Dangerous type or dependable type?

The Dangerous Type

Dangerous Type, the 80s song by The Cars, inspired this one. I’m not a big Cars fan, but it got me thinking again about how important it is to set up the right values and principles for your business and avoid some pitfalls later.

When you’re feeling down or defeated, you’re more susceptible to the dangerous types. It can be difficult to see them coming sometimes. If you’re one of those with a keen eye and ear for users and selfish con artists, consider yourself fortunate. But far too many business owners, newbies especially, start relationships with trust that hasn’t been earned, yet.

Good news is…people show you who they are over time. Even a dangerous type.

But you gotta keep your eyes and ears open. Eventually you can develop a sort of sixth sense. Your radar will beep when the dangerous types get close. But it takes practice.

And…when you’re clear about what your values and principles are, the dangerous types will tend to avoid you and your business. They’ll see you can’t be sidetracked by fast talk and something twinkly.

So, as you move forward, take your time. Remember: “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

Time can reveal red flags. Never ignore red flags. But if you do get involved (or are involved) with a dangerous type, on any level, use your gift of goodbye.

Don’t be concerned with their feelings, just stand up for yourself. You deserve it.

The RondaReady business coach CRM system has helped lots of other entrepreneurs, like you, define and set up business values and principles. And this process has helped business owners build better businesses with a lot fewer dangerous types.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

First quarter

Do you remember your first quarter?

No, I’m not talking about your allowance or that shiny coin you found when you were a kid. If you’re a business owner on a regular calendar year, your first quarter is coming to an end. And it’s a great time to analyze last year’s performance. And I’ve been sharing lists and list info this week. So, I have a short list of why it’s important.

Some reasons why it’s a good idea to check last year’s numbers in your first quarter…

  • You can make sure you have your current year projections in place.
  • And you can make sure your current year budget is in place.
  • You’ll be able to include line items for salary increases and incentive bonuses.

Here’s another pro tip: Set up a staff meeting so you can keep them in the loop. Because they need to know how your organization did last year, too. And they’ll better understand your expectations for this year. Want another pro tip? OK, how’s this? Don’t forget to prepare your employee Pay-for-Performance reviews and bonus structure. Especially if company and individual goals were met.

I know it’s a bunch of extra work. But it’s all part of owning your own business. And even if you don’t have employees, performance analyses and projections are still crucial. Unless of course, what you do is more of a hobby. Then never mind. But if you want to turn your hobby into your business, then let’s get crackin’. By the way, my RondaReady business coach CRM system can help you automate and delegate this work. Just tossin’ that out there to anyone who’d like to make it easier.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Shouts outs

Shout outs for success

Hi…Ronda here. Hope you’re having a great day so far. I’m gonna talk about shout outs today. But first, check this out. It’s been said, the most successful people know how to give compliments. And to clear up this thing about success, let me say this. A lot of people equate success with money. And money IS one measurement. But there are lots of other measurements, too.

Some other measurements for success include:

  • Your relationships
  • Where you are with your goals and dreams
  • And how much peace and joy you have in life

On all those levels, I work to be successful. On on that note…

The latest of my shout outs goes to Integrity Auto Care in Colorado Springs.

I got some great service from them today. Not average. And not just good. It was great! Here’s why I say that. My car was making a weird noise as I took off for my first appointment this morning. So, I called Integrity. They booked me an appointment. And I actually got there early. But they went ahead and took me in early. And they looked over my car quickly, repaired it, and had it out in no time.

Even better than that, they clearly explained to me what the problem was. And what it took to make the repair. And, like I said, it was all in record time. That was awesome because I had such a busy day ahead of me. Those guys are fantastic. In fact, if you live in Colorado Springs, and you want a great auto service team working on your car, go to Integrity Auto Care. And tell ’em Ronda sent you.

And I also recommend you remember to recognize somebody today, too. It’s something we all overlook too often. But you won’t overlook it as much when you build reminders into a proven system. Just so happens, my RondaReady business coach CRM system is set up to help you with that.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

To do not or to do - a list for your Starship and you

To do not or to do
A list for your Starship and you

If it sounds like I’m mixing Shakespeare with Star Trek, there’s a good reason why. Because I am. Of course the “to do not or to do” part is from the famous soliloquy in Hamlet. And your Starship is your enterprise. Your business. And if you’ve followed my articles and videos for any time at all, you know how I love to connect business to…well…just about anything. Yesterday (in real time) I talked about list lust. Today I have a special list for you.

This will either be a to do not list or a to do list. Your choice.

And right up front, this list is only for you if you’re a business owner who hires people. Or if you think you’ll be hiring people in the future. This is a list for how to hire them. And how you’ll proceed once they’re onboard. Are you ready? Really, really ready? Ok, here’s the list…

For new hires:

  1. Determine position roles and responsibilities differently for each new hire. Because people are not all the same.
  2. Find out how your new hire works, and then determine how to let them know what you expect.
  3. You know your business better than anyone. So be sure your new hire can follow you around for the best training.
  4. You’re all adults. So use whatever language you prefer. After all, showing emotions is just keepin’ it real.
  5. If your new hire doesn’t cut it within 90 days, you gotta let ’em go and get someone else. You gave ’em every chance.

OK, there you go. Total common sense. Right? And the list is yours to use as you see fit. This is YOUR enterprise Starship. So, I’m trusting you to make the wise decisions, based on your knowledge and expertise, to avoid mutiny. But just so you know, I’d say somewhere around 100% of the business owners, who’ve made that a to-do list, no longer own those businesses. Or their Starship no longer travels at warp speed.

Either way you choose, let me know how it goes.

If you’d like some help avoiding the potential pitfalls of a list like that, transport my RondaReady system book onto your Starship today. Lots of other Captains of Enterprise have used it to keep their shields up and their ship “engaged.”

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

List lust: the secret of the silent, invisible motivator

Do you have list lust?

A DeeJay I listen to, on radio, has a program she calls “Lust for Lists.” And she compiles her playlist each day based on a particular theme or topic. It makes her show more cohesive and interesting. At least I think so. And, of course, since I connect everything back to my business (well, maybe not everything, but a whole lot) I started thinking how we humans have sort of a list lust. Or certainly a lot of us do. Are you one of them?

But who suffers from…or enjoys…list lust?

Ok, I’ll be the first to raise my hand. Because it’s so satisfying to check each item off the list. Right? Whether it’s in personal life or business…it makes no difference. When you have a goal you want to accomplish, make a list. In fact, don’t be surprised if just the act of making a list gets you motivated and energized. But how do you start?

Well, I’ll show you by example…

  • Think of all of the steps you’ll need to take to achieve your main goal.
  • Write them down.
  • Arrange them in order of importance.
  • Double check to be sure you haven’t forgotten any steps, and
  • Start doing them in order so you can check them off.

See what I did there? A simple list. And all I did was put the steps in order for making a list. And a list can be like a tiny motivator. Because it keeps you on track. And it gives you the immediate reward of the checkmark. Think of that as silent, but positive reinforcement. With every checkmark you’re getting closer to what you want.

Be a Santa business owner. Make your list and check it twice. It’ll take your business from naughty to nice. And when you’re ready to Get Ready, my RondaReady business system book can help you develop a healthy list lust.

Invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today.

Then, do what I show you how to do, and it can pay for itself over and over. And it can help you…

Happy life is about more than people and things

Happy life

Albert Einstein said “If you want a happy life, tie it to a goal, not people or things.”

Al is 100% spot on with that one. It’s a fact, people will disappoint you and things can get lackluster in no time at all. But a goal can ignite inner motivation. It can quickly fill you with a sense of purpose, helping you mark your place in the world.

I know (from personal experience, unfortunately) how people and things will let you down. More than once in my life I had all the “appearances” of success. And all the trimmings. But, at the heart of it all, they weren’t happy times. So, all that “success” felt empty. Because something was missing.

I love helping people get to the happy life they want.

Once I stopped putting my eggs into somebody else’s basket, my attitude started changing for good. And once I stopped focusing on things, and started to focus on serving other entrepreneurs, I found my purpose.

What a relief! And what an awesome difference it made in my whole life.

I discovered that getting things more organized in my business life also helped me organize my family life. And that helped me reach my goal of working from home so I could better serve my family. Because I know that’s my most important job.

If you’d like to experience that kind of happiness, I’m here to help.

And Stage One of the RondaReady system is all about helping you focus on who you are and what you want. I’ve developed and produced exercises and video coaching to help you draw a crystal clear image of your best self. When you do, then you can clearly see your goal. And then you can more easily define a way to get there.

Plus…I want to help you clarify your purpose so you can build and fortify your business or the empire you desire. Here’s a snippet of me talking about clarity in the RondaReady business coach CRM system…

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Decisions decisions - so make up your mind already

Decisions, decisions.

I remember, when I was a teenager, how my parents gave me some advice about how to make decisions. They showed me how to cultivate the best kinds of friends. And weed out the unsavory types. They told me, “We don’t drink, smoke, or chew nor go with people who do.” I think actress, Jane Russell, actually said it first. But no matter. I heard it from my parents first. And that leads me to why I’m talking about decisions decisions.

“Oh decisions decisions. What ever shall I wear to the ball?”

It’s funny how people started saying that to emphasize how many things they have to figure out. And maybe to even feel more important. And busy. Have you ever said that? When I stop and think about it, yeah, I’ve certainly said it, too.

Now, even though some decisions need more thought and research, there are some you should be able to make faster. Especially if you’re a business owner. This topic came up while I was in a client meeting this week. My client mentioned a new potential employee. And she said she wasn’t sure if the new person would be a good fit.

I asked, “Why aren’t you sure?”

“Because I’m not sure if they’ll be able to bring in enough business to justify me paying them,” she answered.

“Well, how much would that need to be?” I followed up.

“Uh, I don’t have those actual numbers. And I guess that’s why I’m still riding the fence,” she replied. With a sheepish grin.

“Well, there you go,” I said. “And don’t I always say you gotta know your numbers?”

And as it turned out, once I helped her dive into and clear up her numbers, she saw she couldn’t afford to hire someone, yet. Imagine what a disaster it would have been to hire someone only to have to fire them not long after.

Knowing your numbers helps reduce decision making time.

And you gotta know your core values, who your ideal client is, and exactly what any new hire’s duties will be. That’s “KNOW.” Not “think” or “guess” or even worse “wonder”. Knowing makes running your business so much simpler. And SO much more profitable. Those are just a couple of the reasons I created the RondaReady business coach CRM system. Because I love to help risk takers and go-getters KNOW their businesses inside and out.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Make more money because it's better than making less

Who wants to make more money?

Last year, I spoke in a networking group of small business owners. And I asked a question I often ask, “Who wants to make more money?” Of course, they all raised their hands. But then, I asked, “Who knows how to do it?” And I’d say at least half those hands came down. But there’s another, even more important, question to ask after that…

Who has an organized plan to make more money?

And that’s the only true, reliable predictor of whether or not you’re gonna reach your financial goals. Your plan.

So, do you have an organized plan to make more money? Because, statistics say only four out of twenty can legitimately answer “yes” to that question. And I wish I could tell you all you have to do is be a good person, work real hard, and you’ll get there. But it’s not enough to just want something so much you can taste it. That’s a start…not a finish.

But a written plan, what I call “your road map”, will get you there. Because, your business road map gets you from Point A (startup) to point B (successful business owner) just like a geographical map. You just plot out the direction you want to go. And then follow your map. But are you one of those four who’ll actually make it happen? Will you actually do the hard work?

Or are you one of the sixteen who give up?

If you’re not a quitter, I wanna help you. Because you’re the kind of person who helps make life easier for the rest of us. You find ways to serve others with efficiency and class. And I have a business coach CRM system to help you build your organized plan so you’ll be more efficient than ever. And that’s how to make more money.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Fiscal fitness and physical fitness

Fiscal fitness and physical fitness

How are you today? And it’s not just a courteous, rhetorical question. I mean it. How are you? Have you been taking care of yourself. Getting plenty of exercise, fresh air, filtered water, nutritious food, and sleep? I hope so. Because the fiscal fitness of your business depends a lot on your own physical fitness.

And fiscal fitness for your business also improves your physical fitness.

Yeah, it works both ways. And I could give you links to lots of websites with research that backs up what I’m saying. But you know it’s true. Right? You know how much easier it is to own and run your business when you’re healthy and happy. And you know it’s easier to be healthy and happy when your business is running well and making money.

I’ve talked about a client of mine who was having some serious health problems. And it had a lot to do with feeling like his business couldn’t get along without him. But I showed him how that’s not a business. It’s a potential heart attack. Something he came close to dealing with.

So, using my RondaReady business coach CRM system we worked on getting him some office help. Imagine how much better he felt once he discovered having help freed him up to concentrate on what he did best. And I can tell you, not only did he look much better, he saw his business quadruple. You read that right. Quadruple. Which, by the way, paid for my help many times over.

Now, that’s what I call fiscal AND physical fitness. And I can help you get there, too.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…

Control center - Do you have one?

Control Center to Major Tom

As I was driving between appointments today I heard that old David Bowie song, Space Oddity. You know how it goes. “Ground control to Major Tom…” It had an odd perspective. So I guess that’s partly how he came up with the name for it. But even after all these years, it’s still a catchy tune. Definitely sticks in your head. And why do I bring it up? Because the song made me picture a control center in my head as I listened. I could see a room filled with people assigned to do a job. And everything running like a top. Hmm…that rang a bell.

Having a control center is essential for business owners, too.

Imagine a bunch of tiny workers who do everything you tell them to. And they work all day and all night. Every day and every night. And here’s the best part…you don’t have to pay them anything. What?! That sounds illegal. Not to mention how cruel it is to all those overworked little workers. But before you call OSHA and report it, I’ll explain.

Those tiny workers are actually your CRM system. A control center for your business. And you set it up and personalize it for your business and the way you work. Then, you tell it to remind you of things, send out emails, track progress, and a lot more. You get to delegate so you can focus on those creative ideas you love to come up with.

“But how and where do I start, Ronda?”

I’m glad you asked. Because that’s where I come in. I’ve already done a lot of the heavy lifting for you. I set up my RondaReady business coach CRM system based on what’s worked amazingly well for so many of my clients. I’ve helped them become highly organized CEO’s of their businesses. AND make a lot more money.

And what sets my CRM system apart from every other one out there is ME. When you plug into RondaReady, you’ll have me there to show you how to work your system so your system works for you. Because I believe in you, the business building dreamer and doer.

So, invest in your own copy of the RondaReady System book, today. And it IS a good investment. Because it can pay for itself exponentially, and help you…
