How do you see yourself without a mirror?

How do you see yourself? And I don’t just mean your physical appearance. Of course, that’s important. But it’s certainly not the total YOU. Not by a long shot. Right?

I read an article about 13 habits of the “mentally tough.” And the writer shared what it takes to overcome the challenges and obstacles in your life. And everyone has ’em. Regardless of whether you’re a business owner, baker, or candlestick maker (Do those even still exist?). You have to find it within you to push through.

So, again, how do you see yourself?

Do you wanna curl up in a corner when a relationship needs nurturing? Would you rather pad your comfort zone with more pillows than get out of it? And do you cringe at the thought of building or scaling a business? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, it sounds like you need a YOU makeover.

Because if the distractions of life are more important than your vision for your life, then I propose that somewhere inside you see yourself as a loser. Or at the very least, not a winner.

You’ve probably read quotes or articles about Thomas Edison’s tenacity when it came to his work on the electric light bulb. Apparently he once said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

That’s mental toughness. And it’s an indicator that Mr. Edison didn’t see himself as “not a winner.”

OK, I’m not gonna share all 13 of those habits of mentally tough people. But I WILL share three. So, see if any or all three describe you. Do you…

  1. Love a good challenge
  2. Commit to your goals
  3. Focus on what you can control

If you come up against a challenge and find yourself always reaching for the chocolate ice cream, then self-employment, entrepreneurship, and owning a business probably aren’t for you. Because mentally tough people see challenges as muscle builders. Physical AND mental muscles.
Also, if you can’t commit to your goals, then maybe they’re not important or real enough to you. Because important and real goals put the spring in your step, the smile on your face, and the spunk in your attitude. And when they’re real and important enough to you, distractions won’t derail you.<

And finally, what can YOU do about what’s going on?

Because that’s ultimately the only part of your actions steps you can control. The ones YOU do. And that focus starts with your Vision.

So, that’s why the very first lessons in RondaReady YOUniversity are designed to help you discover your Vision. And they can help you focus your energy in the direction you’d actually like to go. With strategies to help you know how to get there. That way you can confidently answer the how do you see yourself question.

How about we talk about it some more? Book a free call with me, with that handy calendar below. And give me a chance to see where you wanna go in life. I’d love to help YOU if I can. Let’s talk soon.

Back to work? Back to school? Or back to business?

OK, Father’s Day is over. Back to work. How’s that for some Monday Motivation? Seriously, I hope you had a great weekend regardless of whether you celebrated the dads day thing or not.

Speaking of back to work, I read an interesting article on that. Sort of.

It was actually a story of a young woman, a wife and mother, who has a job. So, she doesn’t need to go “back to work.” But she’s thinking she might go back to college so she can do some other sort of work life. She said this…

“When the job I had in college working under an accountant fizzled out, I was panicking to find a way to pay off my car. I landed a part-time teller job at a local bank at 20, and I’ve been there ever since. Now I work full time in the bank’s research department. I’m married with one child. And we’re renting a place. But my husband and I both feel we should go back to school to finish our degrees.

Job security is a big reason why I stayed at my current job. In the almost 10 years I’ve worked here I’ve never worried about layoffs, but I’m weighing other options now.

My husband works full time and goes to university.

And we pay all cash for his schooling. When he’s finished, the plan is for me to return to school for a degree in social work. I’m only going back because I feel like I have to go to school if I want to get the job I want and be paid a decent wage.

I don’t think you have to go to school to make a livable wage. Because my husband did a computer-programming boot camp that’s helped him make pretty good money without a degree. However, I’ve struggled in my job search. In the worlds of social work and psychology, you have to have a degree just to get your foot in the door.

I’m a millennial turning 30 this year. So, I feel a sense of pressure to have certain milestones accomplished. A lot of my peers have thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans. So I do feel we’re a little bit ahead not having student-loan debt. But we don’t own a house, we still have some debt, and I wish we had larger savings.

I feel like we’re behind, but not too bad.

In five years I’ll definitely be in the career that I want and out of debt. And we’ll own a house. I believe that 100%.

My advice to someone entering their 20s would be to stay out of debt, don’t get credit cards, and don’t get a new car. And work while you have no children and lots of energy. If you’re attempting to enroll in university, apply for scholarships and grants whether you think you’ll get them or not.”

OK, Ronda here again.

That young woman has a pretty good head on her shoulders. But I DO think she should consider more options. College/university isn’t the only way to improve your work life and income. Not by a long shot. Especially if you have a clear vision of who you are and where you wanna go. She said she 100% believes she’ll be in the career she wants in five years. And that she and her husband will be out of debt and own a house.

Of course, I think her vision could use some tweaking.

But it’s a good start. And I always say start with Vision.

So, that’s why the very first lessons in RondaReady YOUniversity are designed to help you discover your Vision. And they can help you focus your energy in the direction you’d actually like to go. With strategies to help you know how to get there. AND maybe even head that direction way before your 30th birthday.

How about we talk about it some more? Book a free call with me, with that handy calendar below. And give me a chance to see where you wanna go in life. I’d love to help YOU if I can.

Now, back to work with you. But don’t put this off. Let’s talk soon.

Feel enough. Even before you feel like it.

Her website says they believe in “two universal truths,” and it says those truths are “hydration and barrier support.” Maybe that already sounds familiar to you if you already know about Cocokind. And maybe you’ve already heard how its founder and CEO, Priscilla Tsai, wants you to “feel enough.” But what does that mean? Well, here’s how she explains it on her “About” page.

“I know what it’s like to not feel enough.

When I was struggling with my skin, I never left the house without a full face of makeup. I used to have to put on lotion in the dark as my skin would sting and my eyes would water every morning. I started Cocokind to change the status quo of the beauty industry and break the cycle of ‘aspirational beauty.’

We are a company that doesn’t need to hide how we formulate, invests in highly effective but gentle formulas, and sets fair prices based on what’s inside the bottle. Most importantly, Cocokind exists to ensure that all of us have a safe place in the beauty industry where we’re celebrated and accepted, exactly as we already are.”

Looks like Ms Tsai developed a crystal clear vision for herself and her beauty care business. And, if you’ve been around my website and emails for any length of time, you know how important I think your vision is.

I read a little background on Priscilla, and it sounds like she sacrificed quite a bit to pursue that vision. And you’ll see what I mean in this little press blurb:

“Born out of a frustration with the lack of transparency in the beauty industry and a battle with skin problems of her own, Priscilla Tsai quit her high-paying job to start her own line of clean skincare products with little experience. This paid off. Because Cocokind is now sold in…all Whole Foods Market locations with no end to their growth in sight.”

All because she wanted to help you “feel enough.”

So, she started with a vision to help people with skin problems. And she could relate because she had to deal with those same problems. But she didn’t just feel like helping. She followed through. And she didn’t dip her toes in the water of entrepreneurship. She dived in completely. And that commitment has paid off. Big time.

Someone with a clear vision AND commitment is a force to be reckoned with.

So, that’s why the very first lessons in RondaReady YOUniversity are designed to help you discover your Vision. And they can help you focus your energy in the direction you’d actually like to go. With strategies to help you know how to get there. Because I want you to feel enough, too.

How about we talk about it some more? Book a free call with me, with that handy calendar below. And give me a chance to see where you wanna go in life. I’d love to help YOU if I can. Let’s talk soon.

Train ride for the potential wizard in YOU

Most people in America don’t ride a train to work. Or even take a train ride for any reason. So, it might seem a little strange that I’m gonna ask you to imagine you’re waiting for a train that’s taking you to work.

But your train ride is delayed and you’ve got time on your hands.

Now what do you do? With a smartphone and some wi-fi you’ve got options. But what would you do?

Well, for a young woman, in England, that’s exactly what happened. She was on a train ride into King’s Cross Station in London. But her train was delayed. Thankfully she had her best tool with her. No, not a smartphone. It was her imagination.

And as her imagination kicked in, she started to formulate an idea about a young wizard. Fortunately, she had some scraps of paper. And she wrote down some notes. Over time, those notes developed into a story. And she continued to work on that story as she raised her daughter, alone, on welfare benefits.

As the story of her life goes, she finished her manuscript five years later. She called it “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” And BOOM, she was famous.

Uh…not so fast.

Actually 12 publishers rejected her manuscript. But she finally connected with Bloomsbury Publishing. THEN her book found its way into the hands of millions. And THEN J.K. Rowling became famous. And wealthy, of course.

You probably already know that Ms Rowling continued to write Harry Potter’s story. And the series of books have sold over half a billion copies. She even became the world’s first billionaire author. No small thing. But she quickly gave up the billionaire title by donating a huge part of her fortune to charities.

And her Harry Potter series is said to have shaped an entire generation of kids. But I’d bet she’d probably say she doesn’t want that responsibility and that she just hopes they enjoy the journey of reading a book.

OK, are you still waiting for your train ride?

And do you know what you’re gonna do while you’re waiting? How about not just waiting? How about you write down your thoughts, like J.K. Rowling did? And how about you start to formulate the story of YOUR life.

You don’t need any magic powers. Just some get up and go. And a good idea of which way to go and what to do along the way and when you get there.

And I could probably help you do that a lot better and faster. But I’d like you to call me so we can talk about it. That way, you can tell me your dreams, goals, and ideas. And we can take it from there. Click or tap on that handy calendar below and book a free call with me. Yes, it’ll be me you’ll talk with. I don’t outsource that.

But remember. Time doesn’t stand still. So, you shouldn’t either. Book the call as soon as possible. The sooner we talk, the sooner you could feel like the wizard of your own life.

Hallmark moments don't always include cupcakes.

Life is just a long thread of Hallmark moments. Am I right?

But maybe you’re not familiar with Hallmark moments.

In that case, you might get a kick out of this synopsis I clipped out of a guy’s description of how “all Hallmark movie plots are basically the same.” Here’s how he described them…

“Guy or gal who left home several years ago and is very successful at some high falutin’ job in a big city somewhere comes back to their Smalltown, USA hometown for Thanksgiving or a funeral. Oh no! Their family’s business is failing! What?! They need to stay longer than they planned. Maybe until Christmas! I can’t believe it. What are the chances of that?!!?

Successful and attractive returning guy or gal runs into the sister or brother of a friend they knew in high school. He or she “was just a kid back then” but now they’re “all grown up” and they’ve really blossomed into a hunk or a hottie. At first they may not like each other but everyone else can see the obvious chemistry. Despite the fact that they annoy each other, they have to work together to save the business, ranch, or whatever.

Of course it will all inevitably lead to a playful snowball fight between the two in the town square. And they both realize they like each other and they kiss.”

Ah, heavy sigh.

Who doesn’t love Hallmark moments and movies? OK, serve up the winky face emoji.

Yes, obviously I’m poking fun at the predictable plot lines found in those Hallmark movies. Because, well, they’re  such easy targets. And they don’t tend to resemble anything in real life. Right? Just feel-good stuff. Nothing wrong with that. But life is SO much more than Hallmark moments and cupcakes.

And that doesn’t mean your life will never have any of those wonderful, almost fairy tale, success stories.

In fact, I had a client who’s a good example of that kind of success story. Bob (not his real name) started out as a one-man business operation. Whatever needed to be done, Bob did it. And in only seven years, he grew his business enough to hire 10 employees. That’s the good news.

But the bad news, if you wanna call it that, was that meant he not only had to run a business, but he also had to manage 10 employees. And just in case you don’t know, that’s not as easy as it sounds.

What he did to grow his business that much wouldn’t help him run it AND manage 10 employees.

He’d have to do something different.

But what did he do? Move back to his hometown, meet up with his old girlfriend, open a hardware store, kiss the girl, and live happily ever after?

No. For the answer to what he did, and how I helped him do it, and how I can probably help you, too, you’ll have  to book a free call with me. Especially if what you’ve been doing has felt like anything but Hallmark moments.

I can’t guarantee you’ll win the love of your heart’s desire. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you took your business, and your life, to a whole ‘nother level. Because I’ve seen my clients and customers do that over and over. So, use that handy calendar link, below, and book a call with me as soon as possible. Your future starts now.

Break it to you here because it didn't happen there

It doesn’t make me happy to break it to you. But you didn’t learn essential real world skills in school. Not high school. And not even in college.

Because real world skills go way beyond knowing how to take a selfie and publishing it on Instagram. Or a video and posting it on Tik Tok. In spite of what young females would have you believe who are building audiences on those platforms. It’s important to realize their audiences are interested in other things.

I’m not knockin’ digital photography or videography. In fact, I think you can use those skills to build up a nice client list these days. But owning a business means you need to know how to RUN that business. So it doesn’t run you to death.

Yep, a teenager, just starting out in the (free) world, has a lot of options. College. Business school. Trade school. Art school. Etc, etc, etc.

But I gotta break it to you again.

Those schools teach you ABOUT subjects. Not HOW to apply what you learn to real life.

So, picture this. It’s the first day after high school graduation. And you’ve already got a clear vision of who you are and where you wanna go. Most high school grads don’t have even that.

Now, picture this. You also have a System to help you prepare to own and RUN a business (if that’s your dream). Or you’re ready to get the best job at a cutting edge business, if that’s what you prefer.

Sad to say, most high school and college grads don’t know the first place to start to get that clear vision.

So, just think what an advantage it would be if you could start out in the real world with a System to help you control your schedule. And a plan, so you could be the best YOU. Wouldn’t that be so much better than tossing the dice on something like a six-figure college education with more questions than answers?

RondaReady YOUniversity is where people just starting out in the real world should go to learn how to System Think. Because System Thinking is the way YOU can transform YOUR gifts and talents into real world skills.

And those SKILLS can translate into lifelong success.

Ambitious people all over the America are adopting the same RondaReady life hacks my 7 figure clients use to run highly productive lives.

If you’re just about to go out into the real world, or you’re the parent of someone like that, you should check out YOUniversity. It’s probably less than the tuition for one year (maybe even one semester) of college. And the return on investment could be a lifetime of dramatically increased earning potential.

How about we talk about it some more? Book a free call with me, with that handy calendar below. And give me a chance to see where you wanna go in life. I’d love to help YOU if I can. And I gotta break it to you one more time. If you don’t get in touch, we’ll never know.

Let’s talk soon.

Sharks diet should not include YOU

Imagine you’re a young medical student (and surfer) whose mother recently died of cancer (Sorry to sound so morbid. But bear with me). And you decide to take a trip to a secluded beach where your mother went when she was pregnant with you. Sounds like an interesting way to sort of make a mother-daughter connection. Right? And then you discover that sharks diet on surfers, too. What an amazing vacation.

Wait. What?! Did that say “sharks diet on surfers?”

Yeah, that was the plot of a movie, “The Shallows,” that starred Blake Lively, from back in 2016. And her character’s ordeal was just as awful as it sounds. She did some things I’d never dream of doing. And her choices didn’t go well for her.

First, she caught a ride to the secluded beach. And she had the guy drop her off, by herself, because her friend decided to stay at their hotel. And she joined a couple of strangers in the water to surf for a few hours. Then the two guys (yes, the two strangers were guys) decided to take off. But Blake’s character decided to “catch one last wave.”

She paddled out to where the swells start. And she noticed a smelly carcass of a young whale floating. Sure, it was gross, but she waited for the right wave anyway. As she waited she “felt” something was odd. But she waited, and then the wave came. So, she jumped up on her board and started enjoying a nice ride to shore.

But before she could make it to shore, a huge shark knocked her off the board and bit her leg while she was underwater. Somehow she got away and made it to the smell whale carcass and climbed up on it. But, of course, the huge shark managed to ram the whale and knock her off. So, she swam frantically to some nearby rocks that poked up out of the water.

She spent the night on the rock after using her jewelry and med school skills to stitch up her wound. And the next day the horror with the shark continued.

But I won’t give away the rest, in case you haven’t seen it and think you might want to see it. If you do, be sure you’re not squeamish about humans becoming part of the food chain.

That movie reminded me of a client of mine who felt as though her life was like a shark attack. And that was because her schedule was out of control. So, I asked her to show me her schedule of a typical day. And how she worked on it. Turns out, she just needed better control of her activities. So, I showed her how to “batch.”

There’s nothing like serving up a daily batch.

Batching your schedule works so well and helps you be more productive. Because you don’t have to shift gears so much. To stretch out a surfing analogy, it’s kinda like this. You wouldn’t go to the beach to catch one wave and then leave and then come back the next day to catch one wave. Right?

That would be a terrible use of your energy, skills, and time.

But, sadly, too many business owners and entrepreneurs work like that. And they become a part of the shark’s diet. The shark, in this case, is wasted time and all the lost productivity.

I’ve helped a lot of people completely turn that around. And if you feel the shark’s teeth nipping at your toes, you should give me call. Let’s talk about getting you out of that dangerous water and off the sharks diet.

Use that life preserver, I mean handy calendar below to schedule a free consultation call. And give me a chance to see what’s going on in your life. I’d love to help YOU if I can. Let’s talk soon.

Settle for less and see how that works out for you.

It’s a trait of the ultra successful. And I’ve noticed something about people who don’t have it or work on it. They usually settle for less. In their jobs, their income, and their lives. Plus they give up on going for a life that aligns with their gifts and talents.

But, before I reveal the trait, found only in the most successful people, here’s why I bring it up.

A while back, I had something happen to me that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

And it quickly motivated me to take what I teach my 6 and 7-figure clients and prepare it for a students, young people (or even not so young) who are about to head out into the real world. Here’s what happened.

My son had two friends, in two years, who both committed suicide.

When I got the tragic news, I was horrified.

Then I started to think how that could have easily been my son, too. And I asked him to talk to me. During that talk he expressed anxiety. A lack of purpose. And a continual feeling of overwhelm. The heavy-hearted emotions seemed to pour out of my son as he shared what he was going through, too.

That’s when it hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks. My kids needed to know how to find their purpose.

And I wouldn’t want them to settle for less.

But they didn’t have the one trait, the one skill, they need to prepare for success in the future. And the skill that would help them when tragedy or every day struggles feel overwhelming. What’s the trait?

System Thinking.

It’s how you learn to gather up the puzzle pieces in your mind, fit them together, and solve problems.

System thinking helps you discover how to make what I call precision decisions.

Those decisions that line up with what can help you be happy and successful.

And that’s why, for the past 20 years, I’ve been teaching entrepreneurs, corporate employees, and business owners how to system think. Because it was NEVER available from typical sources like college or trade schools.

So, no one ever taught it to them before.

By far, the most overwhelming feedback I’ve gotten from clients is how much easier life would have been if they’d only learned this trait earlier.

Before now, this information was only available to my highest level clients who pay me tens of thousands of dollars per year to learn it. But, after hearing that sad news from my son, I decided to get this into as many hands as possible.

So, I’ve made this incredibly valuable training available to YOU, or someone you care about, when you enroll in RondaReady YOUniversity.

I don’t want you to settle for less than your gifts and talents can give you. To find out more about it and speak to me, personally, book a free call with the handy calendar below. Let’s see if we can get you going where you wanna go. Better and faster. And let’s talk SOON.

Travel programs for that brand new gap in your life

Some high school students are more fortunate than they probably even realize. Because they’ve been able to graduate high school and actually take up to a year “off” before going to college or starting a career. There are lots of websites focused on what they call the “gap year.” And many of them offer travel programs where students can figure out their lives. At least, that’s the hope. Especially for the parents who pay for those trips.

If you’re a student or parent looking into gap year travel programs, consider this.

First, you’ve got lots of choices. So, don’t jump into the first offer or online “special” you find. And even more important than that is this. Be sure you know what you hope for and want to gain from travel programs and what they offer. And, on top of that, be sure you know why one option might be better than another.

Here’s why. And also some of what you can expect to find in the gap year travel programs.

  • You could beef up on leadership skills
  • There’s opportunity for new connections with new friends
  • Foreign countries mean learning new languages
  • New languages can open up new cultural experiences
  • Living somewhere, instead of reading about it, means hands-on experience

I’ve seen some of the info on a few travel programs websites. And they tend to promise, or at least suggest that your year off from institutional studies can nurture qualities you’ll need for life after high school.

I agree that it’s important to develop leadership skills, new connections, and learn new things. And I believe that should be a lifelong habit. But I also know that leadership skills, new connections, and learning stuff doesn’t provide you what you need to RUN a successful business. Or get the best paying job possible.

And I know, from experience, that many high school students are anxious and depressed when they graduate. Because that little voice won’t leave ’em alone. The one that says, “What am I supposed to do now?!”

That’s a difficult question, at best, to answer without a Vision of who you are.

Or if your vision for yourself doesn’t fit into the so-called “normal path” of college.

So, if you believe college or a dull job are your only options, it can be depressing, to say the least.

It’s crucial for parents and teens to communicate, openly, about options and decisions for life after high school. And it’s so important to be flexible, as a parent, about those options and decisions. Because, these days, young people have options that didn’t exist before.

College is absolutely not required for most jobs and careers anymore. And that’s great. Because, in case you haven’t noticed, college is WAY expensive. And too many young people go for degrees that won’t even pay for themselves in the real world.

So, if you (or your kids) are looking for alternatives to college, like gap year travel programs, here’s another option.

Consider RondaReady YOUniversity.

It’s a course designed to help new graduates (or even not so young) focus on and achieve dreams and goals. YOUniversity can give you the tools and the strength and wisdom to use your skills and talents, and your new connections, and RUN a business. Or get that mighty cool job with the awesome paycheck.

Another day another dollar. IN? Or OUT?

You’ve heard it. And maybe you’ve even said it. “Another day, another dollar.” Yeah, it’s something a lot of people say when their work days become boring, mundane, and repetitious. But at least that expression represents money in.

What about when it’s another day, another dollar OUT?

Because that’s a reality way too many people deal with every day. And a lot of the time it’s because of a choice, or choices, they made when they first started out in the real world.

There’s a quote, evidently from Henry Ford, where he said, “Before everything else, getting ready is the secret to success.” So, Mr. Ford understood the key principle to the “another day, another dollar” saying.

Get Ready!

Because your success (or failure) depends on whether you’re ready or not.

That’s why I call my business, RondaReady. Because I wanna BE ready. And STAY ready. And I don’t wanna have to start from scratch every time I start something new. So, I clarified my Vision and got Ready for success. And I created a System I could fall back on when needed. And I know it’s gonna be there for me.

But, my vision didn’t just happen one day as basked in the sun on a blanket in a flowery meadow. And it didn’t fall on my head out of blue skies and fluffy clouds. No, I put serious time and effort into it.

Maybe you never want to be a billionaire or own a multi billion dollar corporation. And maybe you just wanna build a business around your passion. With enough success to meet all your needs and some of your wants and desires. And those are awesome goals. But guess what?

Another day, another dollar will go by whether you’re ready or not.

So, that’s why I always tell clients: “Set up your System to Get Ready, Be Ready, and Stay Ready.” Because you gotta take steps to make sure each day is a dollar IN and not just another dollar OUT.

And it’s why the first stage I take my clients through is what I call “Envision Your Future.”

When you go through the “Envision Your Future” stage, you take eight, fairly simple, important steps. And you can reduce the time it takes when you follow my blueprint for success.

You’re gonna invest your time and energy into something, too. But it’s crucial to invest it into something that won’t end up costing you.

So, that’s why the very first lessons in RondaReady YOUniversity are designed to help you discover your Vision. And they can help you focus your energy in the direction you’d actually like to go. With strategies to help you know how to get there in a way that will pay you back instead of costing you.

How about we talk about it some more? Book a free call with me, with that handy calendar below. And give me a chance to see where you wanna go in life. I’d love to help YOU if I can. Let’s talk soon.
