Stay at home or don't. Either way, get a system.

Last week I wrote you about a client of mine who used the phrase, “linear lines.” And I mentioned how much I enjoy the visual I get in my mind when I hear that. And, as it just so happens, Penny (who’s not only a client but also an email subscriber…Hi again Penny), read that email and wrote back to me. She said the RondaReady System can be applied to stay at home parents, and…well, I’ll just let you see what she said…

“Good morning!!! I read the email from RondaReady about “Linear Lines”, wonderful correlation between the no clutter topic and what you do. (Btw, thanks for the shout out!) I absolutely love what you do for not only businesses but really anyone. Your system can be applied to the stay at home parent or the corporate business person, we all need organizations. Thank you for all you do and for all you do for me!”

Of course, that stay at home part really stands out right now.

Because, during the past year, a lot of employed people (and, unfortunately, even a lot of business owners) have been trying to figure out how to work from home.

And, on the surface, that can sound so appealing. Because, wouldn’t it be nice not to have to go clock in somewhere and not wear a mask all day? Yeah, wouldn’t it be nice to look and feel normal again?

But here’s the thing…

Once you decide to work for yourself, if you truly wanna do it right, you soon discover a ton of details you’re gonna have to manage. And they all mostly boil down to: Getting clients – Getting Organized – and Time Management (which I call Schedule Control).

And where most excited new entrepreneurs drop the ball is in the overwhelm. I’ve seen it happen. Personally. And in the lives of clients over the years.

That’s why I worked long and hard to build the RondaReady System.

Because, years ago, I also wanted to leave the corporate world and stay at home with my kids. But I knew I needed a system to keep me on track. Especially with all the distractions life can throw you when you’re working a business and tending to little kids.

And the System I developed helped a major corporation’s gross annual profits increase from $310,000 to $1.7M in 4 years. Then, they opened second and third divisions. And in 3 years those divisions earned over $4M. Lots of other business clients of mine have seen percentage increases like that, too.

Because the System works.

But maybe you’re not quite ready to dive into the whole system. Well, you’re in luck. Because now I have my monthly RondaReady classes available at a price even a minimum wage earner can afford. And here’s how easy it is to get in.

Simply enroll in my monthly RondaReady  before the last day of the month, to be eligible for the next class. That’s February 28, if you wanna be in time for the class in March. You could still enroll after that, but you’d have to wait for the next class in April.

For hands-on how-to coaching on how to build your business better and faster with a proven system, monthly tuition is only $15. Remember, tardiness won’t be tolerated. You can cancel anytime. But dropouts will drop out forever.

So, whether you wanna stay at home and run your own business, or you wanna launch a traditional brick and mortar business, join today, and Get Ready to Be Ready. And be the highly organized CEO of your own business so you can…

Stay Ready,

Debt is expensive - so get out of it before you invest in a business system

I’ve been sharing a lot of information about how investing in yourself is so valuable. And I’ve mentioned how an investment in you and your business shouldn’t cost you anything. Because it should help you increase sales and profits. And then it pays for itself. But there’s something else business owners should avoid when it comes to those investments. Debt. Because debt is expensive.

And don’t let the lure of marketing promises pull you into deeper debt.

And that includes my RondaReady System. It’s not cheap. And if you’re just starting out, it might be too expensive for you and your business.

Plus, I just read an article that said the average American, as of 2018, carries around over $38,000 in personal debt. And that doesn’t even include a home mortgage. And about a fourth of that debt is on high interest credit cards.

Yikes! I hope that’s not you.

If you’ve started a business recently…or if you’re thinking about it, I believe I can help you build it better and faster. Because I’ve got a proven system that’s helped lots and lots of other business owners go from five figures a year to six and from six figures a year to seven.

But one thing almost all of those business owners had in common was…they weren’t already deep in debt. And that way my System was a great investment for them.

So, because debt is expensive, get yourself out of it before you get my System.

Or any other system for that matter. I don’t believe any system can help you when you’re stressed out about how you’re gonna pay the bills. In fact, a costly business system might be the proverbial camel that broke the straw’s back.

Wait…did I say that right?

Well, no matter. Hopefully you get the point. The main thing I recommend, if you’re carrying a load of debt right now, is…get yourself out of it. Then, consider my RondaReady System to help you avoid ever getting in that position again.

And if you’re not quite so loaded with debt, but you can’t dive into a total system just yet, consider my monthly RondaReady UNversity classes. It’s an ongoing $15 monthly investment. But in each class I share a business-building strategy or tool that can easily make you back the 50 cents a day cost.

Just so you know… my next RondaReady UNversity monthly class will be the first Thursday in March. And the deadline to enroll for March’s class is February 28th. After that, you’ll be too late. You could still enroll, but you’d have to wait for the next class in April.

For hands-on how-to coaching on how to build your business better and faster with a proven system, monthly tuition is only $15. Remember, tardiness won’t be tolerated. You can cancel anytime. But dropouts are out for good.

Creativity is freedom - or do you prefer your prison?

Creativity is freedom. But it’s not free. Because you gotta work at it. I just read an article that said the world’s most desired job skill is…drum roll please…creativity. But the problem is most people think of it as being able to draw or paint or compose music. And that’s just a fraction of what it is or can be.

So, that’s why I say creativity is freedom.

And it’s also the answer to many (if not most) of life’s challenges. A couple of interesting world changers, Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs, attributed a lot of their problem-solving abilities to procrastination. I talked about that recently. Read it here.

Einstein loved to float around in his sailboat and think. One story I read said he was even arrested one time for wandering around a beach. I guess they thought he was a crazy vagrant. But he just allowed himself to get lost in thoughts.

Steve Jobs said he relied on procrastination to help him jot down ideas. And doodle. And I guess one of those doodles turned into a little product you might remember. The iPod.

Yeah, no matter what kind of business you run (or would like to run) you’ll have problems to solve. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. Right?

In fact, I can’t think of any kind of business where creativity isn’t a benefit.

A friend of mine told me how his auto mechanic had to come up with a creative solution to fix a part on his classic pickup because he couldn’t find the right replacement part anywhere. And an accountant I know told me how he’s always looking for new (aka creative) ways to save his clients money.

You’ve probably had to figure out a creative presentation for your sales at some time or another. Or your marketing. Or lots of other working parts in your business. And you probably didn’t take a painting or knitting class to help you figure it out. Right?

So, maybe you already realize how creativity is freedom. But maybe you still don’t believe you have any time in your life to procrastinate and doodle and float around in a sailboat. And maybe you don’t.

But when you set your business up with the right system, you might be amazed at how much more “in control” you’ll feel. And you might get to your “sailboat” or “doodles” sooner than you imagined.

And setting up that right system is what I talk about in my RondaReady UNversity monthly classes. You can still enroll…and be in time for the next class in March. But the deadline for March’s class is February 28th. After that, you’ll be too late. You could still enroll, but you’d have to wait for the next class in April.

Not enough time in life...hmm, are you sure about that?

“There’s just not enough time in life to do all the things I want.” Have you ever said that? Probably. Because I think just about anybody has felt that way at one time or another. Right? I know I have.

In fact, back when I had a home building business in California, there were definitely more than a few times I thought there just weren’t enough hours in the day. I mean, if you wanna fill up your every waking hour with work, try building, showing, and selling houses in a highly competitive real estate market.

Yikes! (to say the least)

I’ve been talking about ways to invest in yourself, this week, and this sort of falls into that category.

Because without a system, it can sure feel like there’s not enough time in life.

When we first started our business(es) in California, it was all too easy to obsess over the details. And spend too much time on the phone. And go to bed with too many thoughts about “tomorrow” to get a good night’s sleep.

You know what all those mental and physical obsessions are called? Bad habits.

So, I had to break the bad habits of doubt and worry. And replace them with good habits. Like brain dumping. And schedule control (which I taught a class on in this month’s UNversity lesson). Plus, I got myself in the habit of appreciating fresh air, sunshine, and better food. And guess what?

I started getting better sleep. And that helped me get up in a better mood. Ready to take on the world.

So…a free way to invest in yourself is to break your bad habits. And replace them with good ones.

Here’s another mostly free way to break bad habits and invest in yourself.

Need motivation to read more? How about this? An article in Reader’s Digest (no pun intended) said people who read at least 30 minutes per day, as a regular habit, live an average of two more years than non readers. Two years might not seem like much. But reading also helps your brain function at a much sharper level. And it might even help you avoid brain problems like Alzheimer’s disease. So, wouldn’t it be nice to think your older years could be clear-thinking years?

And when you read, focus on books instead of just magazines and articles. Because studies show book reading helps develop your critical thinking abilities. And your business can certainly benefit from that.

So, as soon as you’re finished reading this from me, go start a new book. And even though none of us knows how much time we’ve got, there’s at least enough time in life to get started. Right?

But one thing you don’t have enough time for is putting off joining my monthly RondaReady UNversity. Because the deadline to join…and be in time for the next class on the first Thursday in March…is the last day of February. Which is the 28th this year. Yeah, you don’t even have the leap year extra day.

You can still enroll after February 28th, but you’ll be too late for March’s session. Then, you’d have to wait for the next class in April.

For hands-on how-to coaching on how to build your business better and faster with a proven system, monthly tuition is only $15. Remember, tardiness won’t be tolerated. You can cancel anytime. But dropouts will drop out forever.

Investing in yourself is never a waste of money

I started talking about this yesterday. And I had more reasons to keep investing in yourself. So, I’m continuing that thought process today. Because it’s so important to make it a part of your life. And when you do, you’ll be amazed (at least that’s the hope) at how much bang for your buck you’ll get.

Investing in yourself can include events you attend.

And there are seminars, networking get-togethers, and workshops for just about every industry and business you can imagine. So, you can almost bet there are some that are ideal for you. Plus, who knows when you might meet that person who knows exactly what you need to learn? And when you go to any of those events, just remember to use your mouth about half as much as your ears.

How about writing it down?

Yes, I read an excerpt from an article on journaling found at the University of Rochester Medical Center. And they said their studies showed how keeping a journal can help you reduce stress, prioritize your problems, deal with depression and fear, manage anxiety, and more.

And, as you read what I’m writing here, you’re seeing it in action. Yeah, a blog is just a digital way to journal. And this blog is my online business journal. I don’t use it for dealing with the negativity side of things. But I DO use it to help me brain dump, share valuable information, and build trust with you. So, there are even some more ways that writing it down can help.

Those studies also showed that once your thoughts are written down, you can focus on solutions.

By the way…when you join my RondaReady UNversity, my monthly coaching class, I send you a physical journal. So, you’ve got no excuse to start journaling.

You might not realize it, but getting organized is also investing in yourself.

I’m all about saving as much time as possible. In fact, my first RondaReady UNversity class, which is tomorrow (Thursday Feb 4), is on Schedule Control. Some people call it time management. And a great time saver is an organized desk. Or office. Or home office. And, for that matter, your whole house.

Because when you’re organized, you just know where things are. And you don’t waste time looking for that calendar every time someone calls to make an appointment or schedule a delivery.

So many people are so unorganized that now we have professional organizing coaches. But, if you wanna skip that extra cost, invest a little elbow grease, and follow the old adage, “a place for everything, and everything in its place.”

Wow, I’ve only shared a couple more ways for investing in yourself, and I need to go to work.

So, tomorrow, I’ll share even a few more free and low-cost ways you can invest in yourself.

But just in case you’d like to zoom past the free, low-cost ways, and really start pumping up your business, I suggest my RondaReady System. Because it covers all the points in this list. Plus, lots more. It’s not a typical business course. It helps you actually RUN a business better and faster.

Get your RondaReady System, today. Plug in your business, and Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO you know you can be, and…

Invest in yourself and reap rewards for you AND your business.

A friend of mine sent me a link to an article that talked about several low cost (or even free) ways to invest in yourself. And she wanted my opinion on how the list could be applied to her business. So, I thought about it and said to myself, “Hey self…maybe other business owners would be interested, too.” And if that’s you, then here’s that list and how it can apply to your business.

By the way, when you invest in your business, you invest in yourself.

And vice versa. Because your business is an extension of who you are. Or at least a real live representation of your valuable ideas. So, consider how much more return on investment (ROI) you’ll get in your life when you invest in it.

Here’s the list…

Regular exercise.

Yeah, you gotta stay healthy. Because it’s hard to work on or build a business if you’re not healthy. And when you don’t have energy and stamina, your business won’t either. And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you there’s a ton of information out there about how exercise improves your brain power, and productivity, and reduces stress. Right?

So, make time, starting today, to move around more. Your body and your business will thank you.

Pump up your current skills.

It’s one thing to be “really good at” what you do. But it’s another thing, entirely, to be considered an expert or authority. Most of my favorite business books share one way or another to do that. And you’re a unique individual. So there’s no single book that’s right for everybody. But check out my recommendations, and I bet you can find one that’ll pay for itself over and over.

Set some goals.

Uh-oh, I can just hear the groans and someone saying, “I’ve got two words for you, Ronda. Bor Ing.” Am I right? But  I know, from personal experience, how the truth is the total opposite of boring. Because when you set goals, you actually take control of your time. And when you control your time, it’s amazing how much more creative you’ll get. And those extra creative juices can turn into more ways to build your business and start new ones.

Learn new stuff.

It’s important to have laser focus when it comes to investing in yourself. Because it keeps you on track. And without focus, you could end up “chasing your tail,” as a client mentioned to me recently. But it’s also crucial to measure your performance and make projections. There’s a four letter word for that. PLAN.

And when you track your numbers, you can get ideas about where you (and your business and employees) can improve. So, then you can consider what you can do to share your message, your products, or your services and information with more people.

For example, when I first put my RondaReady System together as an online course, it was totally new territory. I didn’t grow up knowing how to build online courses. And then, my video editor guy recommended I make more videos with me talking about how systems help business owners. But my first thought was…

“Me?! Do videos?! I’m not a video star. And I never played one on…uh…video.”

But with his encouragement, I dipped my toes into the world of video. And even though I still get a serious case of butterflies every time I make a video, I know I’m better than I used to be. And my message gets out to more people. So, believe me…if I can learn new video skills, you can learn new stuff, too.

OK, I’m not even halfway through the list.

So, tomorrow, I’ll continue with some more ways to invest in yourself. But just in case you’d like to jump in full force, instead of just dipping your toes, I suggest my RondaReady System. Because it covers all the points in this list. Plus, lots more. It’s not a typical business course. It helps you actually RUN a business better and faster.

Get your RondaReady System, today. Plug in your business, and Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO you know you can be, and…

Procrastination benefits: don't put 'em off.

I just read an article talking about procrastination benefits. I know, sounds crazy. Right? But as I read on, it kinda made sense. In fact, when you think about it, you might find ways to make it work for you.

And since it’s so easy, wouldn’t it be great if procrastination benefits you, too?

I mean, what could be easier than putting something off till later. “Oh, I’ll get to that tomorrow.” You’ve probably never said that, right. Yeah, if you’re from another planet, maybe.

And who hasn’t heard that old expression, Why put off till tomorrow what you can do today?

But then again…there might be times when that makes perfect sense. Especially as a business owner.

Because, on any given day, you can find yourself bombarded with every day work. Like getting up on Monday morning and finding 100 new emails in your inbox. Or five phone calls coming in before you’ve even looked at your calendar or straightened the paperwork on your desk.

Oh sure, you could just jump right in and start answering all those emails. Maybe you even have an extra set of hands so you can type emails and answer phone calls. And maybe you can do all that even while you’re checking sales, performance measurements, and all those other business metrics.

Or maybe you can’t do all that at the same time. (And by maybe, I mean definitely.)

So, that’s when a little healthy dose of procrastination might come in handy. And you don’t just jump in. Instead you look at your to-do list and prioritize. What needs to get done first? And whatever can wait, you procrastinate. Prioritization…benefit.

And how about creativity?

Sometimes you need to concentrate on something you need to do. Because you know it’s gotta get done. But it’s gotta get done right the first time. “You only get one chance to make a first impression,” and all that jazz.

So, you don’t dive in right away. You give yourself that much needed time to come up with a more creative and efficient solution. And sure enough, when you do dive in, your creativity turned it into a winner.
Creativity…benefit.

A client of mine had a problem with focus. But it wasn’t just A.D.D. or anything like that. She just wanted all her customers to feel special. So, when one of them called and needed something, she’d drop what she was doing and start working on that. Nothing terribly wrong with that. Until it happens with every customer and every call. And that’s why she said she felt like she was always “chasing her tail.”

So, I helped her see how she was much more effective and productive when she stayed on task. Because when you start something only to start something else when it pops up, you risk not getting either one done.
Avoid wasted effort…benefit.

One last way procrastination benefits you.

Some research shows how having a looming deadline gets your adrenaline going. And when that happens, you’re more likely to have laser focus. Meaning you’re gonna get it done. So some people say putting something off till last minute helps them do it better. (Results may vary)
Increased focus…benefit.

And speaking of deadlines…

The deadline to enroll in my monthly RondaReady …and be in time for the first one in February…has passed. So, you missed it. But you can still enroll and join me for the next class in March. The deadline to enroll for that class is the end of February. And this isn’t a leap year, so you only have 27 more days to procrastinate.

For hands-on how-to coaching on how to build your business better and faster with a proven system, monthly tuition is only $15. Remember, tardiness won’t be tolerated. You can cancel anytime. But dropouts will drop out forever.

Exceptional customer service? Who's got time for all that?

I got an email from a guy (pretty well known) in the business and entreprenuer marketing world. And he talked about what makes for exceptional customer service. And he shared a story about his recent experience at a veterinarian’s office when he took his 16 year old dog for a checkup.

Have you had this kind of exceptional customer service at your vet’s office?

He said, even though he hadn’t seen the vet in years, the vet spent a lot of time with him. Around 45 minutes in fact. And the vet asked lots of questions about his dog. But as he did, he’d give the dog some low calorie treats to keep her calm. And it worked because his dog behaved the whole time.

And the guy who sent me the email said, “Do you think I was so concerned with how much this doggie visit was gonna cost? I mean, he’s feeding my dog low calorie treats, asking and answering questions, and providing a thorough examination.”

And isn’t that how you’d like to feel when you’re dealing with a vet? Or human doctor? Or mechanic, grocery store clerk, restaurant server, or you name it? Sure, there’s nothing like someone who takes their exceptional care and concern for their fellow human being and applies it to customer service.

I remember a quote (wish I could remember who said it) that sums it up nicely. “If you want to make more money, just be of more service.”

And you can do that with ease when you have a system that helps you automate a lot of your work. A system that helps you organize your work, your day, your business to the point where you’re a business building dynamo.

And a system that helps you do all this saves you Tons of Time (cue the booming, echoing voice).

That’s what I’m talking about next week in RondaReady UNversity. Time.

And not just time, but how to manage it. Or how I prefer to call it: schedule control. Why just manage when you can control your time? Right? When you’re in control, you can be the master of exceptional customer service.

But here’s the deal. The deadline to enroll in my monthly RondaReady UNversity…and be in time for the first one in February…is January 31st. After that, you’ll be too late for February’s session. You could still enroll, but you’d have to wait for the next class in March.

Time is on my side unless it keeps ticking along

I just found out a guy named Jerry (who called himself Norman Meade) wrote a song way back in the 1960’s. And I know that’s gotta get your attention. Right? No? Well, how about this? Another guy named Kai Winding, and his orchestra, recorded that song in 1963. I’ll bet you’re interested now. Right? What? You still don’t care? Then, how about this? A soul singer, named Irma Thomas recorded it too. Huh? None of this rings a bell? Then, it’s time to pull out the big hint. The Rolling Stones recorded their version in 1964. And the song was “Time Is On My Side.” Yeah, that did it. Right? Uh-huh.

I bet 99.99% of listeners only think of the Stones when they hear Time Is On My Side.

In fact, it’s probably playing in your head right now. Sorry about that.

But even as you’re humming it to yourself, you probably get how ironic it is. Yeah, those young guys in the Rolling Stones are gonna be 78 to 80 years old this year. And I don’t think they can truthfully sing about time being on their side anymore. In fact, if they want or need to get something new recorded, I’m guessing they’d better hurry.

That might sound a little harsh. But it’s true. Because a song the Rolling Stones recorded 10 years later, in 1974, is more appropriate now. “Time Waits For No One.” Remember that one?

“And time waits for no man, and it won’t wait for me
Yes, time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me
Drink in your summer, gather your corn
The dreams of the night time will vanish by dawn”

And speaking of time…and how it waits for no one.

The deadline to enroll in my monthly RondaReady UNversity…and be in time for the first one in February…is January 31st. After that, you’ll be too late for February’s session. You could still enroll, but you’d have to wait for the next class in March. And February’s session is all about time management (aka schedule control).

Money in motion: Is it rocking your business boat?

College is not a bad idea. At least, not for everybody. And it’s not a good idea for everybody either. I went to college and got a degree. So, it would be a little disingenuous for me to diss it completely. But I DO believe there are plenty of good reasons to examine it more closely to see if college is right for you. Or your kids. And the cost (aka money in motion) is certainly one of those reasons. Because, as you might know, “higher learning” means higher and higher tuition these days.

That’s money in motion. But what kind of motion.

I read about a couple who spent (and borrowed) about $150k to get their daughter a degree. And the daughter did great work, graduated with a 3.25 grade average, and couldn’t find a job that paid enough to pay off the debt. So, the parents had to continue to help her with the financial burdens.

And, unfortunately, that story can be repeated hundreds of thousands of times over. Because colleges and universities advertise how they provide theory and information in their business degree programs. And they say they prepare students academically and practically to succeed professionally. And they probably do.

But what basically none of them do (if any do, I don’t know where they are) is teach students how to RUN a business. And that’s crucial. Because even if you’re a brilliant, creative, and mesmerizing personality, it doesn’t mean your brilliant, creative, and mesmerizing ideas will make it past the storyboards.

You still need a system to help you track, organize, and measure your efforts and results. And no amount of “elite accreditation” helps you do that.

Sure, a university might boast about how their “business graduates go on to achieve highly successful, rewarding careers in a fiercely competitive global marketplace.” And they might brag about how “On average, more than 94 percent of our graduates secure professional employment shortly after graduating.”

But that’s still spending a lot of time and money to get a job.

And if you’re someone with an entrepreneur’s heart, or someone who’d prefer to own a business than just get a job, that’s not the best use of your time and money.

And that’s why I’m launching RondaReady UNversity. It’s a great way to focus your time and money on what you truly wanna do. Build and grow a business that you can work ON. Not forever IN. Because I teach you how to manage your time (schedule control), organize, and build up your customer or client base.

The first RondaReady UNversity session is coming up in just about 9 days. And you don’t wanna miss this first session. Because it’s focused on schedule control. (aka time management)

But the deadline to enroll in my monthly RondaReady UNversity…and be in time for the first one in February…is January 31st. After that, you’ll be too late for February’s session. You could still enroll, but you’d have to wait for the next class in March.

For hands-on how-to coaching on how to build your business better and faster with a proven system, monthly tuition is only $15. Remember, tardiness won’t be tolerated. You can cancel anytime. But dropouts will drop out forever.

So, get your money in motion in a more focused direction.

Join today, and Get Ready to Be Ready and be the highly organized CEO of your own business, and…

Stay Ready,
Ronda
