of organization skills attention disorder. OSAD

Plenty of people (me included sometimes) are wonderfully organized even if and when their desks are messy. But I’m not talking about the simple everything-has-a-place-and-everything-is-in-it’s-place kind of organization.

Sure, it’s great to be as uncluttered as possible. In your office. On your desk. And most importantly in your thoughts. (I just shared a video about thoughts. Watch it here.)

But the messy desk or office is just the visible evidence. The real problem might be hidden in the way you set things up in your business. And you might be trying to keep too many things in your head instead of getting them written down. Because, like I always say, until it’s written down and planned out, it’s just an idea. And ideas are just the beginning. It’s action that brings change.

I love to watch the transformation take place when I help a business owner plan out and write down their action steps. When that lightbulb flashes on. And when they get their “a-ha” moment. So cool to see their new found skills kick in as they set up their system.

I’ve seen my RondaReady business coach CRM system do that so many times. And I’m confident it can do it for you and your business, too. But it’s not magic. And it does still require your commitment to the process. Nothing worthwhile happens instantly. And your business dreams won’t either.

Good news is…it will happen.

When you set up your system. Because it’s your system that keeps you on track and able to automate and delegate. And that’s when organization skills make you the CEO you dreamed of being when you started your business.

So, maybe it’s time to get serious. And when you’re really, really ready to get ready, get RondaReady and…

Stay Ready,
Ronda

Guru voodoo

Guru Voodoo

I had a conversation, today, with someone who switches from one “guru” to the next looking for motivation. And she does find it. But once the pop and sizzle of the seminar, or conference, or video, or audio fades away, so does her motivation. I call it guru voodoo. The fog of reality sets in almost the moment she steps back into her office. The reality that her business building momentum depends on her. Not the speeches. Not the fancy media presentations. Her.

The cure for guru voodoo is like this…

“…wanting change is step one, but step two is taking it.”  ~ Isaac Marion, Warm Bodies

There’s certainly nothing wrong with gathering in knowledge, strategies, and tactics from good teachers. But if you don’t have your processes and systems in place to help you implement your new knowledge, it just feeds your head.

It’s crucial to be able to keep your forward momentum on a consistent, predictable, upward pace. If what you learn doesn’t help you do that, it’s just a motivational speech. And that can mean a lot of time and money wasted for something that doesn’t last.

The RondaReady business coach CRM system has helped scores of other entrepreneurs, like you, establish and keep their business building momentum. With systems to help you have more money, more time, and more freedom.

So, when you’re really, really ready to get ready, get RondaReady and…

Stay Ready,

Time management skills aren't part of your birth certificate

Your lack of time management skills is showing.

When you were born, the doctor (or nurse) probably handed you over to your mom and said, “Here’s your beautiful baby girl (or boy).” And I bet your parents were so glad to see you. In fact, they were probably all gaga with their brand new, cuddly cute, little bundle of joy. But I bet they didn’t look at the doctor or nurse and ask, “Don’t forget to add those time management skills to the birth certificate.” Sounds silly, right? And why?

Because time management skills aren’t part of the package when you’re born.

And they’re called “skills” because you gotta work ’em. You gotta earn ’em. And you gotta make ’em part of your everyday personal and business life. When you do all that, you’ll still need a way to track and measure your progress. And that’s where so many entrepreneurs drop the ball. Because setting that darn system up is so tedious.

You didn’t think up your brilliant business idea just to be bogged down in the muddy waters of scheduling details. And believe me, I get it. I love working ON my business. And I love helping business owners work on theirs. But I didn’t start my business to spend my days setting up spreadsheets, pivot tables, and graphs. So, I figured out how to set things up to start with so I could trust my system to help me. And I started doing that even before I owned my own business. My employer loved what it did for their business.

Once I saw how effective it was for them, I tweaked it and improved it so I could set it up for basically any business. And lots and lots of business owners have seen awesome results in their businesses using my RondaReady  business coach CRM system. They discovered how much time they saved using a system that’s already set up for them. Maybe you should consider jumping on board.

But keep in mind…it’s only for serious entrepreneurs and business owners. Because it takes commitment. If that’s you, then you might be really, really ready to get ready.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Get clients or get lost

If you’re in business, you gotta get clients

Or customers. Or an audience. Yeah, you gotta get clients to have a business. It really comes down to this. If you’re not selling anything to anybody, you don’t really have a business. Right? An interesting hobby, maybe. But not a business. Because businesses stay businesses by selling stuff. And Henry David Thoreau put it like this “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.”

So, you gotta stay busy IN your business till you get clients and sell more stuff.

And you gotta sell stuff to keep getting more clients. Sounds like a vicious circle. But it’s really an exciting spinning wheel when you Get Ready for it and keep it spinning. In fact, eventually, you can get to the point where the wheel will keep spinning without your constant hands-on-the-wheel involvement.

I’m always telling my clients how important it is to get to the point where they’re working ON their business. But before you get to that point, you’ve really gotta work IN your business. And that’s where highly organized CEO’s shine. Because they know the value of putting together a repeatable, measurable system they can depend on day in and day out.

Before you start spending time, effort, and money on getting clients, it’s crucial to Get Ready and Be Ready for them. Do you have a system for contacts? You know, a proven method for calling, emailing, and even mailing them. And a system for collecting and storing their information? Do you know what information to collect? And how you’ll use that data?

There’s a lot more valuable information you should consider when it comes to setting things up.

Good news. I’ve already developed a system (used successfully by scores of business owners) to help take a lot of the pain and worry of setting up your contacts. And it can help you lay out your time in blocks. Because schedule control and planning is key. My RondaReady business coach CRM system includes sections for…

  • Initial consultation
  • The in-process workflow
  • Contacts database
  • Nurturing database
  • What to do the first 90 days
  • How to reconnect, and
  • Getting, using, and repeating referrals

Yeah, you can get yourself a mighty comprehensive system here.

This has been my life’s work for the past 17 years. So, I know a thing or two hundred about this whole business system stuff. In fact, an old boss of mine made up the title “Performance Advocate” for me because I got so good at it.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. So, you can be a tip-top performance advocate for your own business. Because it can help you…

Thoughts feelings action

Do you have thoughts, feelings,
and action in the right order?

Today, let’s talk about thoughts, feelings, and action. Because it’s amazing what can happen when you get these in the right order. I call it the the trilogy of “thoughts into action.”

Thoughts before feelings before action

There you go. That’s it in a nutshell. My work, here, is done. (just kidding)

I talk to my kids about this all the time. And I have open conversations with my friends and clients about it. How feelings can often dictate things in daily life. But feelings aren’t the beginning of the trilogy. It’s…

  • Thought
  • Feelings, aanndd…
  • Action

Your thought life is so important to dictating what you’ll actually do. Throughout the day. And throughout your life. Get your thoughts Ready, (part of what I call the Get Ready phase). And work on making them clear and focused on positive things. It’s human nature to be negative. Part of this world we live in. It’s so easy to quickly grab onto the negative and try to wrestle it to the ground.

But the sooner you turn your thoughts around to the positive, the sooner your feelings will follow right along. And wouldn’t you rather feel good everyday? I sure would. And when feelings are good, actions can follow in that same pattern.

So, today, take some time to recognize when you’re not feeling so great. And then pay attention to what you’re thinking. What kind of questions are you asking yourself? Maybe that’s a good place to start a new and different story. Get some better questions. And then you can get some better answers.

Thoughts before feelings before actions.

So, work on your thoughts today.

And my RondaReady business management system can help you set up your action plan and so much more. Better and faster..

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And let’s make sure you can…

Mobile ready – it’s in there

If you’re an entrepreneur with a vision to be a successful CEO of your own business, your favorite band should be Mobile Ready Eddie and the Moneymakers. OK, there’s really no such band (at least I don’t think so). But maybe YOU can start your own “band.”

Is your current system and online presence mobile ready?

If your business style is “creative” or you prefer not to have to type out everything (especially on a mobile device), you’ll probably love some of the features of my business coach CRM system. Because one of those features is voice-to-text recognition. And that’s just a fancy schmancy way of saying you can take notes, in the system, just by saying them directly into the CRM.

I know more and more people are getting more and more work done, efficiently, from their trusty phones. I’m sure I’d feel like something important was missing if I had to go a day without mine. And isn’t it just awesome we have access to such amazing technology? Especially with all the “social distancing” that’s going on in the world right now. So, that’s a key reason I made sure the RondaReady CRM system has a simple way to take notes for reminders, etc.

It’s so convenient to be able to talk text in between appointments, for example. While something is fresh in your mind. And without having to pull over, grab your phone, and type on that tiny keyboard. Instead, you tap on a button, start talking, tap the button again, and your note is ready and waiting for you when you get back to your computer.

Your website should work like that for you (and your customers and clients) too.

But I’ll save that for another time. Till then I just wanna encourage you to get yourself a mobile ready system. Your mind, emotions, and even your thumbs will thank you. My system is only for serious entrepreneurs who truly wanna invest their businesses. And I mean in a way where you buy it, but you don’t pay for it. There are free systems out there for everybody else. And they will require you to learn them all on your own. But if that’s the way you like to work, go for it.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

My kingdom for a to do list and a calendar

Ah, the humble to do list and calendar

Today I had a meeting with Brent (not his real name), a business banker, to discuss our mutual client, Heather (not her real name), a small business owner. I gotta tell ya, I truly enjoy being in the company of professionals who help small business owners thrive and grow. And it did my heart good to see Brent get out his to do list and calendar we had set up for him months ago.

When you work from your to do list, it can work wonders for your work

That’s a lot of talk about work. But the work gets so much easier when you plan it out. Brent said he appreciated how I reminded him about his best days being the ones when he follows his to-do list and a plan. He said those days when he doesn’t follow his plan are when he gets much less accomplished and feels less confident.

Can you see the big difference? Following a list with a plan is how you control your business and your life. And not letting them control you. Brent said he much prefers how his days are now versus “working without a net.” And he gave me some other nice compliments, too.

Thanks “Brent”. Always here to help 🙂

Seriously, though, it’s true. There’s nothing better than creating a schedule with tasks focused on achieving the results you want. And it’s much easier than you might imagine.

My RondaReady business coach CRM system has helped scores of other entrepreneurs, like you, get control of their days with a calendar and a to-do list. In fact, those are essential parts of the built-in CRM. But if you’d rather make it harder on yourself, pay no attention to my system. Or anybody else’s for that matter. If you’re a shoot-from-the-hip kind of entrepreneur, this is probably too organized for you.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Accountability partner

It’s time for a little accountability, partner

Howdy partner! How ya doin’? Whatcha been up to? And how’s things down on the ranch? Still bustin’ sales records? And ropin’ lots of profits? Hope I’m not buggin’ you with all these questions. I’m just tryin’ to be a good accountability partner.

That’s what a client called me recently…her accountability partner.

She said, when she’s working with me she feels more motivated. And she’s noticed herself rising to a higher performance level. I know that feeling, too. Working with a mentor or a coach can take you to good places you maybe weren’t going before.

I’ve had (and still have) my own coaches. Yes, a business coach needs coaches. And when you get right down to it, everybody does. But not everybody realizes it. Not everybody understands how important it is to keep learning. To keep developing. Keep growing.

And a coach doesn’t bring a bias to your business like a relative or somebody in your personal life. A coach, who understands business, can give you the objective perspective you need. And as good as you are at what you do, you might still suffer from the rose-colored glasses syndrome. In other words, you believe your products, services, and information should stand on their own.

But, like I say all the time, you gotta know your numbers.

That’s where my RondaReady business coach CRM system really shines. It’s a complete system to help you Get Ready, Be Ready, and Stay Ready. And you won’t just know your numbers. You’ll build a customized system to help you keep track of every important part of your business. Then, you’ll be the highly organized CEO of your own business. Just like you imagined when you first started.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Break even, and I'm not talking about a 60's surfing movie

The big break even

Raise your hand if you know what your break even is. Hmm, I see a few hands raised. And a few more of you are not quite sure. So your hand is sort of halfway up. Right? Maybe you’re not even sure what I’m talking about. And maybe you haven’t ever done this before.

The break even point is something every new business owner needs to calculate.

Preferably before you start your business. But it’s easy to overlook it when you start out. Because you wanna get right to work. And that’s totally understandable. After all, you started your business so you could take pictures, or build cabinets, or sell lots of stuff online. But you sure didn’t come up with your great business idea just so you could calculate boring numbers. Right?

I get it. Because I’m like you. I’d rather do the work I love than have to do the calculating stuff like projections and pivot tables. But it’s important to know if your business is making (or is gonna make) enough money to support you. And when you know your numbers, you’ll be able to adjust as necessary. Maybe you’ll need to raise or lower your prices. And maybe you’ll need to hire some help.

It’s what I call break even analysis time.

Time to figure out and know your sales revenue, your fixed and variable costs. And what your contribution margin is. Because the contribution margin directly influences your net profit. And you want that net profit as high as possible. Am I right?

Calculate all those numbers, and you can find your break even point. It looks like this sales/dollars = fixed cost /contribution margin.

And then you can start playing. Price adjustments. Possibly lower expenses. Fixed and/or variable.

All of this is part of what I call the Be Ready stage. Where you develop strategies for steady income. Remember, you’re a CEO. It’s part of your job description to know this stuff.

So, where is your break even? Does it seem too overwhelming to keep track of your numbers and performance measurement? And how about making projections, analyzing, and tweaking when necessary? When you’re Ready to hand this kind of work off to an experienced business coach CRM system, I’m here for you.

But my system isn’t for everybody. Just the ones who are ready to invest in themselves and their business. The ones who understand the value of being a highly organized CEO instead of staying on the self-employed hamster wheel. And the ones who understand that RIGHT NOW there’s a huge opportunity for people who aren’t letting fear rule their decisions.

Right now being proactive instead of reactive can put you way ahead of your competition.

A great way to do that is to get your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. Because so much of your so-called “competition” isn’t doing this kind of work to…

Back to the basics: Get Ready, Be Ready, Stay Ready

Back to the basics

A few years ago, I mentored some clients who were dealing with enormous pressures in their business. And in their personal lives. They told me how totally overwhelmed they felt. And they just couldn’t see which way to go or how to proceed. They kept getting slammed with unexpected circumstances. And they felt helpless to handle it all. So, they contacted me for some guidance. And the first thing I said was, “Let’s get back to the basics before anything else.”

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, getting back to the basics is the only logical move.

When John and Jane (not their real names) and I met, I listened to their story. And I watched the looks on their faces. Then, I said, “Ok, when we look at this objectively, it’s clear that momentum isn’t going your way. And I shared a sports analogy. When pro teams feel the momentum shifting away from them, they often take a time out. So, I said, “Start with a time out. Take a breath. Get a good drink of water. And now…let’s make a plan.”

Because once you have a game plan it’s so much easier to get momentum going your way again. Otherwise, you’ll be like an athlete running up and down the field or court with no idea which end is which.

And running like that is just wasted energy. That’s true in your business, too. Maybe you’ve been guilty of “busy work.” You know, that work you do that doesn’t propel your business forward. But at least it makes you feel like you’re doing something. Right? But that kind of work isn’t why you started your business. And surely, it isn’t how you envisioned yourself.

That’s why when you find yourself overwhelmed, it’s time for the basics again.

So you can Get Ready. And refocus your mind on where you want to be. Then, you’ll Be Ready to put your actionable steps in place. After that, it’s so much smoother to Stay Ready with the systems you put in place to keep you there.

My RondaReady business coach CRM system can help you do that so much faster and better. It helped John and Jane overcome the overwhelm. But don’t wait till you’re overwhelmed to get started.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…
